I have just seen what you have said about me over there, and you totally misrepresent what I say!

I don't think that people who don't express 8 times in 24 hours are 'lazy'.

I have never talked about the 'virgin gut' in my life.

I don't think women who give formula have 'risked their baby's life'.

I actually think the idea of nipple confusion is wildly exagerrated and do not think women who use bottles 'give their babies permanent nipple confusion'.

Where am I ever 'stern' with mothers?

I am not a bit bothered about how much Clare Byam Cook is supposed to 'hate' me though Though maybe she doesn't 'hate' me - if 'veal' reports what I am supposed to think so unreliably, then maybe she's got this wrong, too.

hunker, but being sprung on can be avoided especially in these sort of cases, surely...you do know what you say on forums, and also, if you realise you fucked up, why not jsut stand up and apologise....surely that is the adult thing to do?

I swear, god's honest, I've never been anyone else on mumsnet but me.

I don't think vitriol is a harsh word under the circumstances - someone has said macneil is poison, someone else has said she should be shot - like I say, I just didn't think about why people might be responding like that. I guess if it were one of my good friends, that I cared about, being slagged then of course I'd be outside the castle baying for blood with the best of 'em - although I'd probably get a sore throat and have to go home for a hot beecham's.

lazy, fair enough, it;s just because someone has called my post vitriole just a couple of days ago, and, as englsih is my 2. language I actually checke a thesaurus, and wow, I assume it was the slacky calling someone poisonous, but wow, what I found was pretty harsh ways to describe it, lol...anywa, tis just that it was a coincidence to see this term within a couple of days....

dISSING TIKTOK IS ROUGHLY PAR TO kneeing Neslon Mandela in the bollocks.
All sane folk of whatever persuasion would be unanimous in agreeing that it just isn't on.

Tiktok is the one poster whose intelligence,grace,humour and level headedness always always shine through.

We are honoured to have her.

Quite. Besides all the stuff that is just not true, if I read that an unknown person had been chortling with a (in her field) celebrity about how much they hate me I'd be so upset.

Which is why I'm so steamed for Tiktok, as she seems like the sort of person who cares about things.

I am not upset or distressed - truly not. I was taken aback by the criticism and misrepresentation on the Guardian board (which I found by accident - I know it sounds daft, but I was surfing, and I fell upon it...I do look at the film boards occasionally) because it was so untrue, and the word 'hatred' leapt out at me. It just goes to show my mother was right - there is no hiding place for bad behaviour as someone somewhere will spot you

I don't think macneil's apology is that great...I want to see grovelling and vast amounts of arse-licking and virtual bouquets of flowers and chocolate fountains. Maybe she'll come back and give a proper apology I know I have had mumsnet conversations with her in the past, and have never felt I was being anything other than sympathetic to her about her had experiences. FFS, I even told her she should complain about some bad treatment she had had!

Just saying she used my name as a sort of almalgam of other posters ignores the fact that there is a real person behind each poster's name.

On the other hand, she did own up, putting an end to the mystery.

Probably best to end the thread now - I am ok about it all, not hurt or bruised, and thanks again for the nice things people have said. No need for any outrage on my behalf or anger towards macneil. It's just the web, after all!

Macneil seems very unrepentant about what I read to be an inaccurate personal attack against a kind and knowledgeable Mumsnetter. If she's wanted to generalise she could have easily generalised eg, Those mumsnetters would have had me...blah blah blah.

I have noticed in RL that some women have a real issue with happy, tolerant, more knowledgeable and respected women than themselves.

A case of envy induced bitchiness, what do others think???
