Ok, it was me on the water bus in Venice. It was me with the screaming, hungry baby who popped out a boob and fed him while the boat bopped up and down on the waves.

You would have done the same, right?

Weirdest places you've had to feed?

whilst trying to negotiate the price of a car with a wide boy geezer in his portacabin...dd was teeny though so it was very discreet and i dont think he even noticed but i do remember thinking im off my head on no sleep and i can still multitask!

100 metres underground in a mine when she was 11 weeks.

On the front benches in the Council Chamber of a large London borough during a full council meeting. She was 5 weeks old, I was a councillor and had no option but to take her. Everyone was very supportive of my doing so.

I'm a feed anywhere type, DD could latch herself from 6 weeks onwards and I was always pretty good at not exposing acres of boob to the world.

I have been inspired by this thread to write a poem about breastfeeding. It is truly awful as I am no poet, but I thought it would be amusing to share - do excuse the tortured rhymes.

I breastfed

On a bus
On a train
On a plane

In the woods
On our lawn
In the ?hoods

By the pool
On a stool

Drinking champagne
Pretending not to be in pain
Toasting your birth
And shaking with mirth

In countless cafes
Scoffing canapés
In dodgy bars
And under the stars
Using the loo
While trying not to poo

On the motorway
And down the alleyway
In Weston-super-mare
I breastfed everywhere

Giving a filmed interview at a police station as a witness in a not nice series of crimes. DD was only about 6 weeks old and she was named on the tape at the start of filming as a formality. It was quite surreal on reflection. I think that filming was paused but i'd fed DD more than once in front of these officers over a series of meetings at home that it didn't feel odd.
