Ok, it was me on the water bus in Venice. It was me with the screaming, hungry baby who popped out a boob and fed him while the boat bopped up and down on the waves.

You would have done the same, right?

Weirdest places you've had to feed?

I'll be doing that next week, I'd imagine NinthWave!

narniesarnie · 13/06/2011 15:50

Iranian embassy.

prettybird · 13/06/2011 15:51

Grin Eaurouge OK - to be strictly accurate, it was just off the ski slopes and I did take my skis off! Had a wee bum bag which just fitted the Avent hand pump nicely! :)

Filled the chalet freezer with sachets of EBM (ds was 6 months old and we had left him behind.... long story but it was our 2nd ski trip and he had been with us for the first one). Was really proud that I had expressed enough in advance of the holiday that he didn't need to have any formula while I was away!

In a mortgage interview - the bank manager offered to leave. I said, "Don't be silly, it's fine!" 10 minutes later I realised he probably WANTED to leave, as it was a tiny room and DS is a rather loud feeder Grin

On a bench in a plaza in Barcelona, on a plane, in a theatre, in a cinema, in a cubicle in a public loo (hideous experience), on a proper throne type thing at a wedding... the list is endless Grin

At the garage while discussing the car repair with the mechanic
At the 8th and 15th greens while watching the Welsh Open Golf earlier this month
During a local redevelopment Public Consultation meeting, while the MP was waffling on

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 13/06/2011 21:11

On a display of patio furniture in a Portugese hypermarket!

TheRealMBJ · 13/06/2011 21:27

Farringdon station at midnight with about 3000 stranded rail passengers looking on.

(King's Cross was shut for a bomb scare and we all ended up waiting for trains at Farringdon. Of course all the trains were at King's Cross Grin)

OyOfMidWorld · 13/06/2011 21:31

At the Welsh Assembly. Not in the actual assembly room and it wasn't in session. I was daring someone to tut or roll their eyes Smile

tallulah · 13/06/2011 22:14

On a Hovercraft (X Channel). On a variety of boats. In Church. At 'Who Do You Think You Are' at Olympia. In various University Parents Open Day events.

VivaLeBeaver · 13/06/2011 22:19

On the Gorner glacier on the Monte Rosa, over 3000m high. DD was 4 months old. Wanted to go up Klein Matterhorn the next day but they refused to let me in the cable car even though I had a thick snow suit for DD. Am still annoyed over that.

Shipscat · 13/06/2011 22:22

Sheltering under an overhang on a tor on Dartmoor, being watched by a teeny little wild foal :)

bluerodeo · 13/06/2011 22:30

i have to say I don't think any of these are strange- I've b/f wherever I was when my baby needed to be fed.

Is there something I'm not getting

DorisDoesntDance · 13/06/2011 22:38

i sat on a cliff top in the evening sunshine looking out across the ocean feeding my baby the other day. not a strange place per se, but it was lovely.

BaronessBomburst · 13/06/2011 22:49

In the job centre at a 'back-to-work' style interview. It kind of hammered home the point that I didn't have any childcare and that shift work was going to be a bit tricky. Grin

Disclaimer: I'm in the Netherlands and things work a bit differently here, just in case anyone things I'm some kind of no-good scrounger.

Valpollicella · 13/06/2011 22:52

At Ds's Great-Grandma's funeral...He was only 8wo, and needs must...

A very lovely crem worker asked me if I'd like some privacy, (bless him, he was being very sensitive about it) I said I'm sure most people we're paying more attention to the eulogies etc than me at the back with DS on the boob Grin

HipHopOpotomus · 13/06/2011 23:10

Queens club watching tennis.
On a massage table in Thailand! I'd just turn on one side and feed while the massage continued - highly recommended!
It's so easy to travel and get out and about with a bf baby I've done it everywhere :)

HipHopOpotomus · 13/06/2011 23:11

Well everywhere I've been that is ...

BillyJoel · 13/06/2011 23:17

At the american embassy whilst waiting to be evacuated at the start of a civil war with the city on fire just down the road. Awaiting the tank escort out of the country.

Watching elephants rampaging in Kruger - stopping inthe middle of nowhere for lengths of time meant that all kinds of animals came out to play and completely ignored us.

On a warship is the best so far. Cue sailors not knowing quite where to look - it's not every day an officer's wife gets her tits out.

JollySergeantJackrum · 14/06/2011 14:57

My first public BF experience (as a mother, I'm sure I had plenty as a baby) was in an airport. That cured me of any potential shyness!

Glad we've got off the nipple shields now though - they were a proper faff in public.

browniebear · 14/06/2011 17:41

Some of these are very exotic!
My own are
At a school assembly
in church several times
leaning over DS in the car
in a pop up tent on a very windy cold day on the beach at Primrose Valley

mawbroon · 14/06/2011 21:58

Anywhere and everywhere.

On a seesaw/chute/swings
Thames river taxi
Sainsbury's/Tescos/Morrisons and probably Scotmid too
Falkirk Wheel
In the leisure centre whilst making a complaint to the manager
On a miniature railway
Trains/buses/tube/planes

To name but a few.

DS2 goes absolutely everywhere in a sling (don't even have a buggy for him) and gets to latch on whenever he likes, so he really does feed anywhere and everywhere on the go.
