You lot are talking as if they have crack cocaine at the till fgs, so what if someone is swayed into using one formula over another?????

I am sure they will realise it is illegal when the riot cops storm in shortly saying 'give up the formula, everybody down'.

oliveoil - can you just let me get on with it please?
I respect your viewpoint - so can you respect mine

this is reminding me why I hardly come on mumsnet these days

OP posts:
oliveoil · 08/11/2005 13:57

I am respecting it, and joining in a discussion thread about it.

No need to get all huffy and defensive.

Racers · 08/11/2005 13:58

Pops you are right to complain (I know you already know this, just trying to lend my support!)

If they want to avoid wasting products, they need to sort out their stock control, not go around breaking codes which are there for good reasons!

Would be interested in an update on their response.

Pixiefish · 08/11/2005 13:58

oliveoil- the law is in place for a reason and a big company like mothercare should respect it. in the same way that they respect other trading laws. if they don't then there's no point having laws in the first place.

popsy- think i'd write to the babymilkaction people and send a cc to mothercare

popsycal · 08/11/2005 13:58

piffle, hunkermunker, bellie, misdee, marina and pecka.
Many thanks for your support. Will let you know the outcome

misdee · 08/11/2005 13:59

seems a good letter to me pops.

nutcracker · 08/11/2005 13:59

I also don't see the prob.

I am a mother on a low income who bottlefed and no amount of offers would have made me buy a different milk to the one I had decided was most suitable, and wouldn't have convinced me to bottle feed had I been breastfeeding.

The only time I ever changed milks was when one didn't seem to be suiting my baby, not because another was on offer.

Pixiefish · 08/11/2005 14:00

oliveoil- also don't think popsy is out of order in her response to your post- using terms like 'fgs' and sarcasm isn't conducive to healthy debate as it smacks of disdain

oliveoil · 08/11/2005 14:00

sorry, didn't realise it was a thread only for people who agreed with popsycal. Silly me.

nutcracker · 08/11/2005 14:02

Agree with Oo, this should have said 'only post if you agree this is wrong'.

popsycal · 08/11/2005 14:02

I wish I had never started the damn thing

OP posts:
dinosaur · 08/11/2005 14:03

Popsycal, it's a good letter - do send it.

Pixiefish · 08/11/2005 14:03

no one is objecting to anyone's views but the way that the views were expressed- terms like 'fgs' and sarcastic comments aren't helpful

popsycal · 08/11/2005 14:04

pixie can you email me urgently on [email protected]

my spam address...

OP posts:
Pixiefish · 08/11/2005 14:04

Popsy- yes send it and remember to let us know the outcome

Pixiefish · 08/11/2005 14:05

have done. that email address is also my msn addy if you want to get me on that

HRHQoQ · 08/11/2005 14:05

I know. I'm sorry I just get slightly irritated by people getting so worked up by things like that, but not seeming to care about other stuff.

I'll shut up now

misdee · 08/11/2005 14:07

The code was put in place for a reason. i know
its probably somebody at mothercare who doesnt know about the code who has reduced the cartons. could you ring and speak to the manager and explain the code? or if your a wuss like me then send the letter lol.

popsycal · 08/11/2005 14:08

yes
reduced price formula is all I care about
I don't care abotu other stuff

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 08/11/2005 14:09

What should I be caring about at the moment then, QoQ?

Rather think I care about lots of things - this is one of them.

oliveoil · 08/11/2005 14:11

using terms like oh for fucks sake aren't exactly conducive to debate or helpful either imo.

fgs is quite tame in comparison.

popsycal · 08/11/2005 14:12

i apologise for FFS
I agree - not conducive etc etc

OP posts:
Enid · 08/11/2005 14:13

whether you care about formula or not, isnt it breaking the law?

flagrantly?

by a big retail hitter who should know better?

fair game then I say good luck with it popsycal
