I name changed, I am a black woman and request primarily black women to send a message in support of Meghan to the royal family. We do not have to explain why we believe Meghan, this is a safe space/board for us.

@Ratched

What on earth does that mean?

highlightsonlyplease · 11/03/2021 18:37

I definitely believe Megan.
I also believe those who don't believe her are part of the problem.

rockingllama · 11/03/2021 18:38

I'm white and I believe her.

Soontobe60 · 11/03/2021 18:38

@TheWarbler

Why are white women commenting on here? I thought black women requested their own board.
😩
BIWI · 11/03/2021 18:38

If someone tells you they've experienced racism, then you listen, surely? (Always my philosophy anyway - similar to sexism/homophobia/ageism/disablism)

debbrianna · 11/03/2021 18:40

I belive her meghan was telling the truth..

StellaAndCrow · 11/03/2021 18:43

Yes, it's sometimes not so much the blatant outright things that are obvious that you can point to - it can be little glances, eye rolls, sighs.

I'm non-white and Jewish and i've learned over the past few years that no one outside of the community will believe you. They will all say you have ulterior motives.

debbrianna · 11/03/2021 18:45

I also belive she left out a lot, give it time. It will comeout.

Rege · 11/03/2021 18:45

I believe Meghan and Harry x10

To those querying white posters, please for goodness what does it matter if white posters come on to say they believe her? Can we please get some perspective, they are allies, that is not a bad thing.

There’s a time and place to request white posters do not derail a thread and be ‘educated’. This is NOT it.

Orchidflower1 · 11/03/2021 18:46

@TheWarbler

Why are white women commenting on here? I thought black women requested their own board.
But if you want other mixed race ( me) women or white women to have an insight more into how black women think/ feel / experience things, isn’t it better to allow them to comment?

How else will people open their minds to the nuances that may be different to their own lives?

None parents-in fact none females post on MN but we don’t shout them down, they post and hopefully learn from it.

SionnachRua · 11/03/2021 18:48

Another one chiming to say they believe. The hatred for Meghan in some corners of MN is unreal (I'd say unbelievable here but it's all too believable unfortunately). The phrase "look at this bitch eating crackers like she owns the place" sums it up perfectly (once you hate someone, everything they do is offensive).

Orchidflower1 · 11/03/2021 18:50

Also for what it’s worth I agree with the poster that I think there is more that wasn’t said.

As a mum Meghan’s mum must feel absolutely distraught for her. Her baby was getting the man of her dreams and the happily ever after that became nightmare for her.

Orchidflower1 · 11/03/2021 18:52

@debbrianna

I also belive she left out a lot, give it time. It will comeout.
This is what I was meaning.
Detanglinghairtonight · 11/03/2021 18:52

Black women are few on this forum and in society in general black women are not seen as women, our experiences are invalidated but I hope wherever Meghan is, takes comfort in our support.

@SandSeaBeach unfortunately I don't think Diana's money would have covered them for life at all. From what I've read she left him £10 million, which sounds like a lot but seeing as their security probably costs about a million a year the 10 would not last long

TheWarbler · 11/03/2021 18:55
@TheWarbler, I understand it is our board, but this is not the time
Confused

Ok ...

Ratched · 11/03/2021 18:59
@Ratched

I believe that she believes what she is saying, but without context, it is impossible to judge ( although judge is the wrong word).
I am white. But from a hugely diverse family and we have had conversations in the past.
Fond, loving and TOTALLY inclusive musings about colour, hair, skin tone, eye colour.
Who is to say the conversation was not meant to be a living one, but was interpreted in a different way by Megan?
That is not pointing the finger at anyone. No one needs to have been fascist, no one needs to have been lying.
Perhaps it has simply been interpreted in s way it was never meant to be.

OverTheRainbow88 · 11/03/2021 18:59

@DropDTuning

I would believe you

Ratched · 11/03/2021 19:00
 • racist, not fascistHmm
TipseyTorvey · 11/03/2021 19:00

I'm mixed race, similar colour to Meghan. I believe her, but can I just say my dad was a white redhead and my DH and joked throughout my pregnancy about what DS would look like. In the end he came out fairly brown but with blond ringlets! We thought it was all lovely until people started commenting in the street about 'is he yours? '. We'll never know the context of the comments made by the royal family but you just know when it comes from a racist mindset.

Haydugi · 11/03/2021 19:04

I wanted to believe her, and in her.

But so much of what she said was obviously not true.

Slidepastthevoid · 11/03/2021 19:06

@TipseyTorvey it's the way she said "concerns" around the colour of his skin that let me know it was def racist

But yes, feel you on the "are they yours' - people always think I'm the nanny

Rege · 11/03/2021 19:13

Can people please at least get their stories straight. It wasn’t Meghan who was told they had concerns around her baby’s skin colour it was Harry. She was just narrating it and Harry came on and confirmed that such a conversation took place with him and NOT Meghan. So it doesn’t matter what way she said “CONCERNS”Hmm, that is what Harry said, he also said his reaction at the time was ‘shock’.
