I'll start by stating I couldn't give two shits about two people I don't know.

However, I am finding so much humour in the 'non racist' vitriol from people that don't know them, and who seemingly don't care, yet can't get them out of their mouths!

I can't wait for this Oprah interview (that I might not even bother to watch) because I'll find the obsessive thread after thread on this absolutely hilarious.

To start us who have had a lifetime of this shit off, I thought I'd add to the frothing with this gem!

Kelechi, Shola and Gina were so on point and so unapologetically Black!

I wish this myth of her denying her Blackness in Hollywood would die. She never denied that. She was being cast for those roles as White women or seemingly ambiguous women. She never lied to casting directors. She's even commented on that before when the myth/lie has arisen. People, both White and Black, keep using this as a stick to beat her with but she's never denied being half Black, ever.

Absolutely. She has never denied it. She has spoken of not being white enough for white roles and not black enough for black roles. She said this is why her role on Suits was perfect because she was just Rachael. She said when her character's dad was going to be in a few scenes she asked if they could cast a black man. Then she started getting hate mail and death threats. People would write on her social media 'Ew, she's black? I used to think she was hot'. I feel very sorry for her being hated for being biracial and feeling like she didn't fit in anywhere.

Yes now I am bullying a white woman with my unkind words for calling out her frankly quite offensive comments regarding race. All on BMN Anyone see a trend here?

Well @Orchidflower1 this is really not the place or time for you to be playing victim. Also we are not discussing the potential areas of conversation for the interview. The interview has aired. We are discussing the contents of it.

If your take away from my comment at how offensive the reference to non-existent purple people in order to minimise the influence of race in conversations and perceptions and life in general, then you are beyond help.

I can't imagine the entitlement one must have to turn derail an important discussion for Black people into a conversation about their feelings. But it happens on every thread on BMN. Can Black people just exist and talk freely without references to imaginary purple and polka dot people

Ive not posted much on this board- is it a safe space for black people to talk or does it constantly get hijacked? This thread will be like a magnet to the Meghan haters. If we report will MN delete their posts?

I've always liked Meghan and I'm glad that Harry is happy with Meghan as his wife despite the awful racism & other issues they've had to & still have to endure.
Also I was sad to hear that Meghan was suicidal at times as I've been in that situation myself.

This feels like the only thread where I can safely express those opinions without being jumped on by the haters on MN or in RL...

Even my mum hates Meghan because she is convinced that Harry is unhappy. I asked her where she got those ideas and it's obvious- she watches Good Morning Britan & reads publications like the Sun, Hello & OK which fawn over the Royals.

She used to be quite critical of the Royals but now seems to think they can do no wrong.
As my mum left education at 15 she finds it hard to think outside of what she is told by the media. I'm trying to educate her in a way that doesn't seem patronising?

At this point it is evident the UK has no care for resolving racism. What do they stand to benefit? The whole thing is a mess.

Also those that claim to not realise that Meghan has a Black mother. It's neither here nor there. The royals knew and the UK press that were then racist to her knew! Whether she is darker skinned or not, the Royals (clearly from the racist comments/concerns) and the media (Straight Outta Comptom) cannot stand her proximity to blackness. Whoever made the comment earlier about had she had two black parents she wouldnt have got her foot in the door, is right. I personally believe that the Royal family as an institution are racist and Harry himself has probably had to do A LOT (!) of unlearning. I reckon he had no clue about racism until he had no choice through Meghan to wake up to it.

Oh my, true colours are shining through now! Am starting to believe that a lot of reporters are on the payroll because at which point would Jane think that what she said was ok? It must be defend the monarchy at all costs.

You are derailing the thread. Please stop. Either discuss MM and Hardy constructively and mindful that you are on BMN or stop responding. Omg, same here with mine. She watches Piers every morning and thinks it's Meghan's fault for marrying into the family because they're awful anyway and she should have known what she was getting into.

Sola was amazing this morning on GMB ( I watched the clip because people were sharing it on Twitter) . She shut Piers down and made him look like a fool. She handed him his arse on a plate, basically. It was divine. Don't think he'll be booking her again. Made me buy her book

My family across the country are sitting down to this tonight. Problem was none of us are that surprised at the allegations, but knowing with certainty that they're true is painful and surprisingly shocking.

I watched that Loose Women clip and was disgusted. Thank goodness Charlene White was there to counter these attempts to minimise the concerns about how dark Archie's skin would be as a generational thing and needing context.

Having several sit-down conversations to discuss how dark the baby's skin will be is patently and obviously racist. People should hang their heads in shame
