I'll start by stating I couldn't give two shits about two people I don't know.

However, I am finding so much humour in the 'non racist' vitriol from people that don't know them, and who seemingly don't care, yet can't get them out of their mouths!

I can't wait for this Oprah interview (that I might not even bother to watch) because I'll find the obsessive thread after thread on this absolutely hilarious.

To start us who have had a lifetime of this shit off, I thought I'd add to the frothing with this gem!

Kelechi, Shola and Gina were so on point and so unapologetically Black!

I'm hoping we can congrats here for our own analysis later!

I have never understood the vitriol against Meghan , look at P.G Wodehouse, his books were wall to wall Americans and actresses/dancers in the late 40's /early 50's. There is only one difference in this current marriage ( two if you take into consideration that Meghan isn't a fictional character ) and that is race. Which in 2021 is mindblowingly ridiculous.

anewdispensation · 08/03/2021 19:51

Thereby proving exactly what I was talking about. Yes I have met all of them. So?

HmmmmmmInteresting · 08/03/2021 19:51

The only thing I cannot agree with is, if you insinuate racism tell the whole story. It’s a serious accusation. Name & shame

Why does she need to name and shame. You can't tell the victim of racism that they HAVE to report it. She can do what she sees fit.

@Orchidflower1

Ok *@DeeCeeCherry* don’t take this the wrong way but if my child has a friend who is black, one is Asian, one mixed French ( so the same heritage) and one is white- why does my child need to “see” the colour. I’m not being goady, I’m just asking. I was brought up and I’ve raised my children in a country I’m not from to see people as people They are friends not colours. . I see nice people and I see twonks. Am I doing wrong? I really didn’t mean to offend.
Could you not read up on it if you genuinely want to know? That's what I did. Not really fair to be asking people to educate you for you.

@Quaagars

All white British people? Every single one of them? Have you actually met them all, or are you just judging people by race?

Oh, for goodness sake, if you're not one of the white people who indulges in this kind of behavior, it wasn't referring to you, was it?! So why take personal offence?!
I'm not.
You realise what board you're on, right?!
[

Exactly @Quaagars

I’ll never get amused by the fragility of SOME white people who will be better served fighting against racism instead of being concerned at being labelled one even tangentially.

It doesn’t always have to be about you @PheasantPlucker1 but feel free to be offended if you are a racist with a fragile empire colonialist mindset

@Orchidflower1

Am I do agree with the pp who said the person should be named. Not least because it casts a shadow over the queen.
I'm so bored of all the butt-hurt people bowing and scraping to the queen. Good for you if you think Meghan owes you an explanation. Now why don't you head off to one of the frothers threads and give them your insight. I'm sure it's not been said on there before.
frumpety · 08/03/2021 19:57

Name and shame ? Come on ! 75% of the white population of the UK all thought the same thing at the same time ! Probably/possibly wrong, but with his track record who could blame them.

Anyway must dash as my Moussaka is done Smile

HmmmmmmInteresting · 08/03/2021 19:58

As the op has not returned perhaps mnhq should just remove the thread if it’s upsetting people.

If it's upsetting you why don't you just remove yourself?

Has the queen sent you a telegram notifying you of her hurt? Whether it’s the queen or Andrew or whoever is irrelevant. Someone in the RF was racist to an unborn child. That’s pretty shocking and that is what we should all focus on in what’s supposed to be a modern society.
Blueberries0112 · 08/03/2021 20:00

“Thomas Markle is appearing on Piers Morgan show tomorrow morning.”

Sorry for invading but he didn’t help protect Archie either when he opened his mouth about his daughter, knowing the media will go after her even more without security for her son.... like they did to Diana.

What a loving father. Sad

FeminismIsForALLWomen · 08/03/2021 20:02

It's a bit ridiculous to expect a thread to be removed because it's upset some racists.

"I am more disappointed with rochelle Hume." @debbrianna , don't be disappointed with Humes; she never presented herself as being educated, eloquent or with professional distinction. She really is on a par with Holly.
Afua Hirsch and many others exceed where Rochelle and the likes can only fleetingly imagine the years of work and discernment that it takes to be professionally respected and astute.

But I digress from the topic of MM, apologies

According to the Mirror headlines, Oprah has already confirmed that Harry told her it is neither the Queen nor Philip.

I think Harry despite his terrible sadness had a sheltered upbringing as so was only exposed to what the family and the wider civil servants wanted him to experience. Even in the army he must surely have been treated differently so he would not have had the life experiences until he met Meg.
Sheltered? As a 12 year old traumatised child - whose mother had just died in horrific circumstances with the media photographing her as she was dying - he was made to walk through the streets behind his mother's dead body for an hour so that crowds of people and the media could gawk at him and film him.

It was not a few short paces, it was an agonisingly long procession he was made to walk. As a 12 year old child. Because of "duty".

In what alternate universe can his life accurately be described as sheltered?

ThrowawayNoKids · 08/03/2021 20:10

@Benelovencd

And WTF is casual racism. Exhausted with white people trying to determine what is and isn't racist when it isn't their experience and constantly shifting the goalposts whenever the ridiculous threshold they set is reached.
I completely agree with this sentiment. The calls for evidence regarding the Archie’s skin colour comments are upsetting also. What are they supposed to do? Go back in time with a camera?

A greater shadow than that cast by her protecting a child sexual abuser?

The way they're ridiculed and have their mental health questioned etc is awful too.
Prince Harry saw the way his mum was treated by the media, and sees it now happening to his wife and child, along with all the racism they have to deal with as well.
I don't blame them one bit to want to try and step back from it all.
Why shouldn't they speak about their feelings, fight back, or are they supposed to just sit back and take it all?
Then people wonder why people don't speak up about mental health, or bullying, or racism, in fear of being disbelieved or riduculed.
It's depressing

LifeOnHoldFor · 08/03/2021 20:14

Well, whatever the outcome of this is, I wish all 4 of them the very best of luck.

It doesn’t appear as though Harry’s family have made any effort to maintain contact with at least Archie, which speaks volumes

HmmmmmmInteresting · 08/03/2021 20:15

I'm addicted to watching clips of Piers Morgan getting handed his arse on a plate.

This particular gem, when he tried to attack a Scottish MSP who called Winston Churchill a white supremacist is salve for my soul today

Belle That's quite remarkable. Well done them. I'd like to see more of this across the whole nation.

debbrianna · 08/03/2021 20:15

@Orchidflower1

No no no *@Benelovencd* I wasn’t saying how you should feel.

I was saying that IMO you used the definition of gaslighting incorrectly. Gasllighting is awful, perpetual mind games which I have not done- I thought the calling the comment gaslighting was harsh not your feelings. You are perfectly entitled to feel however you like.

Omg stop! Yes it is gaslighting. Claiming a colour that does not exist within the racial dialogue is basically, telling some one to shut up. To see beyond racial equality when the topic is about race. How you feel about purple people is irelavant on this thread becusse they don't exist. By insisting and going on with the narrative, it's overriding the actual issues at hand. You are a problem and your problem is the fact you have refuse to acknowledge what mentioning people, green water the rainbow mean when denying the existence of racial equality.
