I'm pretty sure mine is mostly fat at the moment, I have a very warm and protected baby.

ISSY I am so sorry to hear your news and hope you have support in RL.

Kyuri · 22/04/2010 08:23

Thank you Lorelai

Best of luck with the scan loopymumsy look forward to the update later.

Feeling a bit bleurg this morning, every time I think the nausea is abating it surprises me again. Nursing a cup of tea which seems to be helping slightly.

Only 2 more days till the weekend - woohoo!!

Pidgin · 22/04/2010 08:34

Issy I'm really sorry to hear your news. What a horrible thing to happen.

Have taken the most recent list I could see on the old thread, added sweetgrapes and removed Issy.

Sweetgrapes - from your posts I took a guess that this was pg3 for you.

youremindmeofthebabe · 22/04/2010 09:04

I am a numpty

bunnygirl80 · 22/04/2010 09:08

Just marking my place.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 22/04/2010 09:09

Hi all,

thanks for starting the new thread. The title is very accurate, at least for me!

I was so sorry to finish the last thread on such a sad note. Poor Issy it sounds as though you and DH have truly been through the mill. I am so sorry this has happened again. I hope you get the help and support you need and that you will get to enlarge your little family in the very near future. ((()))

I'm glad to hear positive news from other people and especially all those who have had good 12 week scans! It's fantastic. I have had a ten week one which was fab and there will be one again at 13 weeks with the nuchal measurement etc. Two more weeks to wait though. Seems faaaar away!

So I guess lots of you are telling people now. Any suggestions/tips on nice ways to do it?

addictedisinthesecondtrimester · 22/04/2010 09:23

i'm fed up of theese stupid hormones. I'm in floods of tears over issys news and yesterday was ready to shout and scream on behalf of spookycharlotte.

I've started taking rennie as i have a constant gagging feeling at the moment, they have been a god send! They actually help me to feel normal. Anyone else found a cure for random pg symptoms?

Anyway off to have some pancakes

hmmSleep · 22/04/2010 09:52

Just bookmarking new thread

Ebb · 22/04/2010 09:54

Addicted I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a hormonal wreck! Seriously I could burst into tears at anything at the mo. Dp moaned I hadn't got any salad and that was just traumatic! I'm going to be in pieces at my scan whichever way it goes.

I'm fed up with the nausea and being exhausted. I have to admit, I don't enjoy being pregnant in the early stages. I'm not sure I could try again if anything goes wrong with this pregnancy.

4madboys · 22/04/2010 09:56

another one booking marking the new thread!

addicted the only thing that i have found that helps my sickness is to eat little and often pref something stodgy! carbs as well, ihave been eating loads of bagels!

kyuri lucky you able to drink tea, it just makes me feel like i am going to puke! cant cope with it at all!

umf · 22/04/2010 10:05

It's definitely spare tyre here. Comforted by Libra's idea of warm and protected baby!

Most annoying sympton atm is that I can't bear any fluids, except apple juice at a push. So must be drinking about 800 calories of juice a day. Can't bear tea of any kind or even water. Tastes so nasty and makes me want to puke. How stupid is a reproductive design that means you can't bear to drink water for weeks??

Can anyone think of anything that might help?? I had miso soup for a few days but went off that too.

tanmu82 · 22/04/2010 10:08

Sorry for your loss Issy addicted I can beat your age gap. My DH is 24 years older than his youngest brother - in fact, his brother is only 1 month older than our DD and 14 months younger than our DS!

tanmu82 · 22/04/2010 10:14

umf I can't bear much fluids either, but have found that the orange high juice from either waitrose or sainsbury's really helps to quench my thirst without a sacchriney after taste that you get from most squash....

Booboobedoo · 22/04/2010 10:16

umf - if you're managing apple juice, maybe Appletiser will help you. Apple juice makes me gag atm, but the bubbles in the Appletiser seem to relieve my symptoms while I'm drinking it.

I can drink tea from lunchtime onwards though, which is a relief.

Thanks for the new thread lorelai, and good luck with your scan loopsymummy. addicted - that spookycharlotte thread is shocking, isn't it? Poor woman.

Link for those who've missed it. (It's long now, though).

Been sick twice this morning, but just managed to keep some Snackajacks down.

I'm 12+3 now, and am starting to get the sinking feeling that it's just going to drag on and on like last time.

Booboobedoo · 22/04/2010 10:18

Oh, and wrt to the thread title, I've gained ten pounds - count 'em - since I conceived.

It's not the baby either - it's the constant conveyor-belt of food I need to stay on my feet all day.

Ho hum.

Kyuri · 22/04/2010 10:22

umf I take it you've tried diluting juice? I've been drinking lime cordial and water to make a change from straight water.

The other thing I have been inhaling is skimmed milk - double benefits of counting towards fluid intake and also topping up calcium levels.

Another thing which is quite nice is Rooibos/Red Bush tea? Caffeine-free and quite a nice taste.

Last suggestion is Apple Tango - which is low in cals and yummy! It does have aspartame and it is fizzy but looking at a risk/benefit profile it's probably more beneficial for you to be staying hydrated than any potential concern associated with the aspartame/fizziness.

4madboys how horrible that you are off tea! I am such a tea demon I think I would be in mourning if it were me, although I have forced myself to cut down to 2 mugs a day (the decaffinated tea is pants). Sympathies!

tanmu82 · 22/04/2010 10:23

booboobedoo I'm 12+3 today too and I've gained around 5 pounds and I'm convinced too, that it is the food I am having to consume to stave off the nausea. In fact, it is worse now than ever before and brushing my teeth in the morning has me dry retching for 10 mins.....bitter lemon fizzy drnk seems to help when I'm at my worse - or coke (a cola!)

rollerbaby · 22/04/2010 10:36

Hello everyone, new thread, new trimester...

Boo step away from the scales - I've hidden mine. It will only make you feel worse. I've also cleared out my wardrobe so there is only stuff I CAN wear, rather than miserable that nothing fits anymore and I just look slightly bloated.

Got my NHS dating scan next week when I will be 13+2. I've had a private nuchal which was fine with a risk of 1 in 7000 but wondering if the scan will be a nuchal also. The letter says dating which I thought was a bit odd.

I want to see the baby as much as I can!
