Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

Hi WYG, I'll join you!

mrscrocoduck · 12/12/2009 14:48

can i join?! I'm 7 weeks today I think! And feeling pretty sick (luckily no vomit yet though) mostly at night and in the morning. Am finding it hard with a 22 month old who seems to have more and more energy every day!

I think I'm due on 29th July but don't see the midwife for booking appt until Dec 22nd. Let's hope she doesn't cancel!

((any real lifers who know me - please don't mention this. TOP SECRET!)) x

GhoulsAreLoud · 12/12/2009 14:52

Hello! I'm on there too and can't keep up either.

I'll be 11 weeks on Monday, with number 2.

DH, DD and I have all been at home ill all week - we're paying for private testing to find out if it's swine flu because I have been agonising over having the vaccine when pregnant. Initial results say it was a type A influenza virus, we should know if it was swine flu by Tuesday. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that it was!

tobago04 · 12/12/2009 16:45

Hi can i join too please, the other thread is so fast i can't keep up either, plus nothing much to report at the mo,just the usual ms and feeling knackered,i've got two dds [3+4yrs],think i'm about 7wks,not seeing mw til the 5th jan, anyway thats me x

WestYorkshireGirl · 12/12/2009 20:48

Hi there Bettybutterknife, mrscrocoduck, Ghoulsareloud and tobago.

I am 8 weeks with my first so all a bit new to me. I am immensely tired and feel sick occasionally, but no actual sickness. From those who have been pg before, is there usually a time it starts?

I saw my Midwife last week and am waiting to hear about date for scan so not much else to report.

Ghoulsareloud - hopefully your haven't had swine flu. I am definitely having the vaccine after 3 months and am hoping I stay clear till then.

WestYorkshireGirl congrats! I haven't been sick with either pregnancy but read in my 'Pregnancy Bible' (good book!) that the symptoms can appear immediately or sometime around the 6th week. Maybe you'll be lucky and just feel tired and queasy for a while. I'm not sure how women cope with full-on sickness....

kinnies · 12/12/2009 23:42

Helloooooooooo can I come over too??

Think I'm 7+ weeks and have hyperemesis (morning sicknes directly from the devil himself) My MW thinks I'm about 9 weeks but what does she know lol!
Anyway hope you are all well

tobago04 · 13/12/2009 08:23

Yeah i'd say from about 6wks too, hope everyone is not feeling too bad today x

ThumbleBells · 13/12/2009 08:30

hello - I think I might just fit into your club, but my EDD is probably 31/7/10, so only just! I did look at the other AN thread but it seemed too "everyone already knows everyone" and, as you say, fast to keep up, so maybe I'll get on better here? I think I'm nearly 7w pg, no sickness yet (but I didn't have any last time either) but am pretty tired and my appetite has dropped off.

Am in Australia, so keep odd hours - if anyone needs a late night chat, I'm likely to be about!

FactsAndFigures · 13/12/2009 22:37

Hi I'd like to join too, please, for the same reason that I can't keep up with other thread!

I'm 10+3 and apart from feeling sick most evenings I've not actually been sick - this mirrors my last pregnancy, where everything was fine and DC#1 is now 25 months

I couldn't make my booking in appt with MW this Weds, so it's been put back to Mon 21st, which is at home - should be interesting with my 25 month old running havoc at the same time I have a private nuchal fold scan booked for Tues 22nd and we plan to break our news to our parents over lunch on Christmas Day!

lifeistooshort · 14/12/2009 20:54

Hi WestYorkshireGirl you must have been reading my mind. Can't keep up with the other July thread either.

I am starting to get excited as I have my first MW appointment on Thursday. Oh the joys of peeing in a jar and being prodded and poked and stucked a needle in...

lifeistooshort · 14/12/2009 20:57

Ghouls sorry you have been unwell. Those private testing thing, can they only test you straighafter the bug or can they test your immunity at any time. Am agonising too about SF vaccine

WestYorkshireGirl · 14/12/2009 21:18

Hello to the newcomers - nice to see you.

I had my first MW appt the other week and nothing much happened other than she told me to expect a letter about a scan and she would come and book me in Jan. I have now settled into being pg which is a bit weird!

My nausea has been very quiet over the last week and apart from needing to eat a lot, feeling tired, and amazingly sore breasts I feel normal! I keep expecting to wake up being sick everywhere as some people seem to be really suffering. However, I am only 8 weeks and am aware it could all change in a flash!!

I am finishing work on Fri and I will be more able to tell people when I get back in Jan as I'll be 12 weeks. It's hard keeping secrets!

I think I will get the SW flu vaccine, but it's a worry isn't it?

OP posts:
mrscrocoduck · 15/12/2009 19:18

ughhhhh - know I shouldn't moan as some of you are being sick but I'm finding this nausea a real pain. Didn't have it first time round (how smug was I?!) and now it's payback time. I always seem to get it in teh early hours round about 4am and lie awake trying not to be sick for an hour.

ANd eating... have already put on 4lbs!!!!!! All my fat cells seem to have woken up and made it their duty to multiply faster than bacteria on a damp sponge. Anyone else feeling like a fatso already??

lovechoc · 15/12/2009 19:31

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow but haven't head a peep from a MW yet, even though I told GP at around 4.5 weeks. If I don't hear anything by end of next week I'm definately phoning, want a scan date like everyone else! If it's your second baby is everything a bit more relaxed in terms of communication??? Or is just where I live...

Have a 28 month old already.

Yes I agree mrscrocoduck I am eating like there's no tomorrow, so don't feel too bad, you're not alone! I can't fit into any of my usual clothing, so in tracksuit bottoms all the time

Hello everyone,
I know how you feel lovechoc i'm not seeing mw until 5th jan and by then i'll be about 12wks so god knows when i'll get a scan
I feel sick all the time,it just wears off so i think i'll have something to eat then it makes me feel sick again.Aaargh!
I'm so tired too, actually looking forward to dd1 breaking up from school so i don't have to do the school run

lovechoc · 16/12/2009 10:34

tobago04 don't feel so bad now that someone else is late getting their booking-in done. seems I'll be like you then, late appointment, late scan etc. Not a happy bunny

Yes, the nausea is awful. I keep eating to get that horrid taste away aswell!

mrscrocoduck · 16/12/2009 13:47

good to know i'm not the only fatty out there!

Just been to doctor to pick up my first urine sample pot. Nice! Then it's off to my horrible midwife next tues... maybe she's retired since my first. Fingers crossed!!!

Page62 · 16/12/2009 13:54

oooh i'll join this one too!
i think i am 9+4, sick like a dog (7-8x a DAY), and have lost 2 lbs so far. really miserable! work full time as well so have been really useless.
this happened with past 2 pregnancies (now DD who is 6 and DS who is 3) but i still put on 4 stone with each one towards the end

LilJ · 16/12/2009 15:13

Oh can I join as well please? I work full time and have a 4 year old DS so not much time to keep up with busy threads.

I'm 9wks+4 and have my first midwife appt tomorrow. Scan scheduled in for 4th Jan. Have been feeling pretty lousy and very tired. I also have a rather large bump for just 9 weeks - slightly worried there might be more than one in there!

Look forward to getting to know all of you on the 'slow' July '10 thread!

J

WestYorkshireGirl · 16/12/2009 18:46

Well, I too am getting a bit large (but not in the baby department) - it's all round my middle! Feel most demoralised about this and am going to need some new trousers soon, but not for the bump!

I need to eat every few hours or the nausea takes over, but generally have been doing quite well at healthy snacks like oat cakes, fruit, raisins - I've even gone over to brown rice and pasta (which tastes like cardboard - urgh!) Oh well, I guess you have to 'go with the flow'!

I am very pleased we have some experienced mothers on here for us newbies! Hats off to you being pg with another little person needing your attention - I only have top worry about DH, dog and cats.

I have booked myself in for a bra fitting at M&S on Sat - my breasts are excruciating, especially in bed at night. I think they do look a bit bigger so thought I ought to go and check out maternity bras, but I bet they're a bit grim?!

Sorry to hear you're being sick so much page62 - finger's crossed it gets a bit better and some of you get your scans and mw appts soon. I haven't had a scan date yet, but not 12 weeks till w/c 4 Jan so expect to get caught up in Christmas delays.

tobago04 · 16/12/2009 20:04

Hi newbies,
wow page62 i take my hat off to you, working with 2 dc and pregnant, really feel i should'nt be complaining, nice to see i'm not the only one on no.3
Went to the docs today as i keep getting thrush[arghhh] and thought i'd just ask if i could book a scan before i see the midwife on the 5th as i'll be about 12wks then, but he said no 12 wks is fine to see the midwife hope theres not a long waiting list
Anyway not feeling too bad today except for the thrush, hope everyone else is ok

lifeistooshort · 16/12/2009 21:10

Hi ladies

I am on number 3 too (DD 4) (DS18mths). I haven't been too sick, just vaguely nauseous but I do feel for all of you that are. I was only sick a few times with DS and it was awful so I cannot imagine how hard and exhausting it must be. I started off this pregancy really well by not being to hungry. But now I eat all the time and am always hungry. I daren't weight myself as it is the path to feeling fat and depressed so I am living in denial.

Emsie I am due about the same time as you (19-21)

LilJ I have my first MW appointment tomorrow as well (about time, I am 9 weeks I am sure I saw a MW and was booked in much sooner with DD and DS). No scan date for me yet, so I hope I will get one tomorrow as I am a bit concerned with the festive season that I won't ever receive a letter

WWG I need new bras too. For some reasons the ones I had for DD and DS are already too small [denial emoticon]

I am a bit worried to tell work and am trying to hold off for as long as I can (although it isn't easy as I already have a sizeable bump). I think I am due a promotion iminently and I am worried that if the cat comes out of the bag before the announcement is made, then it won't happen for a very long time or indeed this side of maternity leave (which is a very long way away)

Anyway enough rambling from me

WestYorkshireGirl · 16/12/2009 21:27

Tobago04

I've suffered bad cases of Thrush for years and have always had to have the tablet and cream, but when had antibiotics recently, they wouldn't let me have the tablet now am pg. I tried live yoghurt (eating) and coated on a tampon. I managed to stave off the attack without any creams for the first time ever. Other thing that helps is salt baths. Good luck!
