HEY EVERYONE.

my due date is 18/09 after 4 years of trying. i'm scared sh*tless 24/7 lol.

Lilice · 21/04/2020 09:53

@ShiningStarz I just had a couple of newborn sizes and my husband had to go buy more as soon as I was discharged from hospital. Some people dont even need them, so I'd say just buy a few and go buy more if need be. I think I even had some tiny baby sizes that they wore for the first week or so. My two weighed around 6 lbs when born, and they always lose a little the first week or two. But if you have a 9 lbs baby, they will fit into 0 to 3 months quicker

MooseWL · 21/04/2020 09:58

@flameprincess I'm feeling the same as you. My 20 week scan is 3 weeks away and I feel like it's such a long time since my last scan, especially as at my 16 week midwife appointment she said they don't check the heartbeat until 25 weeks! I'm not feeling any movement so feeling constantly anxious and just want to know everything is fine!

Welcome Rosie, congratulations! I think we're all a bit terrified 😂

ShiningStarz · 21/04/2020 10:08

Welcome and congrats @rocknrosie yep
We are all feeling a bit like that!! I was also trying for a longtime like you. I'm 38 so my age makes me extra nervous now I'm classes as an ancient mum to be!!
Hope you are feeling excited too ❤️

ShiningStarz · 21/04/2020 10:10

Thanks @Lilice @sianyflewog that's great to know. Iv bought 2 items in newborn so I think I'll get a few up to 1 month and then load of 0-3 👍😊

rocknrosie · 21/04/2020 10:20

@ShiningStarz so strange! its hard isnt it to believe its actually happening when you get the good news for a change!

have you bought much?

Sunshinexx95 · 21/04/2020 10:52

Hi everyone ❤️❤️
I had my 20+0 scan today and it went wonderful everything seemed perfect with my little peanut and we found out the gender ❤️😍 !!!!
We are having a baby ..... GIIIIIIIRL 😍 I couldn't hold my tears I was wishing for a baby girl as a first born child and my wish came true today. She was lovely having her finger in her mouth and then covering her face with her two hands I was so emotional 😭😭😭
How is everyone doing?
❤️🌹

MooseWL · 21/04/2020 11:00

Aw congratulations on your girl sunshine! I'm so excited to find out! Are you going to start decorating noe now you know?
I'm ignoring everything until after the 20 week scan!

Piper1879 · 21/04/2020 11:14

@Sunshinexx95 congratulations!! A girl how lovely !! It's amazing to see how they've grown isn't it ?

I'm going to get a few more bits now , I have a few newborn and 0-3, plus some 6-9 month stuff that I couldn't help myself 🤣

Hopefully painting within the next few weeks, trying to get as much as I can whilst I can still afford it , I'm furloughed atm and going to be a single parent , so my wages are hit big time 😔 but managing to upcylce a few things I already have which is good

I looked at snuzpod but my bed is too low so I'm getting the red kite nebula next to me , it also goes into a playpen which will be useful just got to hope the cats don't end up sleeping in it 😂😂

ChipsAreLife · 21/04/2020 11:33

Ah congrats @Sunshinexx95 so pleased everything went well and baby is ok. I'm also 20+0 today! Scan is Thursday 🥳

@rocknrosie welcome and congrats!!! Hope you're feeling ok?

Re clothes. I would get a few bits on newborn as 0-3 will swamp them to start. I find some places are bigger than others too like M&S newborn is quite generous. My two were just under 9lbs and were in newborn for a month. They tend to lose a bit of weight the first week too.

I would really recommend a car seat you can take out whilst baby is in it. Mine were in there's for a year but it makes life sooo much easier if they fall asleep or youre going to a shop/cafe for a short time.

Fantastic news @Sunshinexx95 over the moon for you. I'm kinda jealous of the ones finding out what they are having!! This week can't go quick enough, my scan is a week today!! I'm wishing away time !! 🙈

ShiningStarz · 21/04/2020 12:04

@rocknrosie it's very exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!! I had a Debenhams gift card I decided to use last weekend, it got me a few clothes. Just wanted to spend it incase they go bust! We have picked our car seat and buggy, spend ages researching all the varieties and adaptors etc! So will prob do more shopping once I reach 24 weeks I think as I have another scan then. Have you bought anything ?

sianyflewog · 21/04/2020 12:47

Congratulations @Sunshinexx95 - I’ve got my beautiful boy and I’d love to have a girl. I’m pretty sure this is a boy too though, the two pregnancies are pretty much exactly the same. I even refer to the baby as he 😂 My scan is next week - I can’t wait!

@shiningstarz I think I only bought 1 lot of up to one month in preparation as I was expecting him to be big (I had growth scans all the way through as he was ‘big’ - he weighed 7 lbs 14), and my mother in law had to go out and buy more the day he was born.

Congratulations @rocknrosie, wishing you a very healthy pregnancy for your long awaited baby ❤️

emma278 · 21/04/2020 13:05

Congrats @Sunshinexx95 absolutely thrilled for you. Can you believe we are all getting to the 20 week stage, it seems yesterday we were hoping to see 3+ on the clearblues!!! Xx

HugeAgeGap · 21/04/2020 15:22

@emma278 so funny about the 3+ weeks on the clearblue! What a dramatic milestone that was back in the day 😂

Lazydaisydaydream · 21/04/2020 15:36

@ShiningStarz my son was 8lb5 and wore newborn for a few weeks. Mainly because as he was still all curled up his legs didn't even make it into the legs of the bigger sizes haha. I bought most of the smaller clothes in eBay bundles last time, so even if he never wore them it wouldn't matter. As I wasn't expecting to have anymore children we sold them all on afterwards so I'm going to have to buy again this time!

@Sunshinexx95 congratulations! Lovely news. Will you decide on a name before she's born do you think?

I've been called in for another scan this week so they can take pictures from other angles etc of the babies bowel. So more waiting Sad just fed up of feeling worried all the time! Just want to know that everything is OK. Fingers crossed.

ShiningStarz · 21/04/2020 15:54

Thanks @Lazydaisydaydream it's good they are getting you back in though to rescan you. Hope you are ok xx

Lilice · 21/04/2020 16:33

@flameprincess congrats on your little boy @Sunshinexx95 contrats, so happy your wish came true! Glad everything is well with your babies

Lilice · 21/04/2020 16:35

@Piper1879 oh yes that's a good point! My bed is quite low too so I'll have to be careful with which next to me I get

Lilice · 21/04/2020 16:36

Welcome @rocknrosie is this your first?

Lilice · 21/04/2020 16:40

@emma278 so glad those days are being me!!! Ttc was nerve wracking!

Lilice · 21/04/2020 16:42

@Lazydaisydaydream hopefully everything will be fine 🤞 hope you're ok and you'll be scanned very soon

flameprincess · 21/04/2020 18:58

Congrats Sunshine how exciting!

With my first he was only 5lb10 so the newborn stuff barely fit him and I remember having to get more - he wasn't in 0-3 months until about 2 months old. It's only really sleepsuits and vests you need at that stage though so you would still spend relatively little. I had a Next voucher from a friend on my birthday thats just been sitting there as I don't like their clothes but I do love their kids stuff so may spend it on that :)

ChipsAreLife · 21/04/2020 22:01

@Lazydaisydaydream well sounds like they're on it at least. They may be able to give you more information then too hopefully. D
