I’m going to the supermarket later so intend to get lots of yummy healthy and varied snacks to see me through this lol!! I seem to want things like bacon and sausages a lot at the moment, though i’m not sure i’d call it a full blown craving

Working from home is making not snacking so tough! I keep trying to get fruit and yoghurt etc in but I eat those things and then just want Jaffa cakes or crisps as well anyway. Not helping!

Try red almond cut up with almond butter spread on it! It's delish and because of the good almond butter protein it keeps me going for longer !!
I throw some flaxseed mix into my yoghurt.
Nature valley bars are nice too.
I love crops!!! My DP stopped
Me from buying Pringles the other day 🙈

@WillowT nothing weird but I've been craving tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, and scones with peanut butter. What's your cravings?
@pangolin84 I asked for my mat form at the 20 week scan but they wouldn't give it to me. I emailed the community midwives to book my next appointment, as their landline number says to ring only if it's an emergency. I dont even have my midwife's number. Of course my email went unanswered. I'm feeling mentally drained at times 🤯

@pangolin84 I forgot to mention, my employer (a university so very standard) just needs your notification of pregnancy, due date and date u want to commence Mat leave by the end of pregnancy week 25, then they ask that the MatB form follows as soon as is practical afterwards (I.e before you actually commence your mat leave) so don't worry to much about getting the form to employer if there is a delay with u getting hold of it xx

I work in the NHS and they ask for the maternity leave application form along with the original mat B1 form at the same time and this is to be received before the end of 25 weeks. Seems a bit strict. I’ll try ringing my midwife tomorrow and see if I can pick it up before then. I’m only 22 weeks so got a little bit of time to get it sorted. I’m going to try to get a follow up scan to look at baby’s heart as well - I feel like I should still get the standard care. Especially if they’re opening non-essential shops in the next few weeks!

@Lilice I haven't had anything weird. The main thing I am addicted to is breadsticks! I ate them a lot to help with nausea in the early days and well I haven't stopped!! Recently pizza and ice cream I have been craving but nothing weird (which I am a little disappointed about 😂)

No cravings for me, it might be the weather but I don't have much of an appetite which isn't a bad thing really as I'm not doing much to prevent weight gain.

I've tried google but didn't help, a baby monitors necessary from birth or can I wait for the January sales? He will be in a next to me crib at night and with me in the day so not sure when it would be used in the early days

Morning, I am so angry at next!! I spent ages checking for sizes and when they finally came into stock I ordered everything I needed! After 2 failed delivery attempts, they email me to say thank you for you for your return and here's your refund. I didn't ask for a return or refund!!!! I'm so annoyed as all those items are out of stock on their website!! All the other companies leave deliveries at front door!!! Arghhh!!!

@Roxy8203 I asked this before and someone said not needed until little
One is on their own room. How are you feeling??
I thought being older I'd have some sort of pains and moans but I feel great and no cravings!!! Just a super hungry and insomnia!! Hence I'm sending this at 530, already been up an hr ☹️
I'v got a consultant appt this morning, 25 weeks today. 🤞

@ShiningStarz I think I'm going to wait and get a monitor in the January sales then, might get a good deal.
I'm find, no cravings, no issues really just a little heartburn in the evenings. My 25 week midwife ended up being over the phone last week but she said the rest will be face to face. I guess consultant appointments are different.
Annoying about your next order, their clothes are lovely. The shops are reopening in a couple weeks so may go shopping with my other half at some point 🤞🏼

Has anyone got recommendations on the best car seat with links? Want something lightweight for carrying to and from car.

Report
ShiningStarz · 27/05/2020 15:20

@Emmy2020 what are links?

I got the maxi cosi pebble pro. Never got to see it before ordering but iv lifted my nieces and nephews from other maxi cosi's. Wouldn't say they were light but my plan is to carry in and out too.
It's on offer at 169 (£30 off) on kiddies kingdom website

ShiningStarz · 27/05/2020 15:21

Ps @Emmy2020 I bought the base with it as a bundle so can click in and out of car. Im not sure if that's means links.. 🤔
Also got the adaptor for pram so can click it on too. I got carried away! I'm stopping now lol until nearer the time!!!!

I had an appt this morning - iv gone private as I am not far off 40 and after years of trying and failing, this wee surprise is a complete miracle and I needed the extra piece of mind.
I asked the consultant about the nhs appts being either over phone / quick Hosp visit. He said from 30 weeks is when they monitor growth and position of baby. If there's ever any concerns just phone the maternity unit emergency sept. Getting blood pressure and urine check is important from 30 weeks and if hospital don't do it, perhaps gp would. Oh and monitoring movement xx

@ShiningStarz Hope your appointment went well! I just turned 40 and my last two appointments have been over the phone but I do have one next week at hospital as it’s to discuss with a consultant if there will be anything different with me now being 40 ie if I’ll have more scans or appointments or anything else I need to know. Will be nice to see someone as it’s such a gap between seeing midwives etc and it’s not the same over the phone is it?

Hello! I had a 25 week app today, normally wouldn't as third baby but consultant wanted me. It was so lovely! Wasn't community midwife but in the day assessment unit. They were so lovely and reassuring, after being fobbed off by my midwife I feel much happier! Baby measuring on the larger end still but that's ok as it'll come out the sun roof 😝

@Emmy2020 we've always used maxi cosi and will have the pebble plus this time round.

@Roxy8203 yeah you really won't need one for the first few months as you don't really leave them alone so you can hear them!

@shiningstarz glad your app went well. Annoying about the order but sounds more like the courier fault? Hopefully now stores are starting to reopen the pressures for online stock will stop

Re eating I'm also off veg. So strange as I normally love it! I'm forcing it down me but it can make me sick. My craving is icy cold water and really cold drinks. Anything refreshing really.

@ChipsAreLife thanks. We've decided to wait for the jan sales.

Have you tried frozen grapes?

All I am craving is sugar sugar and more sugar 🙈🙈. When I was pregnant with my son all I wanted was salty things. I am also having to force down the veg. Fruit at least is nice and sweet so I can manage that. Thank god I passed my diabetes test!

@ChipsAreLife and @ShiningStarz glad your apps went well!

@Lazydaisydaydream I can’t get enough sugar either. Literally burst into tears the other morning as there was no orange juice left for with breakfast and it’s all I wanted.

I'm definitely craving sweet! Just opened a big supersized bar of dairy milk 😋

@Roxy8203 oh no I I haven't! I will give those a go thank you.

Ha ha to the sugar. I was like that with my first two... both girls. Less so this time so wondering if it's a boy. Who knows though it all seems like a big guess!

@ShiningStarz so tempted to go out and get a dairy milk now 😂. I’ve tried not having them in the house but it just means poor OH gets demands for cherry bakewells on his way home 🙈

@ChipsAreLife that’s interesting you craved sweet with the girls. We’re still keeping it a surprise but I’ve basically checked every list of old wives tales ever and the results are a real mixed bag. So excited for September to get here to meet my baby!!
