Oh are you having your 3rd son too then? @newbyxx

Hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday.

Really surprised myself at being able to resist the lush red wine that FIL had bought especially for the roast lamb! Love a decent glass of red.

Currently in bed waiting for DH and DS1 to bring up breakfast in bed!

@Twittlebee no this is my first baby 😊

Twittlebee · 26/12/2019 07:46

Ah sorry misinterpreted the 3 💙 to mean son number 3 @newbyxx !

hjbows88 · 26/12/2019 09:58

Hi all! Hubby bought me a pregnancy and breast feeding pillow :) we told all our family this week, mostly yesterday and it made it the most perfect day.

Did anyone have a little Xmas tipple? I tried to have a tiny (less than half a glass) of wine Xmas eve but had a few sips and couldn’t face any more. Yesterday managed about a half glass of champagne and then felt guilty all day so don’t think I’ll bother again! :(

chocolate26 · 26/12/2019 10:04

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday!

I got quite a few pregnancy/baby presents! DH got me a pregnancy pillow and some burts bees baby bath stuff. My DM & DF got us a cute swaddle blanket, a jumper that will fit baby next winter and some socks. DSis got us the guess how much I love you book and some cute trousers/leggings 😃 baby is first grandchild and first great grandchild so everyone is overly excited.

AmyMaria2 · 26/12/2019 12:19

Next to me crib, bouncer, play mat, temperature egg, Ewan sheep, silver cross pram, swaddle, baby grows, Tommy tippee bottle and steriliser set, pregnancy and feeding pillow, isofix base, baby bath, nappy bin and a baby first aid kit!

Think it's safe to say we went mad on the Boxing Day and mother care closing down sales🙈 feels good to have so many of the big things though. And all for half the price we would have got them for usually! So good to know the gender💙 makes shopping a lot easier.

Hello! Hope this is ok to post 🙂 I'm a June mum from another thread and wanted to let anyone know that if they want a FB group we have one for MN June (ish) mums started by @Twittlebee 🙂 it's totally secret so no one can see you're a member in case you're not ready to announce!

If you PM me your email address I think I can add you.

I'm due 21st with #3 - very excited to be doing this again but have a little less time online this time round!

Zoey92 · 26/12/2019 13:32

@hjbows88 i tried a small amount of Asti topped up with lemonade but just couldn't drink it. Resorted to a cuppa with my dinner 😂

Smiffette · 26/12/2019 13:48

@AmyMaria2 wow that's lots of great stuff! I almost popped into Mothercare earlier to look at Moses Baskets but didn't, then when I got home my friend text and said I could have theirs and the stand which they bought in May and their baby wasn't in it long at all! So lucky and kind of them! One less thing to get and first proper baby thing to be in the house 😊

AmyMaria2 · 26/12/2019 15:02

@Smiffette I know, we always said we would wait until after Christmas but I didn't think we would get so much so soon lol, they had Moses baskets for £10 in mothercare near me, but that's so kind of your friend & lucky you didn't pop in! X

Pegase · 26/12/2019 17:11

@hjbows88 I had one glass of champagne yesterday which I sipped over the course of about 3 hours and a half glass today. Need so much champagne when this baby is out in June! Sigh!

Pegase · 26/12/2019 17:12

@AmyMaria2 where did you get all those bargains?

peetieswie · 26/12/2019 17:43

We haven't got much storage space at the moment (we have tenants in separate part of the house but will convert it into one after maternity leave.. Need that rent during maternity!) so we're trying not to buy much. So many of my friends have babies they're giving us a load of stuff anyway, although sometimes I think that'll make it a shame not to buy anything new. Husband's colleague is giving us an icandy pram... Anyone know if they're any good?

Blizy · 26/12/2019 20:08

I very anxiously bought a next to me crib today. It was a great price, but I'm very anxious buying anything before my anomaly scan.

Pegase · 26/12/2019 20:56

@Blizy I feel exactly the same re: 20 week scan but also worried about finances!

Twittlebee · 26/12/2019 21:07

Yeah I've not bought nor planning to buy anything in the sales, going to wait until baby is on his way home with us before we buy anything. Nothing that cant be picked up easily and quickly really. Also wonder how much savings are really to be had, there are sales throughout the year etc.

Sounds like a sensible plan to get through mat leave actually @peetieswie

hjbows88 · 26/12/2019 21:25

@peetieswie I think the iCandy are supposed to be very good!

AmyMaria2 · 26/12/2019 23:49

@Pegase mainly in mothercare, their website shut down today so they had to get rid of everything in store to make room for the things from their wearhouse. Loads of really good offers, next to me crib was originally £130, we picked it up for £45! Also got a Motorola camera baby monitor down to £56 from £165! x

UKtoSK · 27/12/2019 08:00

@AmyMaria2 wow those Mothercare deals sound amazing. I’m so jealous I’m not in the UK! Can’t even ask my mum to get anything for me because she lives in Spain now.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x

MsMiaWallace · 27/12/2019 09:34

What travel systems are we thinking of getting?
I can't decide.

Twittlebee · 27/12/2019 09:42

I dont recommend the silver cross range really @MsMiaWallace - we had that with DS1 and I really didnt get on with it, so heavy, bulky and hard to steer. Basket was a good size. The bassinet bit was lovely and secure feeling for when DS was small but when we moved him into the buggy style bit, it just wasnt right for us.

Joie360 spin I highly recommend though! Really secure, safe and helps ensure no awkward back twists
