I’m sleeping ok-ish. I’ve always woken up for the loo at least twice (before pregnancy) and this has increased to an average of 3 times now, but what I am noticing is when I wake up around 2/3am I can feel the baby kicking and moving around a lot which keeps me awake for a while (mainly because I’m enjoying it and smiling away to myself!)

Good luck for everyone with scans today and this week. Mine is next Monday!

19+2

I'm having sleep problems too - waking around 4-5 for an hour or two. Not too worried about occasionally being in my back. More of an issue in the 3rd trimester, and as someone said above, waking up is your body's way of correcting you. Further along, it starts to feel very uncomfortable to be in your back - I used to go all dizzy last time.
We spent ages hunting in the loft yesterday for my big pregnancy pillow, but it was nowhere to be found!

QforCucumber · 27/01/2020 10:18

I had the pelvic/hip pain too - putting a pillow between my knees is helping massively! I also did a youtube Pregnancy yoga video last night and realised how tight my muscles have got - will try to keep that up in the hope it helps come birth, feels amazing today!

LillianFullStop · 27/01/2020 10:23

Hi all - insomnia and back pain hitting me over here as well. As well as my allergies kicking off so I'm having to sleep with extra pillows to elevate my head - it is making the back pain worse though!

I had my whooping cough vaccine straight after my 20w scan as they had a walk in at the antenatal clinic.

Feeling really emotional lately too - anyone else? We had our 20w scan a week ago and we are having a boy! 💙 I don't mean to scare anyone but although everything heart, legs, lungs etc looked perfect with bub they detected a cleft lip or palate. I'm still trying to get my head around it and I have a follow up scan this week. I don't know what it all means so I hope they have more information when I go back to see them.

@AndddddHereWeGoagain you mentioned your first DC had a cleft? Did you find out at the scan or at birth?

Kez437 · 27/01/2020 10:42

Hi all, 20 week scan tomorrow and feeling the nerves now, anyone else have theirs tomorrow? Any tips or things to ask/look out for from those who have already been?
Sleeping is also becoming an issue for me too, I just cannot seem to get comfortable. I normally sleep on my back and do suffer from lower back and hip pain and sleeping on my left is definitely not helping that. I suppose we'll all have to get used to the constant exhaustion lol

AndddddHerewegoagain · 27/01/2020 11:42

@LillianFullStop yea my son was born with a cleft lip and palate confirmed at my 20 week scan. Please message me if you want. I know its really scarey now but it will be fine. My son is almost 3 and is perfect

AmyMaria2 · 27/01/2020 12:58

@Kez437 I had my 20 week scan it was lovely to see baby again, everything they saw looked fine but have to go back this week for a second one as they couldn't see all they needed too, so I hope baby cooperates more as it's worried me that they don't know everything is okay yet! I hope your baby is cooperating & you see everything is all okay, enjoy it! Xx

Blizy · 27/01/2020 13:27

I've been signed off work until after maternity leave. My spd is so bad, my pelvis is twisted and my left side is lower than my right. It's impossible for me to keep doing my job. I'm gutted about it but on the plus side I get to spend more time with my ds before the baby arrives.
My second attempt at the harmony test also didn't work due to insufficient foetal dna in my blood. I've decided on no more testing and will wait until birth for Down syndrome diagnosis.

Sbd11 · 27/01/2020 13:35

Sorry I'm late to this thread! I'm due june 14th and just had my scan today! :)

umabb · 27/01/2020 13:37

Just came back from the 20wk scan and baby was quite cooperative and they got to see all that they needed to check which is great. Such a relief that everything is normal and double confirmed that we are having a boy hehe. @LillianFullStop we saw the lips which are fine but we were told that at this stage it is still too early to check palate - strange that they have different messages. I've got a private anatomy scan booked for next Wednesday too - the husband got carried away and booked a whole scan package while we hit 12wks. Anyway will see what the other side say.

I asked whether they can check the cervix length and fundal height and the answer was no. I was told that if no previous problems, they won't check cervix at all and said MW will check fundal as part of the routine.

I was hoping I could get whooping cough jab straight after too as a lot of us here did but unfortunately they cant do that. Booked me in to have it done a week later. I also asked for MAT1B form and I was told I'll need to get that from gp when I'm 25wks. It's all different arrangements. From nhs point of view, I'm all done until baby is going to pop! But again, I'm so glad everything is smooth so far.

Good luck to all of you who are having the scan soon too xx

Twittlebee · 27/01/2020 13:53

@umabb glad all seemed to have gone well with the scan! Regarding the cervix length, it really does need to be done internally (can be up to 1.5cm variance if done abdominal!) so I can understand why its not offered routinely.

Do ensure you get that MatB1 form asap because my DH's employer were right funny arses about how late he gave it to them and as a result refused his paternity leave with DS1!

I am so so so sorry how bad you have got spd @Blizy - I assume you'll be given intensive physio post baby to realign or is that something that can work on now?

Super emotional here too @LillianFullStop ! More so this time than previous times too.

Scan #8 on thursday for us. Rechecking of the cervix. Part of me want them to say "you are having the stitch" but another part scared about that. I guess we will see.

umabb · 27/01/2020 13:54

@UKtoSK I have been watching all news about the coronavirus and feel so sorry for people whose lives impacted. A few of my friends are quarantined at their own homes(luckily not altogether with other people) because they had to transit at wuhan airport or had dinner with someone travelled from wuhan... another friend of mine who's 31wks pregnant , Shanghai based, she's really worried for her coming doc appointment- hospital is the last place you'd want to go in China right now.
My parents travelled from shanghai and staying with me just before the breakout and I'm so glad they did - plan to extend their stay id the situation doesn't improve at the point that they are returning which is end of Feb.
I'd suggest not to travel if you can. I heard that traveling agencies and airlines are refunding 100%. I know it's annoying but I really can't bare the thoughts that pregnant women had to suffer from that. Please take care xx

umabb · 27/01/2020 13:59

@Twittlebee thanks xx I wouldn't even know to ask about cervix if not learnt from this thread from you amazing ladies. I hope your scan goes well too and the best can be arranged for you and the baby x

umabb · 27/01/2020 14:02

@Sbd11 welcome to the club!
