Welcome to the club!
These ladies here are awesome! Super helpful and mega friendly. :))

RPPs · 22/01/2020 21:37

@APD1981 Thanks for the advice. I drank a bottle of water enroute to the clinic and was bursting to go but the receptionist said to keep my bladder full. Which the sonographer was delighted with because the wew rascal was curled up in a ball and if it hadn't been for the full bladder she wouldn't have been able to do all the checks. All was well and as expected. So relieved and delighted. Now we can get excited.
Made DH watch One Born every minute last night, most of it from behind his hands to shield his eyes. Ha ha he's gonna get a big awakening. But made me think how weird it'll be to lay on the bed with no pants on infront of random people. Blush

AmyMaria2 · 22/01/2020 21:50

Welcome @Magpiefeather!

I've been watching one born every minute @RPPs not sure if it's a good idea as I'm already so scared anyway🙈

Is anyone pretty much decided on a name or have a good idea of what you'll call baby? Because I'm absolutely stuck, good job we have plenty of time left because I'm definitely struggling with a name x

21+0!

chocolate26 · 22/01/2020 22:30

I'm 18+4 and today have had an achy/crampy feeling in my lower back and round to my hips/groin area, I've had similar before and it was obviously just stretching but I haven't felt this much exact ache before! Has anyone had similar when they were at my stage? I'm trying to not go into full panic mode 🙄☺️

AmyMaria2 · 22/01/2020 22:38

@chocolate26 I had achy pains in my groin area & down my sides at around 18wks, I went to the epu and they checked me out and just said it must be ligament pains, they went after a few days so I think they probably were. Maybe you could go in and just be checked out x

AndddddHerewegoagain · 22/01/2020 22:46

@Rinoa we had a snuzpod and managed to squeeze my son into it until 7 months and he was on the 95% for height (still is!)

@rainbow1982 do you have another child who was born with a cleft? My son was born with one and as scary as it was at the time it hasn't affected him at all minus glue ear and mild speech delay (he's now caught up to all his milestones at 3)

Gigitree · 23/01/2020 05:16

@AmyMaria2 yes we have a good idea on a name! We had an early private scan at 16 weeks and we’re having a girl. But if we were having a boy we would have struggled so much for a name, so it was a relief in a way that we’re having a girl as we had two names in mind that we really like!

mrssunshinexxx · 23/01/2020 05:35

@AmyMaria2 we are set on girl name and have 2 fave boys names

AmyMaria2 · 23/01/2020 06:26

@Gigitree @mrssunshinexxx I had a girls name almost definite, but we're having a boy and I have a list of 2 names that when I think about it I don't even like that much🙈 hopefully one will come to me!! X

Cb31 · 23/01/2020 06:42

Has anyone watched the baby has landed? My husband was the one that suggested we watch it (think he was trying to get some brownie points 😂). It was really lovely. It followed 6 couples for 6 weeks around their baby being born.

The gender is a suprise for us so need to have girls and boys names. James and Georgina are our faves at the moment. I love Alice for a girl as well but my husband's cousin (who he barely sees) is called Alice so I think he'll veto it x

Smiffette · 23/01/2020 07:19

@Cb31 I watched that! It was good wasn't it!

We thought we were having a boy so had a boys name all picked out. Then found out it was a girl so back to the drawing board! We do have 3 we like, 1 of which I'm hoping we go with as it's my fav! We will see what she looks like when she arrives.

mrssunshinexxx · 23/01/2020 07:25

@Cb31 yeah watched it and loved it

Cb31 · 23/01/2020 07:42

@smiffette @mrssunshinexxx I just wish they followed them for longer. 6 weeks wasn't enough! X

Smiffette · 23/01/2020 07:51

@Cb31 I reckon they will do a follow up like One Born do!

QforCucumber · 23/01/2020 08:00

@AmyMaria2 ds1 was nameless until he was about a week old. We hadnt found out the sex during the pregnancy and had never really agreed a name. Weve let him have a bit of a say with DS2 so think its chosen, in the hope itll help him prepare for the baby coming. He keeps saying 'when our baby arrives can we take him to the beach' and other stuff. It's so cute.

umabb · 23/01/2020 08:10

@AmyMaria2 we had a girl's name agreed long ago (even before got pregnant..) but not as prepared for a boy. Had a thought and I think we have one that we both like but maybe will have more ideas later on BearSmile

chocolate26 · 23/01/2020 09:33

@AmyMaria2 thank you 😊 I've spoken to a midwife at my hospital and she didn't seem worried, she said to keep an eye on it and give them a call if it's still there in a few hours but it's probably stretching.

We have our names picked out 😊 we are not finding out what we are having so we have one for each. We have had our boys name for years but only just agreed on a girls name 😃 I prefer the girls name more but DH loves the boys name so I let him have it as I do like it too.

MissisBee · 23/01/2020 09:52

We've only had one conversation about names so far, but immediately decided on a boys name (last time round it was my favourite but DH didn't like it. He says he's now come round to it). Still to find out what we're having, so will park further discussions until after the scan.
1st time round, I couldn't get DH to have a proper conversation about names at all, he kept suggesting ridiculous silly ones! By the time I was in hospital, we had agreed a boys name but no idea for a girl.

Gigitree · 23/01/2020 09:56

@AmyMaria2 I think boys names are so much harder for some reason! My sister had a boy last June and he was nameless for about 3 weeks, despite them finding out they were having a boy at the 20 week scan! You may have to wait until he’s here as sometimes it’s hard to pick a name until they’re here and you see them.

AmyMaria2 · 23/01/2020 10:02

Think I will have to carry on thinking and see what he looks like! Knowing me I'm sure he will be called baby for a few weeks until I'm decided🙈 hopefully we have one sorted and it doesn't come to that!! X

APD1981 · 23/01/2020 10:08

Boy name was easy for us as my dad died 2 months before I got pregnant and so DH has agreed we can name baby after my dad if it's a boy. It's a name that's coming back into fashion now which helps! And I had a few girl names I liked and fortunately DH loves my favourite one so we're going that that. We have middle names sorted too.

I feel rotten today. Nauseous, horrendous headache, exhausted, and fuzzy head. Feels like morning sickness has come back. I went into work this morning but by I just couldn't face standing up and teaching all day, plus it's parents' evening til late tonight and there's no way I could get through it. I have come home for a day in bed.

I also watched The Baby has Landed. Thought it was brill. Wish they'd followed them for longer and done more episodes.

Twittlebee · 23/01/2020 10:39

We have our name picked out too, calling this baby by his name already too which is helping DS bond to the bump. He really is very excited about having another brother, just hope all works out this time.

First day back in the office since mid-December as I should be on rest. I have been working from home but I just feel so isolated and alone so Dad drove me into work.

@chocolate26 I could have written your post. I am 18+3 and have had a pulling/pressure pain just underneath my bump for the last few days. It definitely worsens as the day goes on and it's becoming increasingly uncomfortable when I walk. I am praying it's just stretching and will ease off!
Helpful to know your midwife didn't seem too concerned. I think I'll give it a week and if still struggling or worsens then will make an appointment.

Zoey92 · 23/01/2020 11:36

I have woken up with the worst headache this morning does anyone have any tips on how to deal with these throughout the day

Busylizzie85 · 23/01/2020 11:43

We both came up with names very quickly which really helped and I had always wanted to have a girl and name her after my gran so I am really pleased with having a girl.
I am also having lots of pulling/stretching pains low down and on my sides last few days, bump is definitely expanding and feeling a lot heavier as the day goes on!
