Am really struggling for a girl's name. We have a girl already and already used our favourites for her so am really stuck!

For headaches, endless water and if you are not at work, those migraine cold ice patches are great. Look a bit weird in front of others though.

I’ve been having loads of aches - need belly button, sides of belly and further down for the last few days. They come and go (but can last hours at a time - had it really bad for about 7 hours a few nights ago) and I assume it’s all just stretching and growing!

@hjbows88 I had those stretching pains when I was 18 weeks. Luckily my friends Mum is a retired midwife and she put my mind at ease. They were gone the next day.

Last night I woke with a really strong pain to the left and right of my belly button. It was like something twisting and detaching inside. Its almost completely gone now but was so worrying in the night.

hjbows88 · 23/01/2020 13:40

Thanks @RPPs - I’m working on the logic that anything serious would be severe/would get worse and would be persistent rather than come and go - this is stopping me having a full on panic every time I get an ache or pain but I still worry loads!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 23/01/2020 13:45

I also checked in with my midwife she said between 18 and 24 weeks is the big ligament stretch so thats probably why you're all achey! ( though please get checked if you're worried i am not a professional)

We are also finding girls name impossible to agree on. Hoping we will look at her and now what she should be called!

RPPs · 23/01/2020 15:20

@hjbows88 and @AndddddHerewegoagain my friend suggested calling the midwife team for reassurance. That's what i did and now im reassured. MW said that I could feel a little delicate after the probing of the 20 week scan. Agree that if it isn't persistent, its probably just stretching but good to know this is a big phase of stretching. News to be. Thanks

chocolate26 · 23/01/2020 15:33

It's reassuring to know a few of us are having these pains! There is so much going on inside us it's no surprise really 😊 my body definitely tells me when I need to sit down now if I've been on my feet for a while I can become really achy.

I also get headaches quite a lot now, I take paracetamol when needed and get some fresh air which sometimes helps 😊 also pressing the pressure points on my head and face help.

peetieswie · 23/01/2020 17:32

Glad you're all having positive scan results! Mines not till 31st.

Gutted my boobs are being ruined by this pregnancy! I had fab boobs, no sagging at all and lovely and round! Now I'm getting big stretch marked slightly saggy and I know it's going to get worse. I know that's really vain but does make me feel a bit sad! Goodbye lovely boobs.

Also gained a double chin but I've always put on weight face first so was to be expected.

Twittlebee · 23/01/2020 17:40

Anyone else feeling Braxton Hicks already? They have been horribly strong for me today, wonder if its because I am in the office for a change rather than at home?

MissisBee · 23/01/2020 17:52

@Twittlebee I've been having them since about 16 weeks. Usually if I've walked too far, but yesterday, was having some just sitting in a lecture

APD1981 · 23/01/2020 17:56

How do you know if you're having Braxton Hicks?

MissisBee · 23/01/2020 18:39

Feels like your womb going all tight and hard. Can be uncomfortable, but shouldn't be too painful. Apparently your womb does them from right at the beginning, but most women aren't aware of them until some time in the 2nd trimester

Twittlebee · 23/01/2020 19:38

Idk if anyone else gets it, but when I orgasm my whole belly goes rock hard and super tight and painful - kinda puts me off sex a bit. Like a super string braxton hick? Sorry if that's a bit TMO Blush

Missgemini · 23/01/2020 21:26

Hey ladies. I wanted to check what movements feel like.
Since yesterday, I've started feeling a lot bubbly movements in my tummy. I was quite sure they weren't related to gas. Having a lot of them even now as I am typing. I assume these are baby movements?

Also, does anyone get a painful nipple when they're cold? Grin

BabyBird20 · 23/01/2020 22:04

@Missgemini omg I do! I can't bear to get cold now as my nipples are so painful when it is!!

@Twittlebee Did you get my pm about joining the Facebook group? Not sure if I did it right! Xx

MissisBee · 23/01/2020 22:27

I have noticed that too @Twittlebee...

Sounds very much like movements @Missgemini. And my nipples are always sore.

That's a lot I've just overstated there 😂

umabb · 23/01/2020 22:34

@hjbows88 I had this stretching pain / soreness on the sides of belly towards groins today while I was walking. It was not too long a walk probably just 15mins or so. It eased off after I sat down for a bit and happened again when I started walking again. Today also happens to be a quiet day and I've not felt baby much (or at all..)
Panicking a bit Sad

AmyMaria2 · 23/01/2020 23:35

@Missgemini my nipples are agony when cold!! 🙈

I had a consultant appointment today, they are going to keep me under a consultant rather than midwife for a while, it's my first baby but it was a clomid pregnancy and I have pcos. I assume this is why, also baby is measuring big & I have a low anterior placenta! It means extra scans and closer monitoring so I don't mind, just sounded kind of scary. Is anyone else consultant lead with first pregnancy?

UKtoSK · 24/01/2020 03:46

@umabb I’m also having a quiet couple of days after finally feeling the baby move properly for a few days. She was so active on Tuesday and Wednesday and then Thursday and Friday almost nothing... I felt her before sleep last night and again this morning but so briefly. I know it’s normal at this stage but it’s still disconcerting.

mrssunshinexxx · 24/01/2020 04:20

@AmyMaria2 yes I am I see it as a positive as it's extra care really
Both sisters had awful births and high risk preeclampsia that's why I am x

newbyxx · 24/01/2020 06:31

@AmyMaria2 I'm also first baby and under consultant just looking at it as more times I get to see him and keeping an extra eye on him.

I started to feel movements are the start of the week and now the last couple days I don't think I have felt any! Do you just think it's to early to have regular movements everyday? There seems to just be one worry after another!

20+6

UKtoSK · 24/01/2020 06:49

@newbyxx me and @umabb both just posted about having quiet days right now with no/few movements. I think it’s normal up to 24 weeks for it to be pretty irregular. It still sucks though. I just want to feel her all the time every day.

UKtoSK · 24/01/2020 06:56

For anyone else worried about movements/quickening stopping this thread really made me feel better community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a979945/quickening_has_stopped_should_i_be_worried_because_i_really_am....

The list of things to worry about just never ends does it? Everyone tells me it just gets worse once they’re born!

Magpiefeather · 24/01/2020 07:13

I’m the same over here - baby has quiet days and wriggly days. If I’m getting anxious to feel him or her move I just eat something sugary and go lie down, usually gets them moving Smile

Nipples so bloody sore all the time. I’m the opposite to @peetieswie, my pregnant boobs are lovely but with last pregnancy they turned to deflated bags afterwards, so preparing myself for even more dropping after this baby is born and trying to enjoy the perks of the perkiness at the moment! Peetieswie your boobs might change again when baby is here, you never know!

Also yes @Twittlebee I get that after an orgasm too, but I never realised that was Braxton Hicks! In that case I’ve been having a few of those (not just after orgasm, sometimes just randomly) but just never realised that’s what it was haha.

I have been getting a bit of pelvic pain and was worried about it being pgp / spd but I took it easy for a few days and it has gone now, so that’s a relief.

Have no idea of names yet. We took a few days to name DD, had a few favourites but waited to meet her and tried a few out before settling on the one! We will probably do something similar this time.

Twittlebee · 24/01/2020 07:18

I emailed all those who DMed me with a facebook invite yesterday @BabyBird20 so might be in your emails? If not, DM me again x

Yeah I'm desperate for movement to be regular. I do recall ringing up worried at 22 weeks that movements had slowed and now stopped, with my DS2, and MW said they arent bothered until after 24 weeks and said baby could have very much just moved position
