My baby's moves are really regular and noticeable. Sometimes it's quiet and I get worried but if I really concentrate I can feel little flutters. I assume during these times it has moved position so the movements are more subtle. Yesterday morning I actually ate a Wham bar to get it moving and it totally worked! My baby loves sugar! 😂

I'm off work again today. Still feel really under the weather in myself but also have really bad hip pain, particularly on my left. Hurts to walk and sit upright. I think it is stemming from trying to sleep on my side and having suffered with severe sciatica on my left last year. It's so hard because I'm desperate to lie on my back but too scared to. I think the general unwell feeling might be because I had the Whooping Cough vaccine the other day. The nurse told me I might react with flu like symptoms. They're only very mild but enough, combined with the hip pain, to make me feel I can't cope at work. Anyone else had the same thing after the vaccination?

umabb · 24/01/2020 08:52

@UKtoSK thanks for sharing the link. x yes I think it's normal. The stress is crazy though because now I'm thinking I'm about 20wks (19+5 today) and movements are still irregular. Confused last night I started looking at articles of stillborn signs which did not help! In the middle of the night I think I woke up to a few of his kicks but I'm not sure now if it was a dream! Earlier in the morning I definitely felt a couple gentle bundles believe that was him. Getting mad really 🤪 can't wait for my scan which is on Monday.

BabyBird20 · 24/01/2020 08:57

@umabb I'm 19+4 and still not really sure I'm feeling anything! The occasional twitch or flutter but nothing certain!

Just sat waiting for my 20 week scan now, hoping to see him having a good wriggle once I'm in there!! 🤞🤞

hjbows88 · 24/01/2020 09:00

Just to add @umabb that there is def still loads of variation at this stage. I had a mini scan earlier this week due to the pains I’ve been describing and I could see baby kicking away a lot but couldn’t feel a thing, yet other days I feel quite a bit. Their positions make a huge difference I think - mine was face down when kicking on the scan and I couldn’t feel it. Also I find if I’ve eaten loads and feel full/gassy this stops me feeling the baby as much x

MissisBee · 24/01/2020 09:45

I've noticed movements here are much more vigorous if I eat chocolate! Going to be a chocoholic like me.
With DS, once I'd noticed a pattern of movement, part of that pattern was alternating really bouncy days with quieter days. Also, if I was busy at work, I barely noticed him, but that's because my attention was elsewhere.

BabyBird20 · 24/01/2020 10:43

Just had my 20 week scan and my little monkey was curled tightly in a ball, tucked in a corner and facing into me so back up to my tummy. We managed to see a bit after a walk and some sugary snacks and all looks ok but have been rebooked for another just to double check the views!! It explains why I can't feel him though as if he kicks he's kicking towards my back! Bit of a relief!! 😬😬

AndddddHerewegoagain · 24/01/2020 12:18

I also find chocolate or a small glass of a cold fizzy drink gets the baby moving here!

Rinoa · 24/01/2020 12:40

@AmyMaria2 I also am having my first baby, after first round of success with clomid. They did not tell my about any consultant, I just see the midwife. I am sure it's fine though, as they said just means extra care! :)

umabb · 24/01/2020 12:43

@hjbows88 that explains things ! My parents are visiting and have been cooking all my favourite food - I've not felt hungry for a few days hehe.
@BabyBird20 glad it went well. Will get to see baby another time soon which is good too I guess? Xx

UKtoSK · 24/01/2020 13:35

After two days of worrying baby is suddenly active again and the movements feel stronger than ever. She must have just been facing back. It reminds me of a story my mum told me recently - when she was pregnant with me, and later on when you’re supposed to feel something every day, she said I went a whole day without moving at all and she was so worried and was going to the doctor the next morning but then I started moving again. I guess babies need their rest days too.

Blizy · 24/01/2020 14:54

For everyone that's worried about movement it's worth checking this website out.

BabyBird20 · 24/01/2020 16:51

Thanks @umabb was such a lovely feeling seeming him in there. And get another scan in two weeks which is brilliant! 😍😍

Has anyone else been asked to take part in a medical trial about whooping cough vaccine? They're wanting to investigate if there is an optimum time to administer it in pregnancy!

@Missgemini my movements also feel like lots of little bubbles racing to the surface. Some days I don't feel anything, then some days I feel it just once, and others it seems like it's on and off the whole day.

I had my consultant appointment for asthma on Weds. I got to hear the heartbeat which was very reassuring. The dr I saw confused me a bit as he said I'd need two extra scans to check growth, but I'd never been told asthma inhalers could affect growth. I did ask the dr but he sort of avoided the question and said there are people on far stronger steroids who have healthy babies. I'll stay under shared care for the foreseeable.

@BabyBird20 congrats on your scan!

AmyMaria2 · 24/01/2020 18:26

umabb · 25/01/2020 08:36

@UKtoSK I felt quite a lot of moves yesterday and woke up in the middle of the night to the most active belly ever 😂 he's doing a full body exercise. during the day I continue not to feel a lot but a few occasional bubbles.

In the last couple of weeks I found myself easily getting angry or annoyed... sometimes I feel I need to shout to let the emotion out 😟I don't want to blame hormone sounds like an excuse but this person isn't very much like me 🤪 not sure if any of you had the same ..

Busylizzie85 · 25/01/2020 10:02

@umabb I’m the same I’m either really wound up and want to scream or crying at the moment!! Never been this emotional all the time must be all the added hormones!

Smiffette · 25/01/2020 10:36

I feel really impatient and irritated lately! I don't really have time for chit chat at work, and just feel like I want to keep my head down and get on with stuff!

20+5

UKtoSK · 25/01/2020 10:38

@umabb sounds like our babies are on a similar schedule!

I thought that pregnancy wasn’t really affecting my mood at all, but then a few weeks ago my husband told me I’d be being very irritable recently and I instantly burst into tears, sobbing over my lunch, he looked so scared 😂😂

BabyBird20 · 25/01/2020 11:14

@umabb I've been awfully irritable lately too! My patience is very thin which is not ideal when I work with a class of 30 7yr olds!! I have to be careful not to take it out on them! Haven't even told them I'm pg yet!!

Cornishbumpkin · 25/01/2020 11:18

Ah it's such a relief reading this chat and seeing everyone else is having similar experiences! I've been so irritated at work, I usually have a decent level of patience but the smallest things are triggering me at the moment.
Congrats on all the beautiful scan pics posted recently Smile

umabb · 25/01/2020 14:33

LOL ladies you are amazing. Thanks for sharing. It's such a relief to know that I'm not alone! Just read a posts to the husband. He said - where is the thread for the husbands, we will have a lot in common to talk too 😂🤪

Cornishbumpkin · 25/01/2020 15:52

Hah @umabb would that be a thread of men venting about how grumpy their partners are lol. Just been to boots and picked up my bounty pack today, anyone else picked one up? They got a few good samples in them

Busylizzie85 · 25/01/2020 16:17

Yes I have @Cornishbumpkin also Emma’s diary packs! They are good for changing bag/handbag sized items.

Rinoa · 25/01/2020 17:16

@BabyBird20 they have not asked me about trialling anything about whooping cough, but they did offer me a scan at 36 weeks for research on pre eclampsia. Can't turn down a scan!

mrssunshinexxx · 25/01/2020 17:56

I'm not angry but very emotional crying at a lot of stuff
