As for the Silver Cross baby nest Decaf - I think it must be? I think the Horizon is different as it does lie completely flat and is only package that doesnt come with a bassinet in the Silver Cross range BUT I think I could maybe use the Pioneer with a baby nest after the 1st month?

3rd tri.. ibuprofen now officially off the cards 😨😱

ColdCottage · 12/06/2019 17:48

Anyone found any really nice nursing pjs or night dresses?

ColdCottage · 12/06/2019 17:49

@Moraxella I didn't think ibuprofen could be taken at anytime during pregnancy due to the link with brain stem development?

kyles101 · 12/06/2019 17:57

Thanks twittle!!

I've had a health visitor appointment through for a home visit on a random Monday in July. Sigh. Surely I can ask them to move this back until the end of August when I'll be on mat leave? Will they have a problem with this? What do they do before the baby is here? Check I'm not running a drug den or something?

happydays00 · 12/06/2019 17:59

I also had been told that @ColdCottage

Currently hiding upstairs away from DD (aka the devil in disguise) - she's with DH downstairs and I am pretending to put washing away. Terrible twos are sending me close to the brink this week!!!!

happydays00 · 12/06/2019 18:00

@Stroan did you have to have a GTT test to diagnose your gestational diabetes? I had my GTT test today and just wondering when I can expect the results, I forgot to ask (which is annoying as I was there for the best part of 3 hours!)

LyraLupin · 12/06/2019 18:05

@happydays00 I had mine today too and they said if I haven’t heard anything by tomorrow evening then it’s fine. Might be different where you are though.

boodles101 · 12/06/2019 18:08

kyles yes ask them to move it, I didn't have mine until I was on mat leave last time. They come and just give you some leaflets on safe sleeping, ask how you will be feeding so they can provide support if bf, they ask how you and DH are mentally and signs to spot PND. And basically it's to introduce themselves so that you don't have some random stranger invading your house when baby is a week old.

Moraxella · 12/06/2019 18:25

Oops, I am def not cut out for parenting. Have scoured pubmed to no avail- anyone got a link?

IVEgottheDECAF · 12/06/2019 18:36

Yes i have been told multiple times NO ibuprofen and prescribed codeine instead

Karigan195 · 12/06/2019 18:38

I’m avoiding the diabetes test. Last pregnancy I had to do it and I’m that bad with any fluid medicines I was literally in tears and vomiting trying to drink the blasted drink. They haven’t asked me yet and I’m not going to remind them!

Megan2018 · 12/06/2019 18:40

@Karigan195
I am like this too! Mine is Monday. No idea if I’ll be able to get it down. I can’t do liquid anything. It’ll probably come straight up.
Going to try as am very high risk for it but not optimistic!

happydays00 · 12/06/2019 20:47

Thanks @LyraLupin - how did you find it?

@Karigan195 I know, it's just bloody awful isn't it? Last time I spent the full 2 hours heaving and retching, this time I managed to get through with zero retching but I did end up snapping at the phlebotomist as they were running nearly an hour late!

Good luck for yours @Megan2018 , hope you can get through it, but if not I know there are other ways to monitor it as I remember quite a few ladies on the Hypremesis thread couldn't manage the glucose.

easterbuns1 · 12/06/2019 21:06

Cheers for new thread!

I'm back to feeling like shite, well it never 100% went away but seems to be back with a vengeance now I've hit the third trimester. Spd, nausea, headaches, exhaustion, piles. It's a good job these babies are well worth all the crap bits.

Moraxella · 12/06/2019 21:46

Phew, no firm evidence except PDA probs post 30/40 which I knew of. That and the caesarean thread on aibu have got me panicking today! Need to step away from MN!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 12/06/2019 22:01

Can't believe it's a new thread already! I had a friend over tonight with her newborn and it made me more excited for September. That and I'd like to stop feeling sick 😂

Whisky2014 · 12/06/2019 22:38

What's this thing about a diabetes test?

I had my 28 week scan yesterday. I'm actually 29 weeks tomorrow so was a but late having it. I had to have my anti d Injection for negative blood group, stung like hell. And 3 lots of blood taken.
Midwife said everything measures fine and I was also bang in the middle of the growth chart where I should be Halo
I'm going for the home birth option. Just need to decide if I want a birth pool or not.

I have noticed my ankles getting a little swollen today. First time :( don't have any stretch marks though but plenty time for that to come!

Stroan · 12/06/2019 22:38

@happydays00 not this pregnancy. I had it last time so instead of the GTT I just monitored my own blood sugars from 16 weeks onwards. But I got the results the next day last time.

The GTT is absolutely awful, there's no way I could have even drank the stuff this time.
