I've just booked my first midwife appt , not til 13th December! Will be about 8 weeks then, was hoping it'd have been quicker ! Was seen about 5 weeks last pregnancy

Laburna · 19/11/2018 10:40

Having one of those days where I just feel like it's all over. I don't really know why in terms of symptoms, they're all still there really. I had two naps yesterday but had convinced myself that I wasn't as tired as I had been. Not been feeling massively sick but have been eating more often as DH was just shoving food under my nose every hour or so.

Pretty sure it's all a defence mechanism for my scan tomorrow, convincing myself it's going to be bad news so when I get bad news I'm semi-prepared for it.

Rose68 · 19/11/2018 10:46

I’ve just popped back on to say goodbye and I really hope you all have happy and healthy pregnancy’s.
I have surgery booked for tomorrow morning, so this time tomorrow it will all be over for me. I don’t know if we will try again, at 43 I am certainly not getting any younger.
Lots of love to everyone and @5fivestar I’m so so sorry.

Onestep2 · 19/11/2018 10:48

@Laburna poor you! hopefully it will all be for nothing and you will get nothing but good news and reassurance tomorrow!

Im having another day where i have zero interest in food.

DH hubby was losing plot with me last night....
DH - what do you want to eat?
Me - Anything
DH - pizza
Me - nah
DH - curry
Me - nah
DH - chilli
Me - Nah
this went on for about an hour LOL **

he finally got fed up and hungry and just ordered a chinese which i ate a wee bit of and then just pushed the rest round my plate. its abso devestating coz i abso love all food. just feel so sicky ALL THE TIME.

hope everyone is feeling better than me today :)

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 10:51

Sounds terrible but I'm actually hoping when my sickness comes on it'll stop me eating as much 🙈 Im a bit over weight already and don't want to put much on the next few weeks while I wait for my booking in scan ! I was green pathway last time and able to have my baby in the midwife suite rather than hospital which I really want again this time ! But I'm sure if you're over a certain BMI they don't let you be green pathway 🙈

Kentishgal · 19/11/2018 10:54

Rose68 sending you best wishes for tomorrow and the future. I have two friends that both had their first babies at 43 and second at 46 & 47. So fingers crossed for you.

Twistering · 19/11/2018 11:00

@Rose68 thinking of you for tomorrow. I’ve had surgical management and it was actually way preferable to the alternative in many ways and sure everyone at the hospital will be very kind. Don’t give up hope though! X

Laburna · 19/11/2018 11:02

@ReginaPhalange89 are you close to the cut off? There's no mention of BMI being a factor in going to the MLU here, just whether you require obstetric intervention during the pregnancy. I can't imagine they would make you not have it at the MLU if you are in the 'overweight' catagorised, maybe if you are in the 'obese' catagorised or above?

I was most surprised to have lost 4lb between weighing myself at home and getting weighed at the MW appointment - considering I was nuddy at home and had jeans and a big sweater on at the MW! My scales are not accurate it seems! 😂

Laburna · 19/11/2018 11:05

Good luck tomorrow @rose68 don't make any rush decisions right now, everything is so raw and emotional right now. Give yourself time to grieve and move on properly from losing this little one and then see how you feel. There are no right or wrong answers here, and if you are still able to, there's nothing stopping you from trying again if you wanted to, when you are ready. 💜

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 11:17

@Laburna I'm not actually sure what the cut off is! To be fair I'm sure I'm only about 5/6lbs heavier now than I was at booking in with my last pregnancy so surely that can't make a huge difference. Maybe I'll lose a few with the sickness by the time my appt comes around 😂 I've had two straight forward pregnancies and quick, easy labour's so I'm hoping they'll take that into account too

Laburna · 19/11/2018 11:24

@ReginaPhalange89 are they close? Our consultant ward is next to the MLU so switching between the two is easy. Though I'm sure if you've had two straight forward ones already, they won't be too worried. I think it's easier for them if people are in the MLU!

(At my old hospital, the MLU and Consultant bit were separated by a curtain in the hallway!)

MrsC87 · 19/11/2018 11:28

Sending you lots of love @Rose68 xx

TwittleBee · 19/11/2018 11:29

Laburna bless you being prepared for bad news, that is what my mum is like too. She always says it means she wont ever feel disappointed. Good luck for tomorrow.

Oh Rose68 wishing you the best for the future

poster Onestep2 take away food is all I seem to be able to eat atm in the evenings. I am ravenous and can deolish anything pre 3pm but after that I just dont want to eat which then leaves me feeling so sick when I wake up to pee in middle of the night!

All the hugs to you @rose68 and @5fivestar.

I don't know how I am feeling. I have a bit of nausea but am only 4 weeks and 5 days or something and in my last pregnancy I didnt even know I was pregmant at this stage. I just cannot help feeling thatI don't have enough symptoms and that it's not a sticky one. Roll on 12 weeks! I definitely have a reduced appetite and eating gives me faint nausea... the glamours of pregnancy!

TwittleBee · 19/11/2018 11:38

ah dont worry Trouble2cats so many on here havent any symptoms or only minimal or symptoms that come and go!

I actually have it so easy compared to when I was pregnant with DS regarding symptoms. Strange how different pregnancies can be!

Thank you ladies, fortunately I do already have 2 beautiful boys, but they are growing up so fast, yesterday I found out my eldest no longer believes in FC. 😭 I would so love to do it all again.
I had a bad feeling about this pregnancy, almost from the beginning, something just didn’t feel right. Funny how sometimes you just know.
@Laburna good luck for tomorrow, and everyone else having scans this week.
xxx

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 11:40

@Laburna yeah it's just a different area of the hospital I think, I think you just go in one entrance and the mlu is to one side and the hospital is to the other side ! Good luck to you for your scan tomorrow, I bet it'll be good news 💕

Is anyone else still having the urge to POAS? 🙈 Ive got a pack of cheapies in the cupboard and have been doing one every morning 🙈 I've no symptoms at all yet though it's still very early , just doesn't feel real yet ! I don't know if I can't hold off another 5 weeks to tell people at Christmas

ratherbeshowjumping · 19/11/2018 11:49

Thank you for the new thread @TwittleBee - can't believe we're on the 3rd one already.

For those that have been here before - jeans....!
Where are the best over the bump ones from? I'm so bloated and anything that sits on my actual tummy is really uncomfortable. I love soft, stretchy ones... have seen some nice ones on Asos but would like some recommendations?

amanda2809 · 19/11/2018 11:59

Last time my favourite pair of over bump ones were from George at Asda! I'm 5ft 10 so struggle with length but they were great.

I've had to do an emergency clothes shop this morning, ordered loads of trousers from H&M maternity range (will return most!) as Not one pair were comfortable this morning! Ended up going with black stretchy jeans. BIG MISTAKE. I'm at at work with them fully undone! Good job I've got a long top on haha

itslilsebastian · 19/11/2018 12:00

Could I please join? I'm 23 and currently 5 weeks pregnant with my first Grin

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 12:00

@ratherbeshowjumping I haven't tried asos maternity yet, my last pregnancy my favourite jeans were from H&M! Kept them for this time. They were so comfortable and looked really good too. Also had a psir from Asda that I really liked and they were only about £14!

ratherbeshowjumping · 19/11/2018 12:02

@amanda2809 oh no, poor you...! This was my situation over the weekend, I was out for dinner with my jeans undone... not ideal.
I may have a look in Asda tomorrow - h&m sounds like one to avoid then?

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 12:03

I hate how you can't really get maternity clothing in store now, all online! All the shops down my high Street have done away with maternity sections!

Anyone tried boohoo ? Heard mixed reviews

ReginaPhalange89 · 19/11/2018 12:04

No I really rate H&M! Loved all my stuff from there

TwittleBee · 19/11/2018 12:07

Welcome itslilsebastian ! Congrats! Add yourself into the Google Doc in the OP Smile

I really rate H&M for mat wear, they often have decent amount in their stores too! Only thing with their pregnancy jeans is that they are so stretchy and so comfy that you don't realise how much weight you are gaining! My size 8 mat jeans from last time round lasted me all the way and I was so chuffed I hadnt gone up a jean size. Yet when I went to get normal clothes I realised I was actually a size 14/16! I recently tried on those mat jeans (as getting bit bloated!) and they are huuuuuge on me!
