@twiglet & @emalady I'm so fed up with having workmen at my house too! We are so nearly there just doing the final bits of snagging etc now but it will be such a relief when they are gone! Now on a mission to get it all furnished etc before the babies arrive!

@Yakadee time is flying by for me too! Much quicker than the previous 2 times! I've only got a max 11w to go as they said they will include/section at 37w which doesn't sound like long at all! Eek!!

Baby160P · 08/11/2018 12:52

I agree with time flying.

First pregnancy but I imagine if you're pregnant in the summer it's more uncomfortable?

AliceRR · 08/11/2018 13:31

This is a bit random and probably silly but I’m eating champagne truffles, had two, and second one tasted quite boozy so thought maybe I shouldn’t have any more!

Celebelly · 08/11/2018 13:39

@twiglet Have you had your letter through for antental classes yet? We got ours this morning - three Tuesday mornings in December! Luckily my DP still has holiday/flex days to take!

twiglet · 08/11/2018 13:44

@Celebelly nothing yet! I hadn't even considered that they would have them in the morning of the working week!

I have my 28 week appointment on Tuesday so can ask the midwife if nothing has arrived by then!

Celebelly · 08/11/2018 13:54

I know, I just assumed they would be evenings or weekends!

emalady · 08/11/2018 14:11

Our NCT is Saturdays as the evening one is too early and we would be at work still. I think quite a lot end up being daytime and saying you are entitled to take leave but it can be tricky to sort out and just seems more stressful.

Baby160P · 08/11/2018 14:18

Antenatal is weekend for us

Breastfeeding is 6pm on a Monday so having to leave work a tad earlier!

Alicejj8x · 08/11/2018 19:01

Mine is over 2 weekends x

Fredthespider · 08/11/2018 19:36

The NCT we signed up to is mostly evenings/weekends, but there is one womens only session which is in the middle of the work day. I'm being a bit sneaky at work as I've just listed the time off as an 'appointment' as technically they say that only "midwife prescribed" appointments fall under the time off for ante-natal appointments and specifically mentions NCT as being excluded. However if I was going to do the NHS run ante-natal classes then every single session is during the work day, so I figure I'm saving them loads of time doing most of the NCT outside work.

emalady · 08/11/2018 20:44

@fredthespider we don't have any women's only sessions in my NCT I wonder what they will cover?!

AliceRR · 08/11/2018 23:25

Is anyone having weird pains? Not sure if it’s stretching or what. Nothing makor but I’ve stomach ache (you know when your stomach feels a bit tender but kind of my whole bump), had stitch like pains, now got almost a slight burning pain v low down on my bump / above pubic bone. Not sure if it’s stretching or what 🤔

AliceRR · 09/11/2018 00:29

and now just had shooting pains near my bottom!

So many weird / new sensations

How do you know what’s normal?

They are all fairly mild / short lived so I’m assuming nothing serious

fizzledays · 09/11/2018 07:34

@twiglet I had workmen in for almost 8 weeks living in mess, I feel your pain!!! They're gone now and it's bliss, hang in there!

fizzledays · 09/11/2018 07:36

@AliceRR I get weird twinges all the time now, but if ever painful I'd say to call midwife/111? Better to be safe than sorry if you're worried!!

Baby160P · 09/11/2018 07:45

Anyone heard back from GTT yet?

My hospital said 2-3 days and nothing yet 🤞🏼 for Good news!!!

@AliceRR is it liveable pains or twinges rather than pain? Could it be Braxton Hicks?
If in doubt call your go today.

Yakadee · 09/11/2018 07:47

I've had a pain in my butt cheek! Like something clicked? It's fine most of the time but hurts sometimes - not sure if it's part of what you're experiencing.

I second calling if ever worried xx

Just found this blanket from £22 to £1 at the moment.

It's £4.95 shipping but supposed to be a lovely soft blanket.

AliceRR · 09/11/2018 08:03

@fizzledays @Baby160P @Yakadee It’s maybe not proper “pain”. It comes and goes and not something I’d feel like I need to take paracetamol. The shooting pain near my bum came and went in a few seconds last night and haven’t had it since. The pain in my belly feels more like a normal stomach ache but mil. And then the other bits are probably more twinges. I don’t feel worried about it really but wasn’t sure if I should be.

I don’t know what Braxton Hicks feels like at all

Haven’t heard back from GTT but realised yesterday they didn’t say when I’d hear and I didn’t ask!

Baby160P · 09/11/2018 08:12

@AliceRR maybe stretching or ligament pain?

If in the bum my app said I'm likely to get sciatica from this stage.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking · 09/11/2018 08:16

I got that Mori blanket a few weeks ago, it is nice for a pound, definitely wouldn’t spend £22 on it though!

twiglet · 09/11/2018 08:25

@Alicerr I've had the bum pain and shooting down my thighs Dr friend said its baby pressing on the major nerves in your body. If you can get baby to shift then it generally goes away. Pregnancy sciatica is unfortunately another joyful thing though.

@fizzledays @emalady @MrsY87 thanks good to know I'm not the only crazy one for house works! We are on week 7 with another 3 to go. I know it will be worth it when done we had 3 different trades working around each other this week (7 workmen) it was a bit much and one of them didn't take his boots off so carried plaster dust upstairs Angry

Back down to 3 workman today so hopefully I can clean up a bit after the chaos!

Yakadee · 09/11/2018 08:25

@AliceRR - it's probably just stretching then. See how you go on.

I hope I'm not getting sciatica!! 😩

lanalawr · 09/11/2018 09:45

I never really appreciated that the baby kicking could hurt (mild but enough for me to say ow and press against it). DD didn't really move so this is new for me. It's nice that I can feel them and not have the worry I had with DD but didn't appreciate the jabbing so much last night.
Our house works start again on Monday. We've been doing it in little bits so a week and a half in Sept then three days in Oct. We're now looking at 3-4 weeks of building/kitchen/downstairs toilet work.

AliceRR · 09/11/2018 11:01

Thanks ladies.

I can sympathise with having work done and living in chaos. We have done our work now but but it was disruptive enough before I was pregnant!

We are in the midst of trying to move house (we have just accepted an offer on ours and had an offer accepted for a new house) and that is a bit stressful. DH is particularly stressed and he does not handle it will which is causing stress for me!

Hopefully will be sorted soon though🤞
