Come on Rosy

jay was talking to a lady at school who suffered terrible spd and she said she found relief with a pelvic support belt but had to get it from a specialist physio which required a referral from her GP.

Don't know if that's any use to you ... you probably already know about them or even have one... in which case you are probably screaming at your monitor by now! Just like i used to do when people suggested ginger biscuits for my hyperemesis!

spongecake and madhide i notice its your due date today... i think you should both have a competition to see who gets the most "Haven't you had that baby yet?"'s today!

madhide · 15/03/2007 10:13

Muppet - I haven't had any yet! I don't think people dare had a few calls yesterday! But reckon it will be eerily quiet today!

Just got txt from friend she had little girl yesterday at 33 weeks only 3lbs 8oz! They are both doing well but she had a bit of a hellish time and this is the second time it has happened to her! So I am not going to moan anymore promise!

Going to pop out for a spot of retail therapy and buy something nice for her and the new arrival

LaidbackinEngland · 15/03/2007 10:15

Hooray Rosy - hope to hear good news from you today.

Piffle - how are things at your end ?

Kitty - hope you managed to find some good drugs (for the cold)

Jay - hope you are in less pain today.

Well afer my bath last night any hint of a contraction that I was having stopped and now I feel relatively normal again. DH has just gone for a walk on the downs with his Dad, was tempted to join them - but think I'd only manage about 500 yards. Mossy, tempted to go house hunting down in Cornwall again on Saturday... but that really would be tempting fate Still waiting for builder to do quote on house before putting in a second offer. Good luck with your muffins... I am going to go and make an apple cake now . YUM.

madhide · 15/03/2007 10:21

Jay - saw you posted about maternity allowance the other day how long before money comes through I sent signed form back on the 5th saying I stopped work on the 2nd and want mat leave to start from 5th.

Does money come through quite quickly do you know or is it backdated for a month and I therefore have to wait until the 5th April?

Piffle · 15/03/2007 10:40

Ooooh how exciting for Rosy and how lovely for her son to update us! I hope she has her baby now! she sounded very ready to go so bet it was quick and easy LOL

Might be something for ds to do when it happens for me... Running commentary LOL

I'm here, nothing new to report, slept ok again, had a few decent contractions before bed, that got a few eyebrows raised, but they were ok once I was in bed. Woken by about 4 BH's in the night but not getting longer or stronger.
Midwife says I'm dilating and cervix is "ripe" and ready, head is well down -she says any time in the next week or so. she says the heftier contractions are false labour rather than BH's and these do help dilate, at some point they merge into established labour but of course could be today could be next week...
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Am off to TK Maxx with my mum (half hour drive so not going alone) to get ds a new school bag.

Another day being headed down
39 weeks tomorrow
I despair as I get near me EDD - how stupid is that huh

Mossie · 15/03/2007 11:25

Found you!

I'm still here, obviously, no sign of anything happening. Actually I was sick this morning, and I thought, "ooh I've read somewhere that you can be sick in labour" but nothing developed and it's clearly just more of the morning sickness that I've had on and off throughout this pregnancy!

Had my driving lesson, which didn't go amazingly well probably because I was knackered. I went back to bed about eight o'clock but couldn't sleep, I just lay there feeling sorry for myself!

I haven't even walked the dogs yet, so I'm going to do that now in the hope some fresh air might help me clear my fuzzy head a bit!

I wonder where Rosy's up to, maybe she already has her baby!?

Piffle sounds like you'll be next perhaps?

Laidback ikwym about tempting fate. But maybe if you go overdue a trip to Cornwall could be just the thing? Using Sod's Law to work for you?

When I smoked, I would use Sod's Law to my advantage. Whenever I was waiting for a bus, I'd light up, and sure enough within the space of a few drags the bus would be there and I'd have to put my ciggie out!

Kitty I'm sorry you're not feeling well. You know I think you and I might be the last to pop, we'll be here on a very quiet early April thread!

Lunar how are you feeling, with you still working, are you okay?

TheBlonde · 15/03/2007 11:48

Rosy's son updated the old thread...

By rosylonginglily on Thu 15-Mar-07 11:42:32
rosylily's son again, baby was born at 11mins past 9 and he is 8.4 pounds

muppethasakitten · 15/03/2007 11:55

Hooray!! congrats to Rosy ... crikey... another boy... what's going on?

divastrop · 15/03/2007 11:58

wow-i didnt realise how many are still waiting.

congrats to rosy

good luck to everyone else whos vanished off to have babies today

LunarSea · 15/03/2007 12:01

Mossie - I'm only working a couple of hours a day (from home) really now, so just enough to take my mind off things without being too arduous.

Am having loads of BH's this morning though and baby does seem to have dropped a bit since yesterday (he's having one of his being in the right position days, rather than with his back on my right where he seems most comfortable). I keep doing the all fours/sleep on the other side, etc stuff, and he'll move, but then the next day he's right back where he was! I've got a MW appointment this afternoon, so hopefully he'll stay in the right place until then.

Trouble is, after having to be induced last time, which meant going almost instantly from nothing happening to really strong 45 second contractions with only 15 seconds in between, I don't really know what a normal early labour feels like.... so the changes this morning (BH's are every 3 or 4 minutes, but not really painful, just uncomfortable) might be the start of something, or they might not.

Actually I'm still betting on next weekend as it DH's birthday on the Friday, the school Easter fayre, and ds has a party to go to on the Saturday, and ds is entered in a ski race on the Sunday - sods law is that things will kick off just at the time when organising things around it will be the most difficult!

LaidbackinEngland · 15/03/2007 12:04

Congratulations Rosy !!!!!!!!! Yeah !

Hope you had a good labour - can't wait to hear what you ahve named the wee fellow and to see some pics.

Mossie · 15/03/2007 12:44

Oh that's brilliant news for Rosy!!! Congratulations

Lunar glad to hear you're not hard pegging it at work like you were! Not long for you either by the sounds of it!

I wonder where Evenhope is not heard from her for a bit?

Had a bit of food and now feel a bit less sick, so I'm going to have a coffee and then tidy the house, it's a tip, and once again covered in Merlin's hair. Surely he has to stop malting at some point?

kittywaitsfornumber6 · 15/03/2007 13:35

Hooray for Rosy

I caught a glimpse of myself in my lovely mothercare red checked maternity pj's last night. I looked like Dawn French in the Vicar of Dibly

DollyPopsOut · 15/03/2007 13:45

Hello girls

Many congrats to Rosy - 8lb 4 is a lovely size. I wonder how it went and when she'll be home.

Madhide - the bump band I have is m/l and I am the same size as you. I think as they are designed to accommodate huge tummies, you'd be fine with the smaller one.

Kitty - PMSL at the Vicar of Dibley. I caught sight of my bum in a shop window today and wondered if the baby had moved round the back. I am truly huge all over.

Jay - I would actually complain that the Dr himself did not call you back. I don't do receptionists at the best of time, but when in pain, I want to talk to the main man. If you can be arsed, I would actually file a complaint about this and the lack of home visits. It's not why we pay all our taxes etc. When you are in that much pain, you deserve a home visit.

Eids, sorry about your broken night. Hope both DDs are well today.

Hello Mossy, have bras onthe side ready to post.

Hello everyone else - look forward to hearing more news soon. Am having some girls over for supper tonight and will be waddling chez tesco for a pudding. Have made stew so not all out of a packet. I warned them that if things went really tits up it would be takeout . It might still be if the stew is inedible as I am not blessed with great skill in the kitchen...

Hang on in there girls - not too long for any of us now.

XXXXX

Chocolatepenny · 15/03/2007 14:09

Hooray Rosy, He's sounds fantastic looking forward to baby pictures.
LunarSea, I still do a few hours work at home too, keeps you going . I am being betted for this sunday as it my DHs birthday he will be 30 so its a big one. I said I'll see what I can do.
Hope everybody else is chilling enjoying the sun. Its meant to snow down here next week so I'll be up to the hospital in a snow plough.
Bump has very active hands today, seems to go mad when I type, he may have something to add to MN.

morocco · 15/03/2007 14:39

hooray rosy!!!

no news at all today, all very boring, but at least I can make my aquanatal class tonight. highlight of my week.
