Hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet but have been away on holidays for the last month. We got back to 34 heat so that will take some getting used to again but I'm very pleased to be home and in my own bed!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and 'enjoyed' the New Year celebrations.

I have an appointment with my Doctor tomorrow so looking forward (also still a bit nervous) to seeing the baby again.

Carolann8584 · 16/01/2017 10:05

Had my first pregnancy yoga class with the Daisy Foundation on Friday, did a few different exercises and she gives a bit of info on why we were doing certain movements etc and explained how it all helps with the birth.

Anybody else doing anything similar?

Butterpuff · 16/01/2017 11:42

Hi All, I also had wc ages ago. I had wc as a baby and it nearly killed me and my mum (through the stress!) my good friend also had it and she has permanent hearing problems because of it so I'm all for it.

Id have loved to have done pregnancy yoga but couldn't find any, so just hypnobirthing for us which is a bit Hmm

Your all brave with the scales, I haven't even checked. My face is looking fat though so I must have put on quite a bit.

I have an itchy belly button, I'm hoping its not the start of stretch marks as I didn't get a single one with dd.

Saw my cousins baby yesterday. Awww. So cute, I cant wait to have another squidgy baby in the house.

Carolann8584 · 16/01/2017 13:23

How's everyone's bumps?

Struggling today, very active LO and very achy bump combo

Butterpuff · 16/01/2017 14:10

Itchy belly, highly active and quite high so breathing is uncomfortable today. Not achy though so that's a positive. I do have back ache, but that is the fault of my non sleeping toddler sharing the bed last night rather than the baby!

30wks here, big bump and high so I'm wheezy a lot of the time, have had a permanent cough for 2 months now following a cold and nose is blocked 90% of the time so I have become a mouth breathing pug, which in addition to my waddling makes for a very attractive Lurkin.

Bump is very busy, a little kungfu master but I love feeling it and I'm convinced baby gets more active when I chat to it. I always say good morning before I get up and recently have been rewarded with a few kicks in response. Generally natter/sing to it through the day too. Bub seems to like curling up under my right ribs too. Makes me sit up straight! Grin

Also have a sore back, poor posture and working at home on a rubbish chair. I have Pilates tonight, some of it is a challenge as I feel so cumbersome these days, but giving it a bash!

Hope you are all well x

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 17/01/2017 03:54

Carol, I've been doing some pregnancy yoga classes and have enjoyed them - it's actually the only exercise I've been doing so I am trying to stick to them despite being very uncoordinated :)

Ha ha Butter, yesterday my obstetrician told me I have a pregnant face so you're not the only one with a rounder face. Are you not enjoying the hypno-birthing?

Thanks Hugh, it was lovely but tiring! When are you due? Hopefully baby stays put until after your meeting. When do you start maternity leave?

I feel similar Lurkin - I'm also a 30 weeks blocked up waddler - so attractive! I hope the pilates class went well.

I had a scan yesterday and the baby's weight was estimated at 4lbs exactly. He also has his feet and legs up by my ribs so that explains the pain I've been getting - I'm kind of looking forward to him dropping just to get some relief for breathing and so my poor ribs can have a break!

I found it relaxing, I also liked that she explained why we were doing what we were doing and how it helps. I'm sure you could find something on youtube Hugh if you can't get to a class.

I finished both hospital bags yesterday, I have a feeling I will be early, no medical reason why just a feeling, hope not too early I'm working up to 37 weeks.

MotherofA · 17/01/2017 21:28

Hi All ,

Glad everyone is doing well ! Went out for breakfast on Sunday and a walk around town with DP DD & DSC .... on the way back I got excruciating pains like period pains for about an hour ?! I was so scared I've never had braxton hicks before so not sure if it was that . DP made me sit down and after a bit it passed !
Washed all crib and pram blankets & sheets . I forgot how much I had bought , oh changing bag came too which made me Smile. It's a Tiba & Marl one. Anyone got any new purchases ?

Butterpuff · 17/01/2017 21:33

Genghis I think if I had done it with Dd I'd have loved the hypnobirthing. But it's a bit full on you will have a magical birthing experience if you are relaxed, breath, are positive and use affirmation/deep relaxation techniques. I did all that with dd as its kind of my lifestyle and nature.. and had an EMCS also this time I know I won't get that magic experience either as I'm having an ELCS so its not that relevant and I know it's not as certain to work as sold. Makes me feel a bit sad I don't get another go at intervention free birth.

I did Pilates up to 37 weeks with Dd now my only exercise is running around after Dd.

Am having a crap week. MIL problems, stressing about baby's op, tired, bathroom fitters running over, boiler on the blink and car in the garage. But today did a pregnancy reflexology session then spent the day with my parents and I feel so much better. Definitely recommend reflexology for a bit of pampering.

MotherofA · 17/01/2017 21:59

Ah butter you have way too much going on bless you ! Hope the stress lessens asap ! Found a few articles on Pinterest about ELCS , good to read . I am also buying a band / support thing to help rejoin and train muscles and support back after .

Sorry Hugh I have no clue about the sterilising situation, though I did just look up those milton balls and they look great!! Good luck with that meeting, fingers crossed it does all go smoothly.

Butter I'm sorry you're having such a crap week - hopefully things improve for you. Thanks for the info on the hypnobirthing - I think in the next couple of weeks I'll look more into it but be realistic in my expectations and just take from it what I want (if that's possible!)

I'm glad you're feeling better Mother - that must have been scary. Hooray on getting your changing bag - I can't get over how expensive some of them are! I now have the pram and carseat so am feeling very organised :)

Yikes, hospital bags done already Carol. Actually, I suppose that makes sense! I still have to decide where I want to give birth (choice of three) though my doctor doesn't seem too worried about organising it, so I'm following his lead.

MotherofA · 18/01/2017 09:32

Wow 8 Hugh ! Haha Shock. I need to order a couple more blankets I think .
I don't know for sure about sterilisers at hospital but I was looking at those balls not long ago and I'm sure you can use them straight away ? I'm using soothers (if she wants them ) and was thinking of getting one .
Yes I couldn't believe the cost of some changing bags ghengis , some really plain ones as well !
My mum is buying our car seat so I'm waiting impatiently for that haha .

MotherofA · 18/01/2017 10:19

Had the dreaded insomnia last night and awful back pain . I've noticed I seem to get this shooting pain in my back after hoovering ?! It passes after a day .
Also really struggling to catch my breath now despite baby's head being down . My bump is really huge and I am quite small so generally can't be arsed to do much at all ha .

I have heating again! Grin tomorrow the car gets fixed. The world is improving.

We have the older version of this www.obaby.co.uk/product_details.php?search_string=changing+bag&item_id=1902 and its been absolutely fine for two years and will be used again for new baby. It was only about £20 I think.

I also have a small wash bag that goes in it with enough room for 1-2 nappies, wipes, mini cream and nappy bag which I throw into whatever bag I'm carrying for short trips. I then restock when I get back. Its easier to take that into a changing room than the whole bag with spare clothes random detritus etc.

Sorry for the insomnia I had a great night last night. Dd slept through from 8.30 to 7.30 no coming into bed with us and sleeping on my head. So I slept so much more, just a wake up for half an hour at 5am which is babies usual wake mummy up time at the moment.

I've not really thought about a hospital bag. I think as a section date is planned ill end up doing it the day before!

MotherofA · 18/01/2017 12:46

Ahhhh Hugh I wonder if it will be a boy ! Did you keep both your DC clothes ?
Haha butter no child sleeping on your head sounds good !
I have no idea why I can't sleep maybe excitement / nerves ! Thankfully it's not every night .
I am getting excited now to meet her , keep wondering what she will look like he he .
