Back in work today, felt really drained towards the end of last week so didn't make it into the office. Feel like I'm getting the cold shoulder today for being off. really can't wait to finish work! I would finish earlier than planned but then I would need to come back in before Christmas and really don't want to. I like the idea of starting back in the new year.

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. I'm having a bit of a bad couple of weeks. Sorry if I bring you down but I kind of need to share. We are having our on suite fixed as it has been out of use for nearly two years and we thought it best to have it done before baby arrives as we may need it with extra help etc. It was supposed to be completed in 5 days before Christmas. Its now in its 4th week. The car broke we got it fixed, someone drove into the car, the boiler broke everything that can go wrong has been going wrong. I'm exhausted and the exhaustion is making it harder for me to cope mentally with what lies ahead. Tomorrow we are going to be visiting the NICU and SCBU units at Great Ormond Street and UCLH as well as having a check up on baby. Reality has hit that in a short time our baby will arrive and it will not be well. We will not get hugs we will get monitors, tubes, incubators and I will have to leave my DD at home without me for a number of weeks. She has just hit a clingy stage, wants nobody but mummy and has been sleeping in our bed most nights from around 2am because she just wont settle in her own room. I'm really struggling with all of this at the moment.

Carolann8584 · 23/01/2017 13:45

Hugh I finish 4 weeks on Friday. Still have so much to do at home and with the way things are at work I'm not really motivated to come in TBH.

Butter [Flowers] and a hug.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 24/01/2017 06:07

I'm so sorry to read about all that stress Butter on top of the anxiety and worry about your baby and DD. Hopefully the visit today goes well, and at the least you will feel a bit more prepared for what will happen once the baby is born. Sorry not to be more helpful but definitely thinking of you and please do vent away here Flowers

I hope work goes better today Carol? Try and ignore the bad feeling - just think, you won't have to see them soon for months and months! Oh and I see why you'd want to wait until the New Year to start again.

Carolann8584 · 24/01/2017 09:40

All the best for today Butter Will try Flowers again Smile

Just arrived at work late (great!) My clutch went on the way in, took to garage round the corner when I got here, said there's nothing wrong with it! looked at me like I was a crazy pregnant lady who imagined it! Anyway I actually got a good morning, you ok out of my manager when I got in Smile

Today might me a good day to put in my holiday request for my last 2 days Smile

Carolann8584 · 24/01/2017 16:53

WOW! Just been told I am having an informal chat about my absences! I have a few days during my pregnancy but I thought that doesn't go on record? I wouldn't say I've had a lot!

My high BP started when I was last called into a meeting after I couldn't feel the baby move and was advised by my MW to go to the hospital which was investigated as an unauthorised absence, later taken back but still enough to cause me stress.

Wow carol what a bunch of tw*@ts*! When I was young (10 years ago) and carrying my daughter , I worked in retail and had severe morning sickness throughout . I was sick at work and fainted yet they did the same to me ! They tried to say they wanted access to my medical records. I said no , got signed off sick the last 6 weeks of pregnancy and never went back ! It's absolutely awful that women are still treated like this . Just focus on your baby and getting out of there . Good luck Flowers

I can't believe it Carol (well actually I can!) but what a bunch of feckers! Like the others said, they really can't discipline you (or if they do, you can take it further so they would be stupid to try). Just stick to your facts, and I'd even mention how you're finding the constant bringing up of absence like the last issue, which they were at fault with is stressing you out, and is not good for you or your baby. Good luck!

Carolann8584 · 25/01/2017 09:05

Thanks ladies, car brokedown twice on the way to work, so much for "there's nothing wrong with it" think I will find a different garage today.

Will see how my meeting goes today, didn't dare check my BP this morning Confused

How was it yesterday butter?

Carolann8584 · 25/01/2017 09:07

Oh and here's a pic of baby's wallpaper, had to buy yesterday, they were down to 3 rolls!! I panicked lol

Gosh, you're having a real run of it Carol! I hope the car gets sorted, and good luck later on! The wallpaper is lovely.

MotherofA · 25/01/2017 11:40

Why is it in pregnancy there always seems to be a million other stresses going on !? So sorry to hear of you stress Carol Flowers. That wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous and I would actually copy if we had a nursery haha . Going to enjoy one last summer here as we have such a sun trap / BBQ friendly garden then we will have to start looking for bigger . My DD wants her own room (she currently shares with DSD) which means putting DSC in one room , DD in another and DD2 in another .... head spinning !

Carolann8584 · 25/01/2017 12:42

Car is going to car heaven. Tried to go home at lunch and didn't make it out of the carpark! We were buying a new car anyway just not for a couple of weeks Angry

OH is away at a conference so I will be waddling to the bus home(3 of them!)

MotherofA · 25/01/2017 13:20

Bless you Sad

My OH insisted I get a taxi home as he didn't want me getting 3 buses. I am viewing a car today at lunch hoping they will see the bump and be nice to me if I try a make a deal Smile

I think I actually felt my bump get bigger last night, my belly button certainly feels more shallow but it's not "popped" yet Smile 33 weeks today, can't wait until Tuesday, we have another growth scan so can have a sneak peek at our little lady.

Good luck with scan today Butter hope they find your chart soon Smile

Carolann8584 · 26/01/2017 10:50

Sorry Hugh Good luck with your scan and hope you find your chart Smile

MotherofA · 26/01/2017 11:08

Hope all is well at scan Hugh and good luck bartering for the car carol ! Smile
