SummerBobbi · 12/01/2017 20:08

Hello :)
New to Mumsnet and very late to this thread!
I'm due a little girl March 29th and already have a 4 year old DS.

We have a name but keeping it quiet too.
Not had my Whooping cough jab either Carolann8584, had it booked but then the surgery had a fridge failure :/ hoping to have it next week.

Ooh strange Hugh. How comes you were able to have your flu jab then?
I felt rough after my flu jab (sounds like you did too) so a bit nervous about what the WC jab will do.
I didn't get vaccinated against anything with my first 5 years ago, so was a bit surprised this time.
Hopefully you find someone soon. How far along are you?

SuperDuperJezebel · 12/01/2017 21:13

I had mine as soon as it was available, 21 weeks was it? Wanted to get it out of the way.

Cloeycat · 12/01/2017 23:15

I had my whooping cough jab last week and it wasn't bad actually. Very quick and didn't really have a sore arm for more then the day and didn't feel rough or anything.

BeccaSays · 13/01/2017 10:13

I've had the flu jab and whooping cough jab. Had them weeks ago, no side effects with either except a bit of a sore arm with WH. Every time I go to see the midwife ( I seem to get a new one every time!) they ask if I've had both of them so must be important to get it done.

MotherofA · 13/01/2017 11:36

Glad she woke up Carol ! Welcome Summer . That sounds awful Hugh glad you are feeling better .
I have controversially decided not to have the jabs as I am fit and well and never had them with DD , pretty sure they didn't even offer them then .

All ok at the hospital again Smile not back again until next growth scan on the 31st, think its the longest between appointments in a while.

Mentioned my Whooping cough vac, said to get it done next time I'm in.

Not noticed being hungrier, I am still on my milk kick so that might be why Smile am on about 3 pints a day so I have cut down from 4

LurkinMerkin · 13/01/2017 15:34

Hellooo! Another late arrival to the thread! I'm 34 and live near Aberdeen. Due our first baby on 27th March ( official due date) but having a planned section due to previous surgery so may go in a bit sooner (?) yet to get actual date. Have whacked on almost 2st here too, just so fricken hungry all the time! Grin Feeling cumbersome and a bit wheezy, but no other complications really. (Apart from every morning trying to get out of bed!) Had a growth scan last week and bub is progressing v well and is plotted as weighing 3.5lbs, have another on 30th Jan. I've had my flu and whooping cough ( that is a hurty one, so do it in your 'other' arm but no ill effects otherwise to report) Hope you are all keeping well, glad to have found you!

LurkinMerkin · 13/01/2017 15:35

Sorry for lack of paragraphs, will do better!

Carolann8584 · 13/01/2017 15:46

Was 5 hours late in taking my heartburn medication, needed to pick up at my local pharmacy not hospital one Sad now my heartburn is the worst its been in ages, had a pint of pint, still burning. I have my first antenatal class (incs pregnancy yoga) later, hope I don't have to do too much bending etc makes it worse.

Carolann8584 · 13/01/2017 15:49

Welcome Lurkin

MotherofA · 13/01/2017 23:55

Hi lurkin glad you and bubba are well .
Oh no carol hope you feel better ?
Yes I know what you mean Hugh it's a tricky one isn't it !
I think I am over eating a bit as in having choc every evening , approaching 2 stone gain and don't really want to go over that so might start rationing my chic in take , good diet bar that though Smile

SummerBobbi · 14/01/2017 08:32

Hi Lurkin :)

I'm so glad it's not just me, I'm been unnaturally hungry at the moment. I feel like I'm constantly eating.
I was quite sick at the beginning (all fine now and so is baby) so I've not gained as much as my previous pregnancy (about 10lbs since 12 weeks so far). Still wary of piling it on in the last 10 weeks!

alphabook · 14/01/2017 13:48

Re: vaccines, bear in mind that the whooping cough vaccine is for the baby not for you. There's been a big increase in newborn babies getting WC before they're old enough to get vaccinated, so they've started vaccinating while they're still in the womb.

Welcome Lurkin!

Hi everyone and thank you for the welcome. Smile

I'm ok with the weight gain, I have scales in the bathroom and sheer curiosity has me on them quite often, marvelling at the numbers. I do have a v big bump, I'm still wearing
( mostly, except pjs) the same size of clothes as before but the bump bit is being tested to its limit on my maternity stuff Grin

I have a giant v shaped maternity pillow for sleeping, it's about 12ft long, and supports me on my side or back ( propped up with lots more pillows!) I've found it really helpful for sleeping comfily.

Congrats on becoming an auntie Hugh any babies I see these days make me so excited!
