Morning ladies
Hope you are all keeping well. Just thought I would start this weeks thread (I am still catching up with you guys from last weeks).
TPT today and I have dared to measure I am 12+6 weeks and currently meaasure 9.5 sheets. I can't imagine how big I am going to get with two in there.
Anyway I have decided to go for the Nuchal scan and have the last apt on Friday afternoon. HOpefully hti swill all go okay and nothing else to worry about, if I come back as high risk I think I will go for further testing (that's todays plan anyway - subject to hormonal changes )

I will endeavour to catch up with all your news later but just a quickie - DH was helped out of his cot when a baby by his big sis who accidentally (cough cough) dropped hime down the stairs. He broke his knee and still has occasional trouble with it now, so not overprotective at all to get checked out. Sensible in my mind

Cheers Have a godd TPT.

Mornin'

Got my triple test result last night and my risk is 1 in 1500. I'm really pleased. Didn't expect it to be that good (seems good to me - for an old foagie). Won't do any more tests now.

SkyTV - Good luck with your decision. Think you should go with your heart and what will make the rest of your pregancy easiest. I think in my case I would just be so scared of m/c'ing again that it would sway me away from it. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and cross all my fingers and toes for you instead. xx

SKYTVADDICT · 21/11/2006 10:20

Morning all

Still haven't decided. Think we will just turn up Thursday and see what happens.

For TPT I am still 9 1/2 sheets.

Juicylucythe2nd · 21/11/2006 10:26

Still 7 1/2, but definately spreading below the waist. Don't know if that is all the chocolate I'm eating though rather than Pod getting bigger

Creena · 21/11/2006 11:42

Morning all!

TPT - I can't remember if I was 9.5 or 8.5 last week but either way I've gone down to 8.25 this week. Rest assured though that I look and feel absolutely massive! I'm starting to find that it takes more energy and time than it used to to put socks on but that could just be me being knackered!

Frenchsmallfry · 21/11/2006 13:30

Good day to you all. (sounds a bit posh) sorry

tpt - 7.5 sheets 14+4 weeks. Yey, up half a sheet, definately all the crp I've been eating though.

Hope you are all begining to bloom. It says in my book that we should be looking radient and glowing at 15 weeks. Yeah right, still feel knackered.

largeginandtonic · 21/11/2006 14:15

Whaaaaaat am still 8 sheets, i may start measuring the tops of my thighs instead as im sure thats where its all going....

I went shopping today for maternity bras, bleuh! They are not attractive, i went to marks n spencer and came out empty handed. Am off in to portsmouth tomorrow as i have my scan (17 weeks) in the morning, so will shop after that i think.

Good news on the results juicy what a relief.

Hope you are ok skytv, an open mind is the best way to go with anything in prg i think.

Have fun at Thanksgiving all you American chicks... We expect you to have gone up by at least 2 sheets next tpt!

at weird family thinking its over cautious to take a baby to A and E after falling down the stairs! Course she should have done, at them for her.

FSF am not by any means glowing but do feel loads better, not sick at all now and much less tired, then again i am 17 weeks this thursday! Its about time i suppose....

Creena · 21/11/2006 14:34

I'm nowhere near glowing. I'm not physically sick as often as I used to be but I am still nauseous and knackered all of the time. I'm 13+3 now, so still got a week and bit to go before I know for sure whether I'm going to be like this all the way through (crosses fingers, touches wood etc). I just wish I had the energy to do something useful!

LG&T - the maternity bras in M&S are horrendous! I was measured there a few weeks back and the only one they had in a G cup was this great big harness of a thing. I bought it to be on the safe side but it was umcomfortable to wear as I really didn't feel that I was getting any support from it. Then one of my friends (also pregnant) told me that, as long as you were measured properly, you could wear normal underwired ones until the last few weeks of pregnancy. So I went off to Figleaves and ordered some nice ones that also happened to be reduced, so not only did I get nicely fitting bras, they were also bargains!

Frenchie - I have a book that tells me that, at 13 weeks, the baby should be the size of half a banana - what size banana, I wonder?! I always laugh when pregnancy books liken your baby to some sort of fruit or veg - so far, I've had grapes, pea pods and (bizarrely) a lipstick case!

MKG & Jessinwa - enjoy your Thanksgiving! Happy Holidays!!

MKG · 21/11/2006 15:39

Morning to all, ok just me. Afternoon all.

I don't have news to report. Things are the same here. I'm normal and surrounded by crazy people.

MKG · 21/11/2006 15:39

Of course it's still early, I might have something later on.

scootermum · 21/11/2006 16:01

Hi all,
My heart is gladdened today by the news that my deputy at work whom I do not get on with, has got a new job elsewhere.
She was incredibly rude and slightly derogatory when telling me the news, (she doesnt like me as she applied for my job when I got it and has resented the fact and made it clear, ever since). She has clearly forgotten who will be writing her main reference!

Feel ok today. Not counting on it though...
Was in bed asleep with dd at 7.30 last night, so that may be why, although did then wake at 3am.Have dreadful insomnia at the moment..

Hope all are well.Do you know Im quite literally cock-a-hoop.I didnt realise how much that woman was getting me down!

Getting very nervous about my scan on Friday now.I couldnt bear another missed m/c I dont think and found out about my others at this stage scan before, so will feel better when its all over, hopefully with some postive news. Then I can really get excited!Who am I kidding?I was excited weeks ago!

scootermum · 21/11/2006 16:05

We are having a Thanksgiving lunch for the people who live in my service (for some reason-caterings idea), so will be sharing in you American ladies joy to some extent!
Although we wont be having any yams apparently, candied or otherwise...
Oh dear I do think I may watch too much American tv, given that I seem to know an awful lot about Thanksgiving menus. But I am OBSESSED by The O.C.I simply cannot give it up!

Juicylucythe2nd · 21/11/2006 16:11

Blooming?? Beginning to think that's a myth.

Threw-up while brushing teeth this morning for posterity's sake

Please let it get better soon, or I'm going to loose all my back teeth

Good luck for Friday Scootermum. It's great when annoying people leave your work, isn't it.

Happy Thanksgiving all you us girls.

Juicylucythe2nd · 21/11/2006 16:15

Oh and don't get me started on maternity bras - Passion Killers. Pure and Simple.

I'm only just getting the energy back for some hanky panky and will have to talk DH into doing it in the dark so he doesn't see how ugly my undies are

Save us - who knows a site for attractive maternity bras??

pebblemum · 21/11/2006 16:17

Afternoon all (morning MKG, Jessinwa)

I am definatley glowing at the moment, ive got lovely red spots on my chin and around my mouth (but i dont think thats what pregnancy books mean by glowing is it) I always gets spots at around this stage of pregnancy though so hopefully they will all go in a week or so. Im still feeling tired but as long as i dont sit down and relax between 1-2pm then i can beat it, as soon as my bum hits a seat around that time, thats it im gone, fast asleep.

Had quite a nice (but hectic) day today. We went shopping with MIL and SIL. Ive come to the conclusion ds2 is spoilt. We went into a Poundland shop and without us realising we had all told ds2 that he could have £2 to spend which meant he would be able to choose two things. The crafty little thing went around and put two things in each of our baskets (i ended up with four in mine as dh had also given him £2)He came home with 3 cars, a train, a dumper truck, a plastic snowman beaker, a christmas puzzle, chocolate lollies (to share with ds1), chocolate coins and a book. It wasnt until we had all paid and met back up outside that we realised what we had done. I bet ds2 thought christmas had arrived early. Before coming home i convinced everyone that they wanted to go to Subway for a roll. Im ashanmed to say i had a foot long one and i ate it all up, even dh struggle with his but me, i had no problem eating mine I blamed the fact im pregnant and needed to replace all the energy i had used walking round the shops, dont think they believed me though!!

Im now off to measure myself, i bet you an imaginary KK donut that im still the same size as last week, 9sheets. See you in a bit

pebblemum · 21/11/2006 17:02

Well i guess i will have to eat the imaginary donut myself, im now 9.75 sheets. I knew i shouldnt have had that roll The funny thing is i was sure i looked smaller today, must have been cleverly disguised by my clothes.

Ds2 has just had a bath and is now running around naked refusing to put any clothes on, not even pants, i told him the birds would peck his willy off and all he did was stand in front of the window wiggling and going nah nah, come here birdies He thinks hes so funny!! I dread to think what he will be like when hes older, i have a horrible feeling hes going to turn out like his dad, a joker and pain in the arse. Just hope this little bean takes after me like ds1 does otherwise i will run away

largeginandtonic · 21/11/2006 17:09

Oh KK (wail, howl) i want one soooo bad. If the scan goes well tomorrow i may have to take a trip for KK'S, its only a hundred mile round trip

Frenchsmallfry · 21/11/2006 19:02

How come you get a scan at 17 weeks lg&t?

Frenchsmallfry · 21/11/2006 19:05

Happy thanksgiving MKG and Jess.

lol pebble at ds2, he is going to be a money maker though, clever little lad.

Will be thinking of you on Friday sccotermum, good luck.

aprilmeadow · 21/11/2006 19:29

just found out that the woman buying our house (supposed to be moving on friday) hasnt signed the paperwork to release the funds for her deposit and basically told me fcuk off when i called her to ask if she had done it! I'm so . Broke down at work and to cut a long story short the bank recon we could have 2 mortgages running at the same time (as we can afford to do that - only coz dh has his own company) and my bosses have offered to lend us the money we need for the deposit!! £30K. I nearly fell off my chair at that!

We are just waiting for the bank to let us know if we can run the 2 together and then i will have great pleasure in tell the woman to go and get knotted. Great thing about that is, she lives with her daughter 3 houses down and has ordered loads of furniture and other bits and wont have a house to put them in!

Anyway, onto a more positive note:
TPT - 8sheets, although it is a different brand!

Happy thanksgiving to MKG and Jess x

MKG · 21/11/2006 19:39

Wait a minute everyone Thanksgiving isn't till Thursday. I've still got a day and a half more to dream of Turkey and mashed potatoes, and stuffing, and gravy, cranberry sauce, and green beans, and sweet potatoes, and pumpkin pie, and apple pie.

Thanksgiving is a pregnant woman's dream.

largeginandtonic · 21/11/2006 19:49

Its the only scan im entitled to FSF, any other we have to pay for, its not even an anomoly scan, im not sure what they are looking for really. I have to see the consultant too, oh what a joy, they never like me. I want a home birth after a section and then third degree tear so clearly am mad, reckless individual putting her baby in grave danger. They make me so but im not scared of them anymore. So wish me luck

pebblemum · 21/11/2006 21:49

LG&T good luck for tomorrow, bet you cant wait to see your little bean again, hope you get lots of good pictures.

MKG the thought of all that lovely food is making my mouth water. I love turkey and all the trimmings, think of us on thursday while you are tucking in.

Aprilmeadow, hope you get to tell that women where to shove her paperwork. My parents had trouble last year when they were selling their house, a couple wanted it but still hadnt signed anything or sorted their money after two months. In the end my parents found another buyer Some people just dont seem in a rush to do anything.

Frenchsmallfry · 21/11/2006 22:05

Good luck tommorow lg&t, when I had ds in the UK I only had a 20 weeks scan. It is agonising waiting that long. I only asked as it seemed an unusual time to scan. Everywhere differs so much.

Wave to little bean for us all.

Hope you have better luck with the completion of your house aprilmeadow. Some people just can"t do organised and straight forward can they?

Sorry MKG and Jess, just shows how little I know about thanksgiving, actually to be honest I know NOTHING other than everyone seems to eat alot? Why, I couldn't tell you, but I'm sure it's wonderful.

MKG · 22/11/2006 01:25

Here's a Thanksgiving rundown FSF. It is always the 4th Thursday in November, why I don't know. We do it to celebrate the first harvest that the pilgrims collected and supposedly shared the feast with the Native Americans. Usually there are football games. Not soccer, football good old American football. I actually hate football, so that doesn't affect me. I don't know why we eat what we do, but we do. I just like it because the family gets together and has a big meal, without the pressure of buying gifts.
