The woman on the capital breakfast show is pregnant and announced it this morning as I was doing the school/nursery run, I found myself sat at the traffic lights sobbing! Wtf?! I don't even know her and I'm doing proper snotty crying, the kids thought id gone mad! Bloody hormones

I've just looked at the website pretty reasonable. I looked at the AMA wrap I think it was for similar/same product was £35

I have cried twice in the last two days about the Ghanian football team's singing. I have a bit of a moment about most African choral stuff anyway, but this was quite spectacular... a 21 second video, blub. Ha.

M&S has 20% off again today for anyone looking for some baby stuff. Unfortunately the starter sets seem to still be sold out in newborn but they have 3-6 months.

Anyone had experience with the Stokke Xplory or Stokke Crusi as Mothercare is offering a free car seat to go with it. I might examine!

Blimey - just checked the prices for those Stokke ones. I think not! I could buy a pony for £900!

I bought it on recommendation from a lady on this thread (sorry, can't remember who now!), I haven't opened it yet as I assumed I would be returning it but I'll have a look at it tonight, yes it's a stretchy wrap for newborns :)

About to venture into the subject of pushchairs again with dp. The one I want has £150 off at the moment but he keeps saying it's too soon to buy! Would it be really bad if I just went ahead and ordered it anyway?!

Gosh I can't believe some of us will soon be 30 weeks. We are going to start having births soon you know. Our first on the November 2012 was at 27 weeks (twins - both fine thank goodness but it scared the rest of us into packing hospital bags - on the subject of which Kirsti was it you who asked - just any old hold all or weekend suitcase will do). I was due the end of the month but had the 5th baby on the thread jumping the queue massively somewhat.

Morning all. Love the title of the new thread but our IT system at work has flagged it as containg pornography God knows what they think I'm looking at! Pubic is obviously a watch word so now I'll v obviously be doing now work by tapping away on my phone

My boyfriend started being interested in the cost of things, then I think just got bored. I've ordered the stuff I want - to be honest, I'm paying for it out of my 'maybe baby' fund, so the cost shouldn't matter that much to him. I liked having the pushchair arrive yesterday, we played with it and made sure we understood how it worked, then I washed all various parts of it so it's 'ready' - will box it all back up tonight, wrapped in bubblewrap to try and stop plaster dust getting all over it, and put it in our spare room along with the rest of our boxed up life!

I watched something on youtube about wraps/slings this morning - maybe it was too early in the morning, but confusion kicked in. It looked like it might be nice and comfy for holding in a jelly belly after birth though, as well as carrying a baby around.

fatpony - a parent at school recommended the Stokke, I saw the price and changed my mind! Try ebay though, things are sometimes really cheap - like I said, we got £360 worth of stuff for £140, and even though the wheels show that it's been used, you'd not know in terms of cleanliness and other wear etc that it's second hand.

Fatpony hear hear to Goats suggestion of eBay. We got £1000 of double buggy and bassinet and one cosy toes for the grand total of £277 including postage. I only need to buy one cosy toes and that'll be £25. Am v chuffed at this as I am shit at bargain finding normally.

I have to say I don't know anyone in the real world with a Stokke - it might be a London fashion thing - I'd worry about centre of gravity issues and when the kid is a bit older - them falling out of it (they can be real houdini's with buggy fastenings), I'm sure there's a reason most buggies aren't that high. I've never felt that baby is too far away from me in a normal buggy and even now with my wee lump its not caused back ache getting him in and out of it. I'm a bit about them!

Hospital bags.... Was going on to DH at the weekend that I want to get a super large fluffy towel again. You either don't get one provided or they are horrible old cardboard things. Feels so nice to have a shower and wrap up in a decent towel to get dry. Really is the simple comfortable things you want after giving birth.

I have a friend who had the Stokke and she HATED it. I used it a few times when I met up with her - it feels huge and flimsy and awkward, is impossible to fold up on your own, and barely fit into her (large) boot. It was a present of sorts, which is why she had it in the first place, and she eventually sold it and got a Maclaren, haha. So I wouldn't exactly recommend it, although you'd solve one huge issue if you weren't using it with a car. Anyway, we've made basically no purchases. There's a nearly new sale thing going on near me in July that I'm going to with a friend, and I hope to get some things there.

Thanks for new thread! Does anyone else look at other month's threads ever? Sometimes I nose at the ones where they're ready to drop as it's exciting reading birth announcements. However made me realise what a chatty lot we are as some groups have about half the number of threads as us by the end of their pregnancies! Maybe they all move onto FaceBook... or just have less to say!

I just think there are a lot of people due babies in September and October - in my immediate family/circle of friends there are 5 of us. I put it down to a particularly rainy and miserable week between Christmas and New Year!!

One of my NCT class had a stokke xplory (in London). She got it when her DC was 12 months (and had already been through a bugaboo bee and an icandy cherry). She really liked it but switched to a maclaren within 6 months (caveat: she literally has more money than sense and would throw money at any issue...it was shocking and sad to watch in a way...my and DH still talk about how they spent more than ten grand on oak nursery furniture from John Lewis!).

I have a midwife app today. Best thing about it will be the air conditioning (it's getting up to 38 degrees here today).

You'll find the thread will get mega busy when everyone is off on maternity leave and bored out of their brains going overdue. It goes quiet in the thick of births. I always felt bad for the stragglers at the end of the month (which'll be me this time unless I get another impatient one) who were huge, uncomfy and envious of everyone else's baby cuddles. Also once all of the babies arrive suddenly all of the posting starts happening at night as MN is a grat way to pass night feeds! Birth announcements are awesome. I'm starting to get very excited even thinking about it - though it's a while off yet. We need one cosy toes, a mattress for the crib and that's about it.

Is anyone in team yellow getting a hunch of what they are having? Apparently women have a 71% odds of guessing correctly if they have a strong hunch. I'm feeling really strongly that it's a girl but everyone else is saying boy. Last time I wasn't sure at all but everyone said girl so I listened to them and was wrong. This time I'm going with my gut a bit more. I really didn't have a hunch last time. Though thinking back I did mentally refer to him as a he in my head. This time I'm very much referring to it as a her. Hmmm. Might need some more girls stuff at some point down the line... Or I could be totally wrong AGAIN!

My best hospital bag item was a lovely fluffy dark coloured dressing gown - a tenner from Aldi. No worries about blood stains because it was dark! I used to nurse J in it too and he still insists whoever reads him his bedtime stories wears the 'gown, gown!!!!' and runs his fingers over the fluffy sleeves like a comforter. Wee sook.

I have a Stokke Xplory, and so do a couple of my friends (we live in the Midlands). I bought mine 2nd hand from ebay, and the seller had used it for 2 kids, and once I washed the covers it was like new. It is incredibly sturdy and solid, comfy for DS (who is 2.5 but the size of a 4 year old), and even though he is incredibly strong, and definitely a houdini type I have never worried he would fall out of it! We will also be using it for this little one once they get too big for a carrier (or when DS1 is in nursery, etc).

We were recently given a City Jogger Mini (which we have passed to the In-laws), and though I loved how easy it was to fold, etc it was far less easy to manoeuvre, especially when dealing with kerbs than the Stokke which friends have commented is very easy to manoeuvre one handed with a very large child sitting in it!

Sorry, I don't work for Stokke or anything but just felt I needed to comment as I love it, and we get loads of compliments on it practically every time we go out!

I've been lurking for a while but as I have delurked will also add my bump is MASSIVE.. and I am only 23 weeks.. I have never needed my 'baby on board' badge when commuting in London as people have clocked the bump from miles away.. and a few actually have offered their seats (though most still ignore you and try not to catch your eye)..

I totally ran out of work clothes that fit me last week, which included my maternity work trousers.. so had to go shopping last weekend.. Am not exactly sure what I wore when pregnant with DS1, but think it might be as my bump wasn't as big as this until I had gone on Mat leave!

Hi punky. I'm huge too :). Everyone's opinions on things are different. I don't think I've seen one of those before. We can't all be the same that would be boring.

Punky I actually keep an eye on stokkes on craigslist/ebay (my friend really liked hers and i'm a Tripp trapp fan). But they just don't seem cheap enough (I'm not paying $400+ for a buggy I'll use for one kid!). It seems like stokke, being European, is even more premium in the US.

On the changing bag front, I've decided I'll use it as an excuse for a fjallraven backpack (DS has the kid version and it's such a nifty design).

Am also massive.
