Ooh exciting times Bezza! Re GBS, I had it with both pregnancies, and had an IV drip with antibiotics (cannula in back of hand) - you need to have these at least four hours before the birth, then baby is usually observed for 24hrs and bloods tested too. At least, that's what happened with me and my boys! DS1 was a bit early (36wks) so he was given ABs by cannula too, whereas DS2 was just observed.
I assume from your post you'll be having a CS, but if not, you will be able to be fairly mobile with the drip, I stood for the entire labour with DS1, and was in a birthing pool for DS2 - you don't have to be bed bound because of it.
