Labour vibes to all, come on Maybies!!!! GrinGrinGrin

ClearlyMoo · 14/05/2014 21:58

Has anyone else got a BRUISED bump?! Baby has been kicking so hard from the inside bump is all tender and I actually have a little bluey/purple mark on the bump!?

Am I alone? Is this the most freaky thing ever?

Vikks I'm 40+4 and so definitely preggo! Went to last aqua natal yoga tonight... have got my stretch and sweep in the morning!

Eeek!!

clearly my bump is sore underneath but I think that's from laying down on my back for the scan today for 20mins, then again for 5mins for the sweep, and probably my poor pelvic floor and abdo muscles screeching at me after the rabid consultant lady rummaged around up there. But no actual bruising, you poor thing xxxxx

MrsFooCough · 14/05/2014 22:45

Haha when I walked into the ultrasound reception area this young girl with two toddlers in a pram looked at my bump and said "WOAH" Blush

randdom · 14/05/2014 22:54

I don't understand how I can be so tired despite sleeping so much. I feel bruised but can't see anything on the surface!

Bezzabelle · 14/05/2014 22:55

Waters went at 9, now in assessment unit. This baby clearly isn't waiting till elcs next fri! 37+4 today. Feel scared!

MrsFooCough · 14/05/2014 23:25

BEZZABEZZABEZZA that's so exciting!!!! My due date buddy is jumping the queue!!!!!! Good luck sweetie xxxxxxx

LongTailedTit · 14/05/2014 23:27

Ooh exciting times Bezza! Re GBS, I had it with both pregnancies, and had an IV drip with antibiotics (cannula in back of hand) - you need to have these at least four hours before the birth, then baby is usually observed for 24hrs and bloods tested too. At least, that's what happened with me and my boys! DS1 was a bit early (36wks) so he was given ABs by cannula too, whereas DS2 was just observed.

I assume from your post you'll be having a CS, but if not, you will be able to be fairly mobile with the drip, I stood for the entire labour with DS1, and was in a birthing pool for DS2 - you don't have to be bed bound because of it.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 14/05/2014 23:56

Spirael · 15/05/2014 08:06

I'm here! :) Congratulations bezza on the safe arrival of Rafe. Lovely name!

Still pregnant here, 37+6 today. Preparing to have a sulk tomorrow as DD1 arrived during the morning at 38 weeks exactly, but I suspect DD2 is too comfy and doesn't fancy coming out just yet.

On the plus side, means I should be able to attend the local carnival on Saturday. :) DD1 has been looking forward to it.

Vikks · 15/05/2014 08:22

Congratulations Bezza Grin ! Sounds very fast, can't wait to hear your story x x x

loopylou52 · 15/05/2014 08:51

Congratulations bezza, and also to ditsy (end of previous thread).

My waters went at 12:30am. Been in to be assessed and sent home again to await proper labour. Had a few pains but nothing regular yet and they attempted a sweep but my cervix was too far back, so it seems like it could be a while. If it hasn't all kicked off naturally I'll be back in tomorrow morning to be induced. Really hope it happens naturally though now I've seen the midwife-led birth centre!!
