Great to add another country to our group dhamm! Sorry your pesky boy is causing u grief at the moment, but hope he edicts quickly for you! Sorry to hear that snow is getting in the way of you enjoying your mat leave, hope you're able to get some much needed rest though xx

clearly how are you feeling this evening lovely? Hugs xx

My chuckle for today was an old family friend (who was a midwife with my grain and must be about 80) announcing to dh, my mum and i that i needed to be scrubbing floors and having plenty of sex to get this baby moving, i don't think dh knew where to look!!

Sweet dreams all

bushprincess · 15/05/2014 21:18

Edicts = evicts
Grain = gran

Autocorrect = grrrr &#$#**

dhamm22 · 15/05/2014 21:46

No wonder why the times are so off for me.. you're all in different countries! Before my maternity leave my customers at work would say the craziest things.. old women alway told me to have sex and old men always said to clean clean clean lol.. "my wife always went into labour when she was cleanin"... theyd say

JodeyP · 15/05/2014 22:18

Clearly, hope it clears up soon.

Bezzabelle, my C Section buddy, congratulations. So pleased for you and what a lovely name.

Had a MW appointment today and nothing to report. Baby is in a good position though not yet engaged. Not having any BH, just a few twinges in the cervix area. Just started to switch off from work and enjoying chilling once DS1 is in bed rather than planning lessons. Felt really happy and on a high today! Smile

This bubba has less than a week to make an appearance before C Section on Friday. Starting to really sink in now that a second C Section is going to be more than likely. This makes me a little sad that I'll never experience a natural birth but I just couldn't face another emergency one.

dhamm22 · 15/05/2014 22:32

Jody my best friend just had a natural birth after a csection.. she went 6 days over her due date got real depressed and thought that she would forsure have another csec.. she convinced the dr that friday to let her wait until monday for the csec. She got him to agree since baby looked good! And she had him that saturday!!! Dont lose hope.. sending positive vibes your way!!!!

Hi all

Well I'm a teary hormonal ogre this evening. Poor DH went and hid in his office (portacabin on farm) to escape me!

I'm Confused as silly GP (or pharmacist) prescribed/issued the canesten tablet pessary not the nice soft squidgy one. However it being Friday night and me really needing to get this sorted had a tea tree & lavender bath then popped the b*stard in... Ouchie! It's ok now it's in and hopefully will work it's magic over night! It can't get any more tender anyway!

Been massively grumpy today, realised googled that high thrush can cause irritable uterus - hence my hideous BH for last month...

DH just in the bath and then I'm hoping I'll get the big hug I've needed all day (he's been filthy as working hard on farm so didn't want to hug me before!)

Is it just me or is it BAKING tonight?!

MIGHT have to change username to GrumpyOverdueMoo!

40+5

PS Hi Dhamm. I think the vast majority of ladies on this thread are UK based, with a smattering of people in much more interesting places!

Vikks · 15/05/2014 23:26

Clearly I've suffered from thrush since I was 7 weeks pg they have always prescribed me the hard pessary tablet. I didn't know they did a soft one. Hope you get sorted fast, I've been told mine won't go until I've given birth and I can take the oral tablet. So I've been using the pessary every six days for months. I haven't been told it can make the birth more painful...hope not. X

ClearlyMoo · 15/05/2014 23:36

Every day Vikks?! Wow well done! Oh that's comforting to know. The soft one is like a bath pearl and dissolves.. Thanks for your reply, good to know you've been told it won't make things more painful. MW suggested I'd need Gas & Air for VEx if it didn't improve as I was in agony at sweep attempt today..

ClearlyMoo · 16/05/2014 00:00

Vikks just reread that properly as "every six days" for months. First time I read it as "every day for six month"

Well this snow in may in the US is very annoying!! Lol.. and yet I am so hot! Are u girls getting hot flashes.. I just swept my house and im literally on fire! And had hot flashes all last nt! I have the temp down to 58 degrees in my house..when I check my temp it is right on.

I dont know what thrush is.. I hope it clears up for you!

ClearlyMoo · 16/05/2014 01:28

Dhamm you might have to translate your temps into °C for a UK audience! Ha ha 58°C is a good temperature for a cup of tea! I love snow! I'm quite jealous!

Thrush is a yeast infection (candida) can affect you anywhere moist but often us girlies get it in our nether regions!

OP posts:
dhamm22 · 16/05/2014 02:38

Oh! Itd be about 14.4 degrees C.. pretty cold.. i would love snow.. if it wasnt 10 monthes out of the year :) and we were -35 deg C for the last 4 monthes

I got swabbed for a yeast infection today.. ive had 2 UTIs this pregnancy and both times after taking the antibiotic I got a yeast infection.. they are the worst! !! Prob a different kind.. mine went away in a few days after the insert egg thing.

I am feeling a lot better tonight.. not so hot or crampy.. just ate the second half of my pineapple :)

loopylou52 · 16/05/2014 03:35

hi all, and welcome dhamm.

Good to hear you sounding a bit more positive clearly, hope you got your well-deserved hug.

Well, still not in established labour here. Been getting fairly frequent contractions, just not regular. Was managing to sleep in between them but decided to get up and walk around a bit to get them going more but now I haven't had one for over half an hour! So frustrating! Induction is looming pretty large on the horizon now, and with it missing out on being able to use the lovely midwife-led unit. Sad

ClearlyMoo · 16/05/2014 03:36

Brrrr seriously Dhamm?! -35°C is v chilly!

No likely same kind just left untreated as I didn't realise I was suffering!

OP posts:
dhamm22 · 16/05/2014 03:44

Yes.. way below freezing.. you couldnt be outside very long.. and my poor dogs had trouble goin out to pee.. they called it the polar vortex.

I ate lots of yogurt to help my yeast infections stay at bay.. they suck.

Ive had no contractions or BH tonight.. feeling strangly good. I cant believe how many ladies are going so far past their due dates... I hope I have some kind of sign soon... this waiting game is quite boring. I want to go back to work to pass the time haha

dhamm22 · 16/05/2014 04:42

Thank you loopy ! Im sending labour vibes your way!!! Stay positive!!! :) well it's super late here in the U.S. so I'm going to try to sleep! (Yah right)

Oh and I was wondering if any of you have tried stimulating your nipples? I keep hearing it really increases contractions.. but could be dangerous... (too strong of contractions) and they advize to 'not try this at home' but im debating trying :) what do u guys think?

Choppa · 16/05/2014 06:28

Dhamm22...welcome to the thread. Our little boy no 1 is called Charlie :)
Have heard that nipple tweaking can work but only if you do it for hours!! Not much else to do though so could be worth a shot, especially if overdue!!

Loopy...it's so frustrating! Hopefully you just need the pessary and the rest happens in quite a 'natural' way for you. Will you be going in today?

Lovely to see the arrival of more beautiful bundles on the FB page.

Warning...pathetic winge coming up...
I'm now 40+4, more overdue than with Ds1 (he was born at 40+3) and feeling very grumpy, hormonal and sick of being pregnant. My hips are also going to actually fall out too!! If this boy doesn't arrive by end of tomorrow that will cause all sorts of problems with the in laws as they are not local and are going on holiday next weekend. It's possible that they won't get to come and see the baby until they get back. I am booked for a sweep on Monday and can see it coming to that. I am getting BH and some period type pains but nothing that ever turns into contractions. Was so sure we'd have a baby by this weekend :(

Love to all xxx

kally195 · 16/05/2014 08:35

choppa sorry to hear you are so fed up xx My due date is tomorrow, so give it a week and I will be feeling the same!

Don't let the in-laws stress you out - it's not something you have any control over. If they get difficult, tell them it is their fault for booking a holiday (which should make them sent how irrational being upset that baby hasn't come to their schedule is!).

I am refusing to think about my in-laws (some of you may remember my previous rants). DH is currently employing the strategy that if he ignores their attempts to contact him they will eventually give up. We can then contact them when we are ready.

AppleCrumble1 · 16/05/2014 08:35

Welcome Dhamm great to have you on board.
My sister in law is from Milwaukee & talks about the snow (she lives in the UK now) though it won't be even half as bad as where you live.

Hope your boy is behaving in your tummy today - mine can be a right wriggler (I'm 39 weeks + 4) I'm sure he'll be a big'un if the estimated scan weights are anything to go by!!

Hope everyone is feeling ok today. xx

AppleCrumble1 · 16/05/2014 08:41

Choppa I have a similar issue with MIL already coming without asking the last weekend of May when baby could in theory come if I'm late & induced finally. I'll want to see my Mum first but my parents are at least 3 hours away. Why can't people think first?!! Hugs to you x

Spirael · 16/05/2014 10:25

I haven't reached my due date yet, but I can empathise a bit with Choppa as DD1 arrived during the morning of 83+0 and that time has now passed with DD2. So I am now officially more pregnant than I have ever been before. Angry

I really thought things might be moving last night, had a few crampy feelings to go with the mini-show and tender breasts. But sadly I think it's all just my milk belatedly getting started as I've begun having some leakage this morning. Beh!

Getting a few BH this morning which is a bit unusual, normally I get them later in the day. Ocado is bringing me more pineapple shortly and then I will be tackling some cleaning, so there's still chance yet for things to get going-! I have some chilli jam I could put on my sandwiches at lunchtime too, to try and get things moving.

Got my DPs visiting this time next week, I was hoping to have had the baby by then so I can hand her over and get more sleep-! Rather than inflicting them with a huge grumpy manatee.

Vikks · 16/05/2014 10:32

Welcome Dhamm!

It's my due date today!!! I don't feel like anything is about to start so I'll be induced tomorrow. Scared is not the word!!!Confused Confused Confused

loopylou52 · 16/05/2014 10:52

Well I'm at hospital now and hooked up to drip. Cervix hasn't changed so looks like it'll be a long haul. Sad

loopylou52 · 16/05/2014 10:54

Sorry for the me me me post! Meant to wish labour vibes to all those in need.

Vikks · 16/05/2014 10:59

Good luck Lou! You never know things can change quickly, hope you're not waiting too long. X
