Bush, have u been given and induction date or they just letting u go on?

mrsmummytobe · 18/05/2014 10:08

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't posted on here in ages. I have been posting on the fb group though. Sooo just to update those of you not on fb, I gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl on 16/05/14. She is called Jemima & is so perfect & cute.

I had a pretty horrific 48 hour labour ending with me needing a forceps delivery, losing half a litre of blood & having 35 stitches! But as soon as I saw Jemima I knew it was all worth it & I'd go through it all again to have her. I think I am in shock as it was all so traumatic & I'm still in hospital. I then had my catheter taken out yesterday & found I had no bladder control whatsoever - every time I stood up I just weed on the floor without realising it & was unable to empty my bladder effectively as there was still urine left inside. So they had to re catheterise me & said my bladder was traumatised from the delivery. The catheter has to be in 48 hours. They are discharging me today so I have to go home with a catheter! Then back to the hospital on mon to see if I can wee normally this time. I'm just praying I can as I am so upset & distressed about all of this, I can't seem to stop crying.

ClearlyMoo · 18/05/2014 10:36

Oh hi Mrs Mummy! Congrats on Jemima. Just one day older than my Baby B! You have my sympathy. I had numerous stitches under spinal block and catheter too. Thankfully I was ok when it was taken out so I was allowed home! Hope it's ok being home with catheter.

Need to send husband out to pharmacy for my reams of post natal drugs!

We had a good first night with BabyB and chilling now with sleepy baby!

For those who've not had their babies yet.. There are such things as "baby hairbrushes" apparently! Who knew?!

When baby B came out she had icky hair and the midwife washed it for her then said "do you have a hairbrush?" We were totally confused and had a) no idea such things existed and b) had no idea baby B would come out with hair!! DH has been sent to Asda to get one as Baby B has quite a lot!

MoominAndMiniMoom · 18/05/2014 13:04

My mum got one for me Clearly, I was so confused! I didn't think baby would have hair because I had no heartburn.. she came out with lovely tufts that are growing quickly!! :)

bushprincess · 18/05/2014 18:13

We'll I'm a complete dingbat, choppa had her baby last night and i even congratulated her on fb, am obviously losing my marbles!

Had no idea about baby hairbrusshes either! The things we have to learn!

ohdear no induction date yet but see the .mw on tunes so we'll make a plan then

Hugs to all

MasterFlea · 18/05/2014 18:30

Gosh MrsMummy. You have my sympathy but well done on getting through 48 hours of labour. You're a trooper! Congrats on baby Jemina Thanks
I hope Monday goes well for you at the hospital.

I am finally getting around to posting my birth story. A week it took me to get some time to do this! (i hate typing anymore than a line on the phone)

Saturday night I was feeling some period like pains so we decided to ring PIL to babysit DD1&2. They live 2.5 hours away. By about 2am, contractions started properly and PIL were just arriving. We got to hopsital after 3am and when examined I was "2 fingers" dilated. I bounced on the ball for a while then had to have a sleep. The contractions eased off while I slept but as soon as I stood up again, they were one min apart. started to want to push so called the MW. They took me to the delivery room and I was 9cm. Babyflea started crying as soon as his head was out at 6am. I'd forgotten how sore the crowning is. 3 stitches which hurt more than the birthing. I was very happy with how it all went. I never gave them my birth plan after all but the staff did everything I asked and even what I didn't ask, like minimal examinations and spoke English.

That is the last of the babies. I never want to experience pregnancy again.

Oh My Goodness! So many Babies!

Huge Congrats everyone who's had their baby since I last congratulated - I'm getting so confused between facebook and MN names! You are all AMAZING people and I'm also loving reading the newborn experiences on FB and the Post Natal thread - can't wait to join you!

It's my due date tomorrow!! I've ordered a baby. Today had sex, did weeding and washing, ate curry and am now painting my toenails. I'm SO ready! Please come baby please please please!

Enjoy the sunshine ladies!

xxx

mrsmummytobe · 19/05/2014 00:25

Thanks clearly & masterflea. It wasn't the birth story I imagined but it was the way my little daughter came into the world. I am still in hospital but the catheter is being taken out at 3.30pm tomorrow then they will see if I have regained control & feeling in my bladder. I am praying that I have & all will be ok.

Congrats on the other new births, some lovely stories.

Please could someone post a link to the newborn thread? X

MrsFooCough · 19/05/2014 02:41

mrsmummy I think it's linked at the bottom in the pinned post at the top of the page? If that makes any sense...

dhamm22 · 19/05/2014 02:59

randomm ranitidine is my saviour! ! I dont think I woulda made it tgis far without!!

Congrats master!!! Just love the stories.

My best friend has a month old baby and she pulled out her baby brush and I giggled.. they are so cute! I didnt know either but found one in a kit I had gotten as a gift.. im gunna put it in my hospital bag now.

Im super hormonal tonight.. I came home a little bit ago to my dog having an injured eye.. looked like he ran into something.. he cant open it and wont let me see.. and my vet wont be in till morning.. I cried.. and now I cant even look at him.. imtrying to ice it for him.. but he just looks miserable and I think my hormones are taking over making it seem a lot worse. I dont know how ill manage my human babies injurys!!! :( :(

On a good note my baby chicks lived and started hatching after the roof blew off the barn during a blizzard and mommy hen had to leave them.. I thought for sure they wouldnt make it in the incubator but gave it a shot and sure enough... watching them hatch today just got me sooo much more anxious to give birth.. its an absolut beautiful miracle!! I think my hormones got the best of me with them too haha.. baby fever

Have a good night ladies!!! Best wishes!!!! 39 w 3 d!!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 19/05/2014 07:32

Good luck for induction mrs foo !!! Xx

kally195 · 19/05/2014 08:07

Thinking of you MrsFoo

40+2 today. Going to get up soon and go out for a long walk (probably with a book, blanket and lunch - picnic by the sea!). I figure having my ankles disappear is a small price to pay for possibly encouraging labour to start.

Labour vibes to those of us still pregnant. Come on overdue babies - it is our turn for cuddles now.....

bushprincess · 19/05/2014 09:31

Thanks for the birth story masterflea so pleased you were happy with how everything went Thanks

mrsmummy good luck getting the catheter out today, hope things have improved for you down there. thinking of you!

sending speedy induction vibes in your direction foo!!

nothing to report here, which leaves me feeling a bit glum, even though I shouldn't be as there's nothing wrong, it's just a funny limbo feeling Sad

hugs to all in the same waiting boat!

Spirael · 19/05/2014 09:40

Yep, same waiting boat here, bushprincess! Awful, isn't it? Wondering every day whether this could be the day, but going to bed slightly disappointed and uncomfortably still pregnant, especially in this mini heatwave we seem to be having.

I've been very grumpy with poor DH and DD1, I'm quite glad they're at work/nursery today so I don't have to inflict my mood on them and can take it out on some more bread dough instead!

I'm also irrationally annoyed that DD1 was born early. If she'd been late last time around then I wouldn't feel overdue at 38+3! Got a MW appointment tomorrow morning that I was hoping I wouldn't be attending. Grr. Angry

Sorry, I will endeavour to stop being quite so grumpy! Feel a bit better though for letting it out. :)

Lovely birth stories so far and lots of lovely LOs arriving safely. Sympathies for the slightly ravaged ones, especially mrsmummytobe. The human body is an amazing thing and hopefully your recoveries will be quick and complete. Make sure to insist on all the care and treatment you deserve! Don't let yourself be fobbed off.

Lovely sunny day again here except I don't have any shorts to wear and it's not worth buying any now! I'm looking out at the washing line and feel I ought to be drying something, but I've run out of things to wash. Hmm

SicknSpan · 19/05/2014 09:44

Hi all. I haven't posted here in aeons, have been mainly on FB. Glad to see so many of us have graduated to the postnatal board, congratulations new mums Thanks.

bushprincess I am also waiting. 38 +3 today but torturing myself because both ds1 and ds2 were a little bit early (38+6 and 39+2 I think!) plus my midwife thinks I'll go early and so did I! Have been having strong period pains in the evenings since last Sunday (!) to the point that I actually thought I was in early labour twice. But they just taper off and leave me guessing again.

Have heard that third babies can be a bit stop start, didn't expect this though.

Dhamm the chicks sound so cute! Maternal instincts kicking in ;) Even my two boys (aged 9 and 5) are getting even more soppy over little animals at the moment, must be the baby hormones in the air!

Hope everyone has a nice day in the sunshine today (or the snow depending on which country you're in )

kally195 · 19/05/2014 09:46

bush and spirael totally with you on the limbo feeling. I am only 2 days over, but am definitely feeling that glum, impatient, "why isn't anything happening?" feeling.

I've just booked myself a manicure and pedicure for tomorrow morning. I am adopting the theory that I will make sure I have something indulgent planned for every day I go over, on the hope that it keeps me cheerful! That and having stuff booked makes me feel like I am tempting fate :)

SicknSpan · 19/05/2014 09:47

Spirael X posts! Know exactly what you mean about being cross that previous dc were early- how dare they get our hopes up!

I'm also feeling guilty about the amount of moaning and general grumpiness I can pack into one day- I'm normally very positive and upbeat but everything is such an effort at the moment. Bah humbug to it all.

randdom · 19/05/2014 16:38

My dad has come down to help in the house. He was going to put up a shelf and a mirror. He unfortunately appears to have got distracted by jet washing the garden which is very kind of him but sort of not that essential when 38 weeks pregnant and needing a shelf in the nursery..

moobaloo · 19/05/2014 19:16

ahh Randdom - he's trying to be helpful! My DP is like that. He gets easily distracted. I just waited a week and a half for some door knobs to be put in - I tried to do it myself but couldn't so had to wait!

Hugs and Labour Vibes to all waiting - it's my due date today (!) and Nada. Not even a twinge. It's hugely frustrating and I am completely in denial it could go on for two more weeks!

MW tomorrow and she said she'll do a sweep if he's fully engaged, but he was only 3/5 last week. Why can't they sweep if they're not engaged? I've read they might not engage until during the actual labour sometimes, so will I never get a sweep if that happens?

SicknSpan - I can't believe you've had pains for over a week! I've had nowt. I was saying to DP earlier that I wish I'd had something as then I'd feel like I was getting somewhere, as opposed to just nothing. I keep thinking if pains start then it could still be a week before any baby arrives and that will be so frustrating - I'm hoping to be one of those who just loses their waters in a burst and leaps firmly into established labour!! I am sooo impatient. Fingers crossed things start really moving for you asap!

Also eagerly awaiting news from MrsFoo - despite being irritated with her queue jumping and stealing my due date!!! lol hope all is going well! xxx

dhamm22 · 19/05/2014 19:31

Happy Due Date moobaloo !!!

I cant believe how many in this group are going over and/or being induced!! Thats wild!!! I hope u ladies arent jinxing me!! haha.

Wonder how ms. Foo is doin!

3 days till due date and I FINALLY realized what my BH/contractions feel and look like..haha :) I dont get much pain.. last night was the most ive ever had! I downloaded an app to count them.. that helped a lot!! But it ended up being nothin.. oh well looks like a cleaning day for me! Oh and my pooch is all better today. Woke up wide eyed and full of energy.

Oh and I think its officially done snowing!!! 21°C today!! And sunny.. its a heat wave!

Lets see some more babies ladies!!!

bushprincess · 19/05/2014 19:44

Moan alert!!

Everyone is out, should have gone for a swim while dh is at the .gym but was just feeling moapy and couldn't be bothered....now stomping around the house feeling sorry for myself, have made some bread, bounced on my ball and am BORED!

Always wanting more time to myself without work, now I've got it I'm out frustrated that baby hasn't come yet! Shouldn't moan as i should still have a week until induction so plenty of time for him to arrive....but don't feel like he's anywhere near coming!

He's been fully engaged for coming on 4 wks now, had loads of bh a few weeks ago but now nothing!

Grrrrrrrrr so frustrated! (Know that doesn't help but have to say it)

Sorry all, trying not to moan to dh and family so using you all to vent at!

Not helped by incessant calls/texts/fb messages asking for news (which is unfair as obviously it's wonderful that people are excited but just highlights lack of baby when i have to constantly say 'nothing yet'!

Sorry for moan, makes me feel better though Xxx

MoominAndMiniMoom · 19/05/2014 22:38

dhamm don't worry - a lot of us delivered early too, we aren't a cursed month Grin
