Marking my place!

Hello all... Looking forward to seeing you soon on the PN thread- I'm sending huge labour vibes to you all! ThanksThanks

bushprincess · 15/05/2014 09:39

Thanks for shiny new thread clearly!!!

Huge congratulations ditsy and bezza so exciting and quick!!!!

Good luck loopy really hope all kicks off for u today but if not that the induction goes smoothly and you get to meet little one very soon!!!

vikks sorry your feeling worried about impending induction, i second what (i think) clearly says about looking over your birth preferences and seeing what you want to avoid/meetwhat your options are, do u have a supportive .mw or someone u can talk things through with?

Another here joining the suddenly sleeping well club, quite funny but not complaining!

On a not so good note, anyone else feel like their feet have collapsed? I swear it feels like mine are splaying out with every step... can only hope it's the relaxin doing it's job and the same is happening to my pelvis as we speak!!

Another sunny day here so back to the beach i think!

Cuddled to all the maybie babies and their marvellous mummies and hugs to all of us still waiting!!

rebeccax2 · 15/05/2014 10:05

Hi All,

Just a little 39 + 2 update. Met with the NCT mummas yesterday and babies were totally gorgeous.

Have no symptoms, and I seem to have started sleeping through the night again weirdly. Like 7 hours last night. No constant weeing. Hands are feeling better from a fortnight of wearing spints, bit numb in the fore finger, but otherwise they are at least useable again. So weird, last week I felt like I couldn't do another day, and today I feel like I could go another week.

I wonder if having mum here doing the cooking and cleaning is really taking the edge off more than I thought.

Bezza I can't BELIEVE how quick that was!

Clearly I have agonising pain at the front of my bump if I walk around too much during the day. No visible signs, but it feels like muscular bruising that keeps getting banged. Naughty little mouse.

smearedinfood · 15/05/2014 10:15

40 + 3 days. I've had Braxtons for the last 3 weeks. In that perpetual state of "is this it... Oh no I don't think so"

One of friends said she had loads more Braxtons with the second but the birth was a lot more easier?

moobaloo · 15/05/2014 10:20

Wow

Congrats ditsy and bezza and good luck loopy and anyone else in labour right now!

rebecca great to hear you sounding more positive Smile hope things continue to go well!

Thanks for the new thread clearly

Labour vibes to all! Xxx

MrsFooCough · 15/05/2014 11:10

smearedinfood I'm only 37+5 but had my second sweep yesterday and I've been plagued by constant Braxton Hicks since, I can only assume that's what they are as NOTHING HAS COME OF THEM ~grumpy face~

MasterFlea · 15/05/2014 11:14

Congrats Bezza and Ditzy. Hope you are recovering well.

ClearlyMoo · 15/05/2014 11:17

Sweep attempt failed. Most painful thing ever in my life (I've clearly been lucky to avoid much pain). Apparently have high up thrush. Need treatment immediately or it's going to hurt a lot when baby comes... on top of expected levels. I'm terrified now and in bits and feel silly for genuinely having no idea I had it! MW reckons it's stayed since bout I had back in Feb after anti bios for UTI!

She says it's better to have treatment then induction than for baby to come naturally before I get it sorted.

I'm so scared and upset and confused.

Oh clearly I'm so sorry for you. Hope it gets cleared quickly, will it just be canestan combi, if so that usually works really quickly. Big hugs Xxx

bushprincess · 15/05/2014 11:23

Don't feel silly, must be pretty asymptomatic and with the various extra secretions of pg i don't suppose we'd notice.... xx

impatientlywaiting · 15/05/2014 11:35

Ah clearly I'm thinking of you. Sounds awful, but at least they know now and can get it sorted - hopefully quickly.

Congrats Bezza on your super speedy birth. I absolutely love the name Rafe.

Choppa · 15/05/2014 12:39

Awww Clearly...I'm sure it'll clear up quickly. Best that you find out now and get it treated.

Congrats to Bezza and Ditsy!!

Thinking of you loopy...hope things kick off without the need for induction.

Saw midwife this morning at 40+3. Absolutely nothing to report and I'm getting so fed up. It's really hot here today and I just feel like life is one big waiting game. We are also waiting for some news on DH new job so he is really on edge too. The constant texts and sympathy are annoying so much so that I have turned my phone off.

DS1 came at 40+3 so I'm hoping something happens soon. I'm booked for a sweep on Monday but I am so hoping that it doesn't come to that!

Come on babies!! Love to all xxx

wm3010 · 15/05/2014 13:38

Hi ladies, just checking in on you all, sending speedy and painless labour vibes to everyone. clearly don't feel silly, there is so much going on down below at the minute anyway that even if there had been symptoms you might not have noticed.

Dh has taken Marnie out for a walk, feel a bit bereft! Still, going to try to make the most of it by having a snooze.

Bezzabelle · 15/05/2014 14:37

Thanks for all congrats messages.

So birth story. Waters started trickling at 9pm, no big gush, just felt a regular dribble. Had also been having braxtons all afternoon. Called assessment unit given that I am booked in for c section next Friday and of the group b strep that I had just been told about that day. Told Me to come in and they would come up with plan. Waited for mum to come to sit with ds and got to hospital around 10 ish. Confirmed that it was my waters going and also put me in monitor which clearly showed that the 'Braxton hicks' I had been having all afternoon were actually contractions!! Coming every 5 mins or so but I wasn't in pain- just felt tight and hard. Anyway went for a wee about 11pm and suddenly in the toilet, I was doubled over in pain and intense contractions started coming with very little time in between. I begged doc for a c section quickly and she said she thinks this would still be the plan but wanted to check my cervix for progress first- did this and then told me I was fully dialated and it was very unlikely I would be having a c section!! I felt terrified as had a placenta abruption last time and was terrified it would end in a GA crash c section again. Then felt I needed to push immediately and they quickly wheeled me to labour ward. Went with body and pushed- after two pushes they said they could see head and he had hair!! Another couple of pushes and his head was out and the ln end fully arrived at 12.58!! Had a tear and needed stitched but Rafe is beautiful and so settled so far. It was a far away from my first birth as it could have been and I was on a complete high!!

He is feeding well, hardly made a whimper and is a beauty. I am full of love. The only thing is that I didn't get the full drip of anti biotics before he arrived as ripped cannula out of arm accidentally when contracting so he is being observed to check he hasn't get strep b. Hopefully can go home later. A bit sore, and after pains are bad but none of the aftermath I had before with cs- I was moving around straight after being stitched and can walk around the ward.

Good luck everyone else....keep going ladies, it'll all be worth it in the end

loopylou52 · 15/05/2014 15:52

Great story bezza! Must have been scary when it all happened so quickly though.

Sorry to hear about the thrush clearly, hope it clears up quickly. Definitely don't feel silly - as others have said, there's so much going on with our bodies at the moment that it's impossible to distinguish between any symptoms there might be.

Not much to report here - still leaking waters and have occasional pains but nothing regular yet. Torn between trying to rest more and doing all the walking/bouncing I can to get things going.

dhamm22 · 15/05/2014 19:00

Hi!

dhamm22 · 15/05/2014 19:03

It worked!!! Ive been trying to post in here.. and it wouldnt let me :(.. my name is Danielle.. I am 39 weeks today! With my first baby.. and I am sooo lost maybe u ladies can help me out!! I am on day 5 of maternity leave and bored out of my mind! And have no idea how im suppose to be feeling.. but I sum it up as... "terrible" :)

ohdearitshappeningtome · 15/05/2014 19:25

Hi Danielle and welcome!!

Is baby blue pink or yellow? How are you feeling?

Spirael · 15/05/2014 19:55

Don't panic, ClearlyMoo! They've caught it and will treat it. Thrush clears up pretty fast with treatment, so I'm sure it'll all be fine. :)

Symptom spotting here... I think I had a little bit of a show earlier (TMI, but what I can only describe as 'snot') and after being fine for months my breasts have suddenly become very tender, like they were at the beginning of pregnancy.

Hopefully means my body is gearing up to get things going! More likely I'll still be pregnant for weeks yet.

dhamm22 · 15/05/2014 20:10
