Happy weekend everyone - hope you all enjoy the sunshine xx

Congrats Loopy! Wishing you a good recovery.

Spirael · 17/05/2014 08:51

Congratulations, Loopy! :) Might not have been exactly the birth you were planning, but the main thing is the safe arrival of your LO and I'm glad it sounds like things weren't too traumatic for you. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

Another grumpy morning here. Was having loads of BH last night, getting increasingly stronger and closer together. I was having them regularly every five minutes and lasting for thirty seconds, on the border between uncomfortable and painful.

I took paracetamol and tried changed positions and they continued. DH half filled the birthing pool in preparation, then we decided to get some rest while it was still possible, fairly sure things would kick off stronger over the coming hours. And, of course, at that moment everything stopped. Angry

Then not-so-DD1 decided that 5:20am was wake up time this morning and nothing would dissuade her otherwise. DH got up with her for the first couple of hours and now I'm listening to her whine incessantly watching her while he catches up on sleep a bit. Net result, we're both tired and fed up while she is hyperactive in the sunshine.

It's one of those days where I wish we had family nearby to offload her on! Unfortunately, we don't have anyone.

sambababy · 17/05/2014 15:04

Yay well done Loopy! I love his name. Hope you have a good support network to help you while you recover so you can concentration newborn cuddles. How was his weight after all? x

It's all gone quiet on here. Lots of babies coming me think Grin

dhamm22 · 17/05/2014 15:51

Spirael · 17/05/2014 15:52

No baby appearing here! Just a bit of regret about walking to, around and from the carnival. I ache everywhere-!! On the plus side, there's a big pool in my kitchen that is currently filling so I can have a nice wallow in the water shortly. :)

bushprincess · 17/05/2014 16:20

Congratulations loopy and welcome to the world oliver!!!

am v. jealous that my Due date buddy choppa is in labour and I'm not... hmph!! But so excited about hearing of your little ones arrival!! Go Choppa!!

sorry things didn't come to anythign spirael, it'll happen soon!! enjoy your wallow!!

Didn't congratulate you before moomin on finishing 2nd year - what a great achievement!! so happy for you and hope your'll find a way to make completing the degree achievable alongside little callie!

DH has gone to the rugby but I decided to stay home and enjoy some time in the sun... however suddenly got embroiled in my tax return!! (I'm usually late and get fined so this is super organised for me!!)... think it's ready to submit now so will leave it be and go out in the garden.

Is this my equivalent of nesting??! lets hope so!

sunny saturday wishes to all!

randdom · 17/05/2014 18:11

I have been having on and off period cramps for the last 24 hours. However I strongly suspect that it is not going to come to anything any time soon and this actually means that I will probably just have intermittent pain for the next few weeks!

ClearlyMoo · 17/05/2014 18:15

Evenin' all! Well I've only gone and done it! Baby B arrived at 1.12am today. We are over the moon.

Ctx started 1am Friday morning, at 9am went in to birth centre got examined (thrush treatment had worked and I could manage it) but sent home as not contracting regularly enough. By 7.30pm ctx still not regular but I was struggling to cope with them with paracetemol, tens and hugging DH. So we went in but birth centre closed to new patients due to being maxed out so I went to delivery suite instead. Lucky I did as had high BP, ketones in urine and later discovered baby B was sitting in Meconium in my waters. When I got in to hospital I was 7cm, hence why I wasn't coping with contractions anymore! Gas and air to the rescue. Then pethedine when I was desperate to push on every CTX. Pushed her out on gas and air with some very last minute pethidine. Unfortunately she was 9lb 6oz and gave me third degree tear so I went into theatre with a spinal block immediately so couldn't BF straight away.

Doing ok today. She's had a good feed and I should be allowed home from hospital tonight.

Over the moon she is so beautiful. I'm pretty sore tho!

Congrats to Loopy too!

YAY clearly congratulations!!! Flowers

I have to vent here sorry, can't do it on Twitter or FaceyB as family are on there...
StepFiL has been rather awful today. We have a little dog, as you all know, and she's rather affectionate and bouncy. He kept on and on saying how she should be in a kennel in the garden and how dogs are a waste of food and shouldn't be allowed. That's an opinion he's entitled to have, but isn't it a tad obnoxious to voice it in a house full of people who a) own the dog in question and b) clearly adore said dog?
As if that wasn't enough, he then went on to watch the news and when an item about Boko Haram came on he declared that "the blacks haven't got a clue how to run a country...we used to rule over them and we gave them democracy, and now look what they've done...when Rhodesia kicked out the whites the whole country went to hell in a hand basket...blah blah racist blah".
I cannot actually stand this man a minute longer. He's leaving tomorrow, MiL is staying for a week (not the fortnight we thought, apparently - according to DH - "something happened in the car" that's made her cut her planned stay short...it's her first bloody grandchild FFS, he should be letting her spend as much time with him/her as she can), but yeah he's off tomorrow at about 10. Tempted to just feign sickness and stay in bed until he's bloody well gone home.

Ugh. Thank you, rant over. Maybe now I'll sleep?!

dhamm22 · 18/05/2014 05:37

mrsfoo you crack me up! My boyfriend and I are not married but I will call his mom MIL to make it easier... but we have our differences as well... and she lives only 15 minutes away from me.. so I cant ship her off or cut her visit short! So be grateful for him being able to leave haha. I have no escape! !! The FiL on the other hand is the one I can tolerate!! Hes quiet and doesnt judge... she judges me.. is better than me... and will do anythingto protect her baby boy! Oh and they are extremely religious and shy.. so my potty mouth and being unwed and pregnant with him is unacceptable :) oooops!

random how far along are u again?? Thats all I ever have is those period like cramps.. this is my first so I never know if thats BH or something or not.. ive had them since about 32 weeks! And now they are getting worst... I think im starting to tell when I have contractions or prob BH.. its painful but not bad... but still unsure.. my stomach gets super hard up high but I always think its baby pushing up and outward... lol? Its just uncomfortable. I guess ill know when its real they tell me :) I hope yours are more than mine!

Cant sleep tonight... dogs are super cuddly and making my room extremely hot and uncomfy..if I tell them to get out they give me severe looks of sadness and concern.. so I cant boot them. My RLS is pretty bad.. and my heartburn is just getting to the point of *shoot me plz. :) I spose I slept pretty hard for 2 nts in a row.. shoulda seen this comin! Thanks for listenin' haha

*goodnight and hopin for more babies tmr!!! Its very exciting seeing all u girls with such joy! Im ready for my turn! (Not to sound selfish.. but yah!)

bushprincess · 18/05/2014 08:28

Poor you foo having to out up with such a git, so glad he's leaving today!

Off for a swim, 40+6..... getting impatient here!!

Unless I've missed something on fb i think choppy is still in labour. Thinking of her and anyone else who is currently on the home stretch!

Xx

bushprincess · 18/05/2014 08:29

Damn autocorrect, choppa!!

randdom · 18/05/2014 08:51

Dhamm am only 38+2 so not really expecting anything yet.

In exciting news I have been having a rubbish time with heart burn waking up multiple times a night with severe pain and downing gaviscon to no avail. I had eventually resorted to sleeping upright which helped a bit. Then yesterday I found out you can get low dose ranitidine over the counter ... It is amazing I have had next to know problems since!!
