That's fantastic news, trinity, really pleased for you. The thread title was prophetic Wink

Loubie37 · 13/06/2006 16:56

Fab news TR, I'm so pleased for you!!

I had my booking in appointment today which went well...apart from she couldn't find a vein to take my blood from so we had to go wait in the Path Lab instead which was so busy we were sat there nearly an hour Envy

We then went into town to do a bit of shopping and pick up my bounty pack...what a disappointment!! All there was in it was a nappy, a small pack of wipes and 2 samples of simple baby products! And half a dozen adverts for various stuff. Nothing at all like the picture of the bounty pack in the bounty mag! Oh well, there's always the ones I'll get when baby arrives to look forward to, I love freebies :o

I've got another scan tomorrow, fingers crossed all will be well. The bleeding seems to have settled down again now (I should be used to it by now!) and I've been feeling very sick and dizzy today - I had to sit down in Sainsbury's while DH finished the shopping Blush

Anyway, I hope everyone else is starting to bloom, catch you all later :)

Loubie xx

Fantastic news trinityrhino, so glad the scary bit is over for you. I thought I would always worry more after my scare but I've found that since I saw the heartbeat, I feel pretty calm about it all again. Hope you and the others who have had scares find the same.

Thinking of the rest of you who are waiting for reassurance and have my fingers fingers crossed for you.

trinityrhino · 13/06/2006 17:08

Glad all went ok TR - sorry didn't wish you good luck but been away for a long week end to see my dad in Inverness which is about 400 miles away from me so the journey was a joy with ds!! Glad all went well!! On the way back we got stuck in traffic for 4 hours while they closed the M6 because a truck had gone over. We were just an hour from home and had to just sit there and try to keep ds occupied. Great fun. It took us 11 hours to get home and we all got back and pretty much went straight to bed! Boo to the M6!

Thanks jess and flibberty for the comments on migraines. Flibberty - when I was pregnant last time (ds is now 10.5 months) the doc told me that there was nothing I could take for the migrains. He said that all the "migrain tablets" carry too high a risk and that even paracetamol could increase the risk of asthma if taken in the first trimester. Maybe I should go back and ask again?! Guess the prob is that all these gps have their own opinions about what is ok. Last time a friend was told that it was ok to take paracetamol and was prescribed some for stomach pains. Hard to know what to do really isn't it?

This may sound weird but I think that maybe the folic acid tablets I am taking are the thing making me so sick. I forgot to take them sat and sun and felt really good all weekend. Then when I took them again on mon felt really sick. Similar thing happened last time but just assumed it was a coincidence. What does every one think? Am I going crazy!!! (very possible!!)

Huggs to loubie and all those still having probs with bleeding XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

trinityrhino · 13/06/2006 18:02

welcome back dragon Smile

Dragonhart · 13/06/2006 18:09

Cheers trinity. Its really nice when someone answers stright away!! xx

Loubie forget to say - could you let me know what you think of the zafira. We are trying to decide which people carrier to get and just cant make up our minds! Also about the pics you were talking about - def with you on that one. Hadn't thought of putting it up as a screen saver (might steal that idea) but have been looking. Also have a book that gives you a decription of what you are like, what the baby is doing/growing and a pic of it for each week. Read it religiously last time and doing the same so far!! xx

2Happy · 13/06/2006 18:32

Oh Dragon no, you're totally not alone about the folic acid! I thought it all the way through ds's first trimester and I've been thinking the same this time too. I try taking it at different times of the day, but since I feel sick most of every day I just can't decide if it's the folic acid or not. I know last time I kept feeling sick to 16 weeks, so it wasn't just the folic acid, but I also think it was less bad after 12 weeks. I don't know, I sometimes think I'm imagining it too! Still going to keep taking it though, can't be much longer on it. My mw is back the week after next, so hope to get booking done then, and then referred for dating scan.

2Happy · 13/06/2006 18:40

Oh and what is it with these wretched hormones? Cried myself silly over the railway children! ShockBlush

skerriesmum · 13/06/2006 18:44

Hey all,
Anyone else getting too fat for regular clothes but can't face pulling out the maternity stuff?! My first real appt is Thursday, I'll meet the GP who will deliver baby.
Other than that my allergies are bugging me, but can't take anything...

Loubie37 · 13/06/2006 19:08

Dragonhart no probs, I'll let you know as soon as it arrives :) Although we're a bit peeved with the garage - they were supposed to ring us today with a delivery date but haven't done, it feels like now they've got their order (and the promise of a lot of money out of us!) that we don't matter anymore!

skerriesmum I've had to go out today and buy some bigger trousers! I didn't want to buy maternity ones so I've just got some 2 sizes bigger with elasticated back and drawstring front so they should grow nicely with me :o They're cut off linen ones and sooooo comfy :)

I've booked my nuchal scan this evening so I'm really excited about that (it doesn't take much!) I'm having my NHS one on 6/7 and my nuchal one on 17/7. It's costing us £175 but because of my age (I'm 38) we think it's well worth it, especially as they'll be doing blood tests too and combining the results for greater accuracy. I feel a bit greedy though....I've had 3 scans already and have another one in the morning as well as the 2 that I've booked today, that will be 6 by the time I'm 13 weeks :o

Anyway, gotta go, really tired and my hayfever is really bad today. The midwife who booked me in said I can use Piriton but I don't know....I think I'd rather suffer than do anything remotely risky

Loubie xx

LadyTophamHatt · 13/06/2006 19:14

Folic acid makes me feel sick.
I noticed when I was PG with ds1 and it's done the same thing with each pregnancy.

Awful bloody stuff!

Try taking it just before you go to bed, then you sleep through the sick feeling.

jessddibs · 13/06/2006 19:21

Hi dragon and every other hormonal, sicky, tierd, fat pregnant person!

I am with u dragon with the folic acid thing, my sickness is definatley worse when I take it and feel really naughty cause i havn't taken it for the last 4 days...but I got to the point that i was having my morning shower with dd and was heaving my guts up almost all over her! So have decided to give myself a break..

Also, my GP is positive that paracetamol is safe, but not taken to regulary, and that all other painkillers are either dangerous or not yet proven to be safe, so are taken at your own risk..

Excellent news trinity!!!! Whens your due date?? you must be really pleased, I am so happy for you.x.

Any BB fans out there?? Please vote grace out! and keep nikki in! She cracks me up! and Grace is so far up herself I think she needs a reality check and obviously reminding on how two faced she is and how much she slagged everyone off!

And come on England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spk soonxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dragonhart · 13/06/2006 20:12

Glad its not just me about the folic acid then!

Hadn't thought of taking it before bed LTH but will try that tommorrow cheers.

lizziemun · 13/06/2006 20:28

can anyone put my mind at rest fairly new to this. as per pervious post dr thinks 8 to 10 weeks. midwife phoned today for booking in appiontment she thinks i'm about 7 weeks i mention that i had been bleeding on and of the last few weeks did pg test this still positive (5th test since last wed) she has booked me in for a early scan tommorrow.

so my question is what does this entail. do i need to drink lots of water like with the normal one at 13 weeks

thanks
