Sending (((((hugs))))) MOM.

I thought the same about this thread. Have to admit that dh has nearly banned me from this thread! Grin Dont know if this is just normal or maybe an unlucky thread!!

LadyTophamHatt · 20/06/2006 20:29

I'm still hereSmile

Thanks for thinking of me girls, I've been off the PC because Dh is being an arse about me being on the here. You'll be amazed to here that my lovely DH seems to have problem with me relaxing and not doing housework 24/7.
He's driving me mad and I feel like killing him TBH.

So like a mug I've been trying to keep the peace by doing housework that doesn't need doing because...well...actually my house isn't a shit hole...It just Dh seems to think it is.
Wanker!

Everything ok apart from my increasing dislike to my husband and such overwhelming tiredness.
I've read a few of your post saying that you're not feeling so tired now whereas mine has really hit me like sack of spuds.
Ha...it's probably all the pointless housework I'm f*cking doingAngry

Glad the scan went well Nemo.
I think it's lovely that you're still with us on here MoM so please stay.

Hi everyone. Is there room on this thread for a new one?! :)

I'm 10 weeks today and since hiring a doppler and finding a heartbeat yesterday, I feel slightly less paranoid about this pregnancy. I've had a read through the many messages on here and must say on the whole they've put my mind at rest as others seem to be experiencing the same worries as me.

Quick intro - I'm Kerry, 32, and I live in Bucks with my dh and our 2 ds's, one is 5 in August and the other is almost 15 months.

This pregnancy wasn't planned but I've come to terms with it now, although still rather worried about coping with 3 (we're in a 2 bedroomed house for starters!).

Anyway, hope to get to know you all better over the coming months xx

Dragonhart · 20/06/2006 21:31

Most definatly room for you Kerry. Welcome!! Grin

LTH - is dh unable to lift a finger to do house work!! Def use the pregnancy card I would say!!

LadyTophamHatt · 20/06/2006 21:39

Definatley room for onw more kerrySmile

Dargonhart, Dh does do housework but because he's "out at work 9 hours aday" it mostly my job, which is fair enough, I just hate his attitude to it.
It's always me who gets up with ds3 at the crack of dawn....or in then night when one of the calls out even if DH is off work.

Oh and don't ask me about if DH is ill and stays in bed until 5pm with a sore throut but when I have 2 wisdom teeth out in hospital and am sobbing in pain he'll still go to work leaving me to cook and sort the kids out.
Just don't ask about that...ok???

He's like a man from the 1930's half the time.

Excellent news Nemo! What a relief for you.x.

Welcome Kerry Theres definatley room to join us! Although we do seem to be a bunch of moaners and worriers! We should be improving when we reach the second trimester....!

Ladytophat- I am with you on the whole attitude thing. Its not that I mind housework (although I relly hate picking up dh's 'mess' have enough of that with dd) it's when he says " lady of lesiure are we"? No I am bloody well not! I work 2 days, I look after dd before/after school, cook, clean, do reading/homework, bedtime run, shopping all while feeling totally shattered and sick! Plus I can't relax with a nice big glass of ice cold wine at the end of each day! AND forget my social life! Where as yours still bloody well exsists every friday night!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I feel better now! LOL! Also, men are a flipping nightmare when they are ill and do completley think we are superwomen or just exagerating our symptoms and are not that ruff.....but we have to nurse them like babies if they have a cold

Blimey! I didn't realise I was so hormonal this morning!!

At least it's not so hot at the mo and I with the others whose tiedness is now beginning to where off, am starting to feel a little human again!

Hope everyone is well.x.

Welocome kerry I think I can just squeeze you in even with the size of my rapidly growing bump . Well I thought I best get posting because im at work tomorrow and friday and then monday we are off to gran canaria for 2 weeks so I thought I may not get on again because iv got loads of ironing and washing to do . My scan is on friday so im looking forward to that it will seem alot more real then as iv not had much time to think about it latley. I still feel sick alot of the time in the mornings I cant stand the smell of washing powder it makes me heave so does my ds nappy when he has done a number 2 !!! Well ladies I shall be back on in a few weeks good luck to you all and look after your bumps.

flibertygibbet · 21/06/2006 12:56

So much for being the thread where we stop worrying!

I had another bleed this morning and midwife & GP have put me on complete rest. I've got a sicknote for a week and no clue what to do with myself. The earliest they can scan me is Friday morning

Welcome Kerry, there's always room for more! (I'm not always this miserable!)

trinityrhino · 21/06/2006 13:03

oh fliberty, so sorry to hear that you're now worrying for you

hi kerry, welcome, I'm in the same sort of position as you, I'm 28, have 2 dd's, One's 6 and the other is nearly 15 months, we also didnt totally plan this one and I am terrified about coping with 3.......anyway ramble ramble

welcome

flibertygibbet · 21/06/2006 13:08

Thanks Trinity. I thought we were all getting past the scary stuff and I think I'm in shock now it's started again.

Hope everyone else is OK.

DebbsyandBibby · 21/06/2006 14:08

hi fliberty jus wanted to bob in to tell you my friend was the same as you on complete bed rest and had to wait over a week for scan hes just coming up to 2 now ((((hugs)))))

trinityrhino · 21/06/2006 14:26

OK, is this indigestion???

It hurts a bit in my stomach and feels bubbly and swirly and uncomfortable and I'm burping and feeling more sicky when it;s hurting and swirly

Is it indigestion and what can I take???????

jessddibs · 21/06/2006 14:39

I am no doctor trinity...but at a guess due to experience, I would say that it's more like heartburn( which is very much alike) Indigestion is like a tight/sharp pain in the chest where as heart burn is similar but you burp alot and feel sick. Diet can play a factor in causing it but it's very common in pregnancy. I always found Gaviscon very good and safe to take. If in doubt check with the GP or pharmasist.x.

coffeebeanz · 21/06/2006 14:46

Hi Everyone,

Glad to see we've got a few new names and all the originals are still here

Just returned from my booking in appointment (10 +3) and guess what ...I actually heard the heart beat! It all seems so real now I'm starting to relax a bit more.

Midwife thought I might be more than 10 weeks as I have a very palpable uterus (whatever that means)and the heartbeat was v strong and easy to find. Could be due to the fact that I am quite slim but who knows ??? Will have to wait for the dating scan in 2 weeks time to know for sure.

Lots of hugs to everyone who feels ropey !

flibertygibbet · 21/06/2006 14:51

Thanks DebbsyandBibby, that helps

trinityrhino · 21/06/2006 17:51

gaviscon tablets are wonderful

Dragonhart · 21/06/2006 20:11

Jess and LTH - Think all dh are the same! When I had my last ds, I had been at home for ages feeling contractions getting gradually worse but only told dh when they got really bad as he had work and didn't want to worry him if it was a false alarm. It all got too much so drove to hospital and the midwife (who was convinced I was a total woose and said that I would prob need an epidural when I said I wanted to try without) checked to see how dilated I was and asked my if I had a high pain threshold. My dh piped up quick as a flash and said no she has a really low one! Then the midwife told him that I was 8-9cm dilated. But the fact that I had lasted that long at home was not due to me being good with pain, apparently but because it was quick! He told everyone afterwards who asked me if the labour had been ok that it was relly easy and quick! They dont have a clue.

By the way he has a sore neck at the mo which means I am told about it every 1/2 hour. It is so sore that he has just gone to the driving range with my brother! MEN!!!

Flibberty - (((Hugs))) Know it must be really worrying but try take the oportunity to have a good rest and enjoy some daytime telly!!

LadyTophamHatt · 21/06/2006 20:18

Dragonhart, My Dh said he knew I'd have an epidural with ds1 because I have a low pain threshhold.

Proved him bloody wrong when Ds2 was delivered at home by paramedics.

and then again when ds3 was born at home.

Both without even a sniff of gas and air.

OP posts:
Dragonhart · 21/06/2006 20:26

Very impressive LTH! Bet he still doesn't really think that you have a high pain threashold though does he. Theres no convincing them!! Sure they dont really think that labour is that painful. Shame there is no simulation to show them!!

LadyTophamHatt · 21/06/2006 20:38

I would love to have teh ability to transfer just one full blown contraction onto a man.

You know the ones just before you're getting to the pushing stage(IME the pushing bit was easiest, I know it's not the same for everyone)...where it takes every bit of to almost stay conscious because it's sooooo painful.

Just one of those....onto any man.

God, I'd love to be able to do that.

LadyTophamHatt · 21/06/2006 20:39

"takes every bit of YOU to stay consiocus"

KerryJ · 21/06/2006 21:16

Thanks all for the warm welcome

Fliberty - sorry to hear about your bleeding. Anything bed related sounds heavenly to me at the moment (provided it involves laying prone for long periods of time with my eyes closed!!) but I'm sure if I was actually prescribed bed rest I'd find it a nightmare. Hope the time goes quickly for you!

TrinityRhino - it's so nice and reassuring to hear of others in a similar position. We can go slowly insane together, in a few months time.

Who here is having a homebirth this time round? I had one with ds2 and it was brilliant - we hired a Gentlewater birth pool and despite only being it in 8 minutes (a very fast second stage !) it was worth every penny. LTH, sounds as though you're an old hand, so I guess you'll be doing it again with this one?

Feeling big, bloated and ugly today. Hate this stage of not really looking pregnant but feeling huge. I work 2 days a week and want to wait until after the scan to start letting the news trickle out, but I'm sure people are probably guessing. Ho hum, let them speculate...only another 2 and a bit weeks til the scan (10th July, when I'll be 12+6).

KerryJ · 21/06/2006 21:19

Oooo and LTH, abso-bloody-lutely about the man being able to experience a contraction. My dh, bless him, kept saying to me "are you having another one" during my labour with ds2, and it was driving me insane. No, I'm rocking around and looking pained because I've stubbed my toe, you muppet . To be honest, if I was braver (and just a little bit more insane), I'd disappear into the woods and give birth, just so I could be alone and left to get on with it in peace!

LadyTophamHatt · 22/06/2006 07:27

Morning Kerry, Yes I'm having another homebirth this time too. Have to admit I am nervous about it though. Ds2 was an unplanned home birth so I had no choice and I changed to a homebirth at 36 weeks with ds3 so didn't have long to worry about it.
Both were fast labours, not super fast but fast enough to cope with it IYKWIM. If this one is going to be long and drawn out I want to be in hospital with drugs!!

I have a high pain threshold but I'm not stupid. I'm not going to be in agony for hours if I don't need to be

Oh and you comment about going into the woods sounds FAB. With ds2 I was alone because DH has gone to get my mum who lived just over a hour away. The Labour was just short of 4 hours so for most of the really hard work I was alone(well expect 2yr old ds1!!!) and it was lovely doing it without people fussing and faffing around me.
I hate to be fussed and faffed over generally so in labour I hate it 1,000,000 times more.

(Dh missed the birth by about 1 minutes btw, he was running up the stairs just as Ds2 was born)
