This had better be the last antenatal thread for us all, so come on girls, get pushing!

I'm still here
Jas, that position (on last thread) is TERRIBLE in terms of making your belly feel heavy! Jesus! Dh asked if it would work psychologically for him to just stay up alone and watch the 10 min freeview on Red Hot... hmmm.

On the plus side, a friend offered to take me shopping by car this afternoon, which was a real luxury, esp as ds stayed with dh, so I didn't have to think about anything! But all I bought was some baby bits for another friend, and dh texted me to buy hoover bags! Even with clothes in Primark at £3, I couldn't take the chance of guessing what size I'll end up after this!

Thanks, Tabs. You are a star.

Ixel - I have to admit I haven't tried that position recently
It's nice to get out shopping, even if you don't buy anything. I have very fond memories of a shopping trip in Oxford Street when DD2 was tiny (think double buggy on the underground a few weeks before Christmas!) I bought a potato peeler. Nothing elseBut I had a great day!

Flame - my logic goes the opposite way to yours, I'm going to bed on the theory that I am more likely to wake up in labour. Maybe if I stay up , it'll never happen.

pmsl @ the last message on the other thread - Just "someone" have a baby... we seem to be at the stage of just needing any one of us to go into labour, don't care who, just so that we can believe that they will come out one day!!!

Well... just checking in before bed.

I have eaten as much of the pineapple as I could face. I've painted my finger and toenails (thought maybe bending over my toes would just sorta pop it out ). I've taken the milk of magnesia. If nothing else, the MOM will counteract the heartburn from the pineapple , and I'll have a very clear system by the end of tomorrow!!!!

Jas - I think my not sleeping theory is based on that I have woken up still pregnant a hell of a lot more times than I have in labour .

Hopefully we can try for the 5am chat tomorrow/tonight....

Night night all

(ooh, it feels good to be at the top of the "due soon" list!!!)

xxxx

Jasnem · 19/02/2006 02:55

Not in labour...DP is snoring.
I did my toenails yesterday -didn't help!

I'm struggling to reach my toenails, so haven't even tried to paint recently, have been getting dh to do instead

Flame, sorry didn't realise I was supposed to be prediciting you! how's about Thursday night??, then you'll be slap on your due date did the MOM work???

Helen your quiet, have you not found us, or have you got a baby???

Jas and Ixel {{{Hugs}}} come on babies let's be having you out now!!

Thell any news??

Hi to anyone else out there!

Flamesparrow · 19/02/2006 12:44

Noooo - its the due date we're trying to avoid!! My sister's birthday, and my goddaughter's birthday then, and since DD already has her birthday the day before my godson (and my step sister is due only 10 days before DD's birthday), I feel like I want this child to have a birthday all to itself (Another reason for me being so desperate to have this baby out!)

I'm also not in labour

Baby went seriously nuts and hyper in the night, and just spend hours bouncing and squirming - it hurt sooo much, I kept thinking my waters were going to pop with it, but nothing, and I just ended up exhausted because I couldn't sleep through it. Finally got to sleep about 3.30am, DD woke up at 4am for a quick yell and just be generally awkward (got in our bed for about 10 mins, didn't shut up, then went back to bed)... that woke the baby up again, and it was about 5 before I finally got back to sleep. Luckily DH is in very very caring mood (think he's scared of making me cry ), so I got to sleep lots this morning, and probably will again this afternoon for a while.

The milk of magnesia counteracted the heartburn, but thats about it.

Helen is being suspiciously quiet....

Twiga · 19/02/2006 13:00

hi again, just nipping in to let you know that Popadopolis has been labouring in earnest since very late last night/early hours this morning (11 days overdue). Contractions still just under 10 mins apart and hospital have said come in for check but will prob send home to wait bit longer - she's determined to eat the sunday roast her mil has cooked for her and dh ! So hopefully there'll be a new arrival today, will keep you posted.....

all the best to those of you still waiting and big congrats to those whose wee ones have arrived already - noticed there was a Valentine birthday which is lovely (I'm biased coz that's mine too)

Flamesparrow · 19/02/2006 13:05

Oooh thankyou!!! Send her our love, and tell her that a birth will restore our faith in pregnancy

Frizbetheexpansionset · 19/02/2006 13:51

Thanks Twiga, nice to know its happening for someone, come on popadop!!

Flame, sorry the MOM didn't work, and that you've had a rubbish nights sleep......ok how's about Tuesday anytime for a date, I've already had two requests for this day birthing partner wants to get out of boring lecture! and is acutally another friends birthday, so she's saying she'll be able to remember it if co-incides!!

Did I mention had a funny turn last night after drinking two cups of RLT in a row! went all dizzy and flushed, ahem! won't be doing that again then.....

Helen where are you??

Jasnem · 19/02/2006 14:34

Good for Popadopolis - hope things speed up a bit for you soon...give her our love Twiga.

Still no Helen - busy having her baby, or out having a life, I wonder????

I've cleaned, hoovered, shopped and achieved nothing except to make myself more tired!

Tuesday would be good for me, too. Tomorrow would be better, though. Ixel's c section is booked for Tues isn't it, so we should have at least one then.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 19/02/2006 17:57

Yup, I'll accept Tuesday as a final date too (wouldn't turn down earlier either ).

I've spent the day doing not a lot, with DH making me many cups of tea ... he seems scared to wake the beast pregnant lady!!!

DD has discovered Wallace and Gromit! She has been getting excited by the adverts for Wererabbit all week, and UK Gold showed close shave and the penguin one this afternoon... complete silence!! Not even questioning me about what was happening . We'd been wanting to get her "something" from the baby, but half the family seem to be buying her toys (she's gonna be bloody spoilt!), so DH has said we'll get her Wererabbit.

Still heavy, the odd tightening/pains but nothing decent. Given up taking them as a good sign

Frizbetheexpansionset · 19/02/2006 18:56

Nah flame don't give up on those pains they are a good sign, I've been getting a few myself this afternoon, but haven't dared mention to dh, as he'll go into panic overdrive again
Right so that's set then ladies, all babies out by Tuesday eh!

ixel · 19/02/2006 19:34

Just because my section is booked for Tuesday doesn't mean its coming then. I have such visions of a 48 hour delay while the emergency ones take priority

All my big shopping trip did yesterday was cause me to be very sick last night... then I looked into the loo, saw blood, really panicked, and found out it was coming from gums and a nosebleed simultaneously! Yuck. But not a sign of labour.

ixel · 19/02/2006 19:35

Flame... ds saw the picture on the side of a bus the other day... "oh my god, its a funny doggie and a funny man"

Thell · 19/02/2006 19:47

Don't worry, I'm still here!!
Bit more of a show this morning I think - it was less discernible from general heavy discharge, but I'm happy to believe that's what it was!!
Woke up again feeling a bit uterusy, but nothing as positive as what Flame describes.
Had a busy weekend - had PIL over for dinner last night, then a couple of friends over for lunch. It was lovely to be having an active social life, but I'm a sucker and can't resist doing the whole bit, setting the table nicely, buying dessert and making coffee etc (used to make dessert too, but that is completely out of the question these days!) So have been very tired.
On the plus side, our social calendar is now pretty empty, bar my tea and cake appointment with the NCT girls, so beanie can definitely come now {grin]
(Are You Listening Down There??!!)

Ixel, I really hope your babe comes tomorrow {fingers tightly crossed}. I don't mind waiting til Tuesday too if it means you get to have yours first

I have my suspicions about Helen too. Unless her boys have kept her busy this wkend.

I've just glanced through the dates on the stats, and the natural births are roughly evenly distributed between early and late babes, so at least one of us should be due to pop this week!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 19/02/2006 20:02

Ixel, you will be Tue

Thell, excellent stuff, things are defo going in the right direction for you

I just know I'm gona be the last one on here ya know......

Thell · 19/02/2006 20:16

No chance Ixel.
I've just noticed that I am the last Febber who is having baby #1, so I'm the most likely to be overdue.
Pants!

Thell · 19/02/2006 20:18

Sorry - meant 'no chance Frizbe' !
Ixel, I am keeping everything crossed that you will beat the surgeons to it

4blue1pink · 19/02/2006 20:49

Hi girls - i have moved out of my house and Jordan no sorry Lola ferrari has moved in much to my childrens mirth!

Hope you are all chilled - enjoy the calm before the storm!

Good thread title ..wonder if Soupy approves ! (ducks for cover)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 19/02/2006 21:06

lol 4b1p

Thell, how can you say that, you've had a show honey, that means things are on the way!!! you may be technically last on the list, but I doubt it somehow if its any help my last was 5 days over, so I'm sure to be in march....pah!

Twiga · 19/02/2006 21:13

still waiting for news, went into hosital just after 3pm, hope it will be tonight/early morning as her mum is down visiting and goes home in the afternoon i think. Will keep you posted and will pass on your best wishes...

Jasnem · 19/02/2006 21:19

4b1p

I went to bed at 7, but am up again now, feeling odd. Probably nothing (again) though!

Thell/Frizbe - there is still a real possibility that you could both have yours this week, and leave me to make up the overdue numbers. A show is better than nothing, even if it doesnt mean instant delivery.
