We have just found out we're expecting baby no 2 in Jan 2012 - how excited? I cannot tell you.

Right now though, I'm bogged down with thoughts at how it could all go wrong instead of enjoying...

We have been trying for over 2 years...so this is a much desired little bubba!!

Hi guys, hope you don't mind me joining? We had our 12 week scan yesterday. Absolutely amazing! Baby was jumping around all over the place and kept mooning us! Can't believe that's going on inside me and I can't feel a thing. I'm due 23.1.13. Hope everyone is keeping well. X

Complicated24 · 13/07/2012 19:26

Gemdrop, your lovely message brought tears to my eyes. Hope you are really enjoying pregnancy too. The first 3 months are so scary after miscarriages aren't they. I am not feeling sick any more and feeling far less tired so life if pretty good.

EmiliaM: What's the nub theory?
Good luck everyone. Anyone got a bump yet? I haven't and can't wait to have one. Am now 14.5 weeks.

Bunny222 · 13/07/2012 19:45

Hi ladies. Haven't been on for a while as have been feeling so crap and icky. We had a 12week scan yesterday and all seems well. Had been so anxious I did end up having a cry. Am now due 22nd Jan.
Is everyone starting to feel better after the 12week stage? Hope you're all doing well. X

gemdrop84 · 13/07/2012 20:09

Complicated yes indeed, big hugs to you, the last 6-7wks have been so stressful and very scary. I feel as though I've stopped myself getting excited and happy-I can now finally get excited and enjoy the pg! My tummy has expanded and I'm developing a small bump under my tummy so it's all good! 13+1 and counting....bunny222 congrats on the scan, I'm feeling less tired and generally feeling better.

EmiliaM · 14/07/2012 09:48

Hi everyone :)

Gemdrop84 and Complicated24 Nub theory apparently helps to predict the sex of your baby by just looking at the photo from 12 week scan, dont know how acurate it is. You can read a bit more about it here, dont read if you dont want to find out : www.parentdish.co.uk/2009/06/03/nub-theory-baby-gender-prediction-at-12-weeks/

Bunny222 I dont feel as tired as before but still getting sickness from time to time.

I do have a bump, especially after having a big dinner.. ;) Only have 1 pair of trousers that still feel comfy, also bought my first pair of mat jeans. But apparently you start showing a lot quicker with your second pregnancy.

Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread?!

I'm due Jan 9th with DC 2. DD was 3 in May & is keen for a baby sister to be named Morrisons, I don't think she'll get the final say!!!

I'm convinced it's a Boy & after reading about the nub test, I'm more convinced!!

It great to read all the posts on here!

EmiliaM · 16/07/2012 08:48

Hi.

Vickyliz Morrisons you say.Ha ha :) My DS, also 3yrs old came out with Power Ranger Dinosaur or another one was Banana Pants.

I have been staring at my 12 weeks scan pic but can't make up my mind about the sex of the baby. Gonna have to wait till 20 week scan to see..

Hope everyone is starting to feel better.

Complicated24 · 16/07/2012 13:58

Hi All, hope everyone's doing well and sickness stage has passed. Grateful for advice on NCT antenatal classes. This is our first baby so thought I should check out availability of NCT classes. We live in West London and they get booked up pretty quickly so I need to get a move on. Are they worth doing? They are pretty expensive so wanted some advice before paying. We will be moving house (to a completely different area) soon after baby is born so will be difficult to continue with NCT friendships afterwards sadly.

EmiliaM · 16/07/2012 16:08

Complicated24 cant really advise you on the NCT classes but I know they are very popular and friend of mine was unable to get a place. I live in Hampshire. I never had any classes and was just fine, let the instincts take over ;)

gemmapops · 16/07/2012 21:18

I had my scan last week and my due date is 23.01.13. I am still suffering with nausea but it is getting easier. Smells are still making me wretch though, anything like washing powder, soap, shampoo, steam and the cold air in fridges all set me off. And my husband cooks smoked bacon sometimes and that smell is the absolute worst of all. Never mind, now that I am having good days I am starting to feel more excited, especially after seeing baby on the scan. Has anyone decided if they want to find out the sex at the 20 week scan? I really want to know but my husband wants to wait, it's going to be fun trying to keep it a secret lol

vickyliz · 17/07/2012 09:57

EmiliaM,

I like Banana Pants!!

gemmapops,

I'm 15 weeks & smells still bother me! Bold 2 in 1, boiling water & the smell of cooking pasta are the main things that set me off at the mo!

gemmapops · 18/07/2012 15:53

I feel for you vickyliz. I am really lucky to have a supermum who has been doing all my washing and drying for me otherwise I wouldn't be able to even step foot in my house if the machine is on.

On a lighter note, has anyone started to think about classes such as aquanatal? I am thinking about trying a class at my local leisure centre but was wondering if any of you have been to them before and if they helped in any way?

xx

SquealyB · 18/07/2012 16:08

Hi all - just to let you know that is a Jan. 2013 ante-natal club thread if you fancied joining!

SquealyB · 18/07/2012 16:09

Oops and congrats all on the good news!!

I am rubbish at locating things on Mumsent but I think you can find it using the search function.

vickyliz · 18/07/2012 22:30

I have been known to have to get off the tube on my way to work if someone's washed their clothes in bold 2in1 or persil small & mighty!

I'm looking for aquanatal too but none in my area :(

Bunny222 · 19/07/2012 21:29

Hi all. Hope you're doing ok. Still a bit icky but hoping that will pass soon. I want to look into NCT. Is it very pricey?

Happea · 21/07/2012 15:57

Hello! I was previously on the 'due in February' thread but having just had a scan I am apparently a bit further along than previously thought and the baby is due on the 26th of January. The last two months since finding out I was pregnant have been a real strain. It was unplanned and I'd only been with my boyfriend 6 months. At the beginning he said he would support me but has changed his mind so I have had to come to terms with the fact that I'm going to be a single mum, as well as dealing with the end of the relationship. He's French - I was at university in France last year - and actually dumped me via Skype two days ago. Feeling pretty miserable, but still very happy and excited about my baby.

Bunny222 · 21/07/2012 23:11

Happea welcome to the club. So sorry to hear about your breakup, must feel so hard for you right now, but sure you'll be wonderful. Its such an exciting time isn't it? Have you ad your scan yet?

Hope you're all well ladies. Anyone looking at prams yet? Have been to mothercare twice now. Surely too early to buy at this stage?

americaninbritain · 25/07/2012 13:21

Haven't been on in a while, and it's good to see every one is still around Smile So this is really just a hello!

Bunny222 · 26/07/2012 16:06

Hi American. Good to see you're doing ok.

Have had to come home today with major sickness and dizziness, the worst of the pregnancy to date. Is anyone else not over the symptoms yet?

Complicated24 · 28/07/2012 15:48

Hi All, hope everyone is doing OK. I went to my first antenatal yoga class today and had serious bump envy. I am 16 weeks and haven't got a proper bump yet, so just look as though my tummy is really fat. Everyone else in class had gorgeous perfect bumps (they ranged from 19 - 38 weeks), so felt as though I was a bit of an interloper attending their class. Not sure whether antenatal yoga is my thing or not - lots of chanting, heavy breathing and relaxing - as was expecting to do more exercise and at least break into a bit of a sweat, but will give it another couple of weeks before making up my mind. I am swimming a couple of times a week too which I am really enjoying.

gemmapops · 28/07/2012 21:37

Well my nausea has just about passed but still struggling with strong smells. At least I can now get on with things without having to smear toothpaste under my nose lol

Bunny 222 We have bought our travel system already! I found a Bebe Confort Streety travel system on ebay and it is fab, it's like new and I only paid £100 for it rather than £400 +. It did dawn on me earlier that I am going to have to store this for the next 6 months but with a tight budget I thought it would be best to buy things when I see them.

How is everyone else feeling? I don't have a bump yet but my love handles are definitely taking shape. I am having to slap on the cocoa butter as well as I have spotted a couple stretch marks, eek!

Bunny222 · 28/07/2012 21:45

Hi all. Gemmapops well done on your eBay find! I am eyeing up a silver cross travel system, and keep wondering if it's too soon...! Plus DH would much rather I went for a hand-me-down hes been able to get his hands on, but it's bulky and heavy and not what I want...

Sickness seems to be subsiding although getting headaches a lot. Anyone else finding this? Am in clothes limbo too, my stuff is getting tight but don't have a proper bump yet for maternity wear. Result is I look rather podgy!

gemmapops · 29/07/2012 12:45

Bunny222 I was so surprised at how heavy some of the prams are and that's without baby and all the accessories needed to go out and about. It's nice to be given a pram but you need something that you can lift by yourself and if you don't like it then you will be reluctant to use it.

I can't wear my usual jeans and trousers now, they all feel too tight so I bought a pair of skinny maternity jeans (£15) and a pair of chinos (£16.99) from New Look which are fab. The jeans just look normal but with a stretchy waistband and the chinos have a piece of adjustable elastic inside so they can grow with you. They don't look like maternity wear and they are so comfortable.
