We have just found out we're expecting baby no 2 in Jan 2012 - how excited? I cannot tell you.

Right now though, I'm bogged down with thoughts at how it could all go wrong instead of enjoying...

We have been trying for over 2 years...so this is a much desired little bubba!!

Hi all,

Nice to see more january due dates!

skinny Generally you won't be offered an early scan unless you have a previous history of more than 3 mc, have bleeding, pain or an indication that something is wrong. I'm at the docs tomorrow and will ask for one, but don't think I'll get one as only 2mc and 2 healthy DD. Will happily pay for a private one though - I think they're way better than NHS unless you're getting high risk consultancy led care. I'm sure lots will disagree!

Well my eldest came out of sch yesterday and shouted 'you look pregnant mum your tummy is so fat!'. She doesn't know yet. So mortified. Friends confirmed did look pg. So embarassed. I'm a size 10. Obviuosly just bloating. Told DH - he said I looked def pg but probably just needed a good pee / fart! lovely! Anyone else bump growing already? x

Wuxiapian · 24/05/2012 18:49

Hi, all!

Had a positive home pregnancy test last tuesday and Dr confirmed pregnancy today!

I am 7 weeks.

Fantastic news, considering my OH was told he had little to zero sperm less than 2 years ago and we'd have to go straight to IVF!

My first midwife appt is in 3 weeks, but I have an EPU appt monday afternoon after expressing concerns to Dr about brown/pink spotting and terrible pains in lower pelvis (I also have fibroids).

Excited and nervous at the same time!!

My EDD is 08/01/13!

DontmindifIdo · 24/05/2012 18:51

hello all, also due in January (21st!) - come over to join us at: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1451995-Jan-2013-club-Oh-wow-its-positive

iwantbabies · 24/05/2012 18:59

Skinny I saw GP today who told me to come back in a week to repeat pg test. If still positive she will refer me straight to the EPU for a scan. She didn't do it today because it was too early to detect anything. It's reassuring to have the 7 day milestone rather than face the prospect of waiting about 8 weeks! Today I had a touch of red/pink blood and a very small amount of brown discharge. I really hope it's implantation and not something more sinister.

Bunny222 · 24/05/2012 19:33

Iwantbabies - I went to the GP today and he did a test but it wasn't conclusive so now have to wait for my blood test results. Has anyone else experienced this? Am now worried that if it isn't conclusive then does it mean my hormones were just awry and really I'm not P after all? Confusing :-( ...

abigboydidit · 24/05/2012 20:10

I think if you have any spotting that makes you anxious then you should get an early scan. Seems unfair to make you wait 2 years. My 1st pregnancy ended in MC which was picked up at about 7 weeks (though baby had stopped growing at 5 weeks). I had no red/pink/flesh blood, no cramping or discomfort even. All I had was some brown "old blood" type discharge which started one evening and was very light and then stopped after about a day. I went for the early scan anyway just for reassurance but it wasn't to be. Had to have a D&C as even a week later I still wasn't showing typical MC signs (no bleeding or cramping). 2nd pregnancy I experienced bright red blood about 5 days before my period was due - assumed my cycle was wonky in fact but no further blood so did a test and found I was pregnant so put it down to implantation. Then at about 8 weeks (after we'd had a healthy early scan!) I had cramping, red blood followed by brownish blood (about the same amount as before)..got scanned again fearing the worst but here I am with DS sleeping next door! I certainly think it's very individual and know I spent ages googling both times round but it can go either way. Really hope for all of you that things work out. My early scan is booked for 6th June so am trying to stay optimistic till then!

abigboydidit · 24/05/2012 20:23

2years?! How on earth did I write that instead of 12 weeks?!!?

salt1 · 24/05/2012 22:09

good luck to everyone with app's and scans coming up, hope you are all keeping well xx

iwantbabies · 24/05/2012 22:15

Beacuse it flaming well feels like two years!!! It so hard not to worry Bunny. I'm trying to focus on the fact that I have got pg naturally so my eggs and his swimmers can do it themselves! As much as I desperately want this bean to grow into a gorgeous little healthy baby I'm trying to be emotionally detached. I felt the GP wasn't enthusiastic today at all and kept going on about clomid. I think she was right not to get my hopes up though. As abigboy says, every person is so different and it may all work out fine.

Bunny222 · 24/05/2012 23:43

Thanks for your words. Should know by next week so fingers crossed. Hope you're all well.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 25/05/2012 06:39

Hi all. i rang the epu yesterday and have a scan today at 11..

Keep fingers and toes crossed for me scant

abigboydidit · 25/05/2012 15:27

How did the scan go Skinny? Been thinking about you.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 25/05/2012 16:40

Hiya.

Scan was ok i guess. they could only see a sac but was to early to see the baby. she said that the sac looks fine and there's no blood build up she can see.

I am booked in for another on the 7th June so it is something to look forward to. its not put my mind at great ease as i was hoping to see the baby there

salt1 · 26/05/2012 17:56

sorry you dont feel at ease skinnymarinadink, i will be send you positive houghts for the 7th. lokk after yourself, hope you have someone to spoil you xx

abigboydidit · 26/05/2012 19:59

All good signs I guess skinny? Did they do a vaginal scan (not sure if that's the right term!)? I got them to do that with my MC as seems they can see a lot more. If they're still vague on the 7th then ask for that if you can so you're not left hanging on. I go on the 6th so will keep you posted!

PipIsOutNow · 26/05/2012 20:41

hello can I join? I got a very unexpected BFP this Thurs and will be due end of Jan beg of Feb. Only 4 weeks atm. Very excited now I have got over the shock. We're getting married next May too so it would seem we may have an extra guest to cater for!!

Already feeling sick and got headaches and upset tummy. Have POAS 5 times and 5 BFPs later I still cant quite believe it!!!

Best wishes and lots of love to all the sticky beans xxx

SkinnyMarinkADink · 26/05/2012 22:19

Abig definatley all the right signs that she could see. sac is in the right place.

Yep had to have an internal. horrible thing that it is. i can't help feeling violated by their instruments!!

I really hope your scan goes all ok for you, hopefully we will both be full of joy from good news by the 8th!

What are you going to do to keep yourself occupied? Were going on holiday tomorrow for a week and me and dh are off work till the 6th

SkinnyMarinkADink · 26/05/2012 22:39

Congratulations pip xx

cartoonface · 27/05/2012 16:31

Hi everyone.
How are you doing pip. I think I'm 5wks 3days and due around 24th Jan.

I had a mmc a couple of months ago so was relieved to be feeling sickly all last week how ever so far this weekend I've not really felt sick at all. But have had a bit of an upset tummy. Warning tmi coming! I was very bloated yesterday most of the day and think mytummy cramps I had where down to constipation then when I finally managed to go felt loads better. But ate a big meal then felt ill AMD ran to the loo. I think my tummy can't take big meals any more

Bunny222 · 27/05/2012 21:10

Hello all. Should get results of blood test tomorrow. Fingers are crossed. Can't imagine I'll be sleeping much tonight, besides the heat!...

Pinklaydee1972 · 28/05/2012 12:48

Im showing already too and only 6 weeks!! Not well either, achy, fever and feel sick on and of. Pains in tummy but don't think related to baby.

Always get ill when pregnant

SquealyB · 28/05/2012 14:30

Congrats everyone - great news.

This is our first time pregnant and very excited. We are due on 25th Jan. and we were very very blessed/lucky/whatever you want to call it to get pregnant on our honeymoon. We have only been married a month so a lot to get used to in a short space of time but so excited.

DrMcNinja · 28/05/2012 16:03

Congratulations to everyone! I'm due on the 3rd Jan with my first! Can't wait!!

abigboydidit · 29/05/2012 07:17

HI everyone. Am 7 weeks on Friday so have spoken to the Early Pregnancy Unit and they've agreed to bring my scan forward to Saturday. Can't decide whether to try to stay positive or expect the worst! Tummy is very swollen but that happened with MC too. Don't feel tired like I did with DS but I guess that could just be the anxiety keeping me going!

Bunny222 · 29/05/2012 07:43

Hello all. Sounds like you're all doing well. Had the docs results- def positive! Am thrilled and a little in shock as must have ovulated without knowing. Midwife appt is next week but am flying next Friday. Doc says it is safe... Do you know how safe it is to fly in early pg? Also am really bloated!
