We have just found out we're expecting baby no 2 in Jan 2012 - how excited? I cannot tell you.

Right now though, I'm bogged down with thoughts at how it could all go wrong instead of enjoying...

We have been trying for over 2 years...so this is a much desired little bubba!!

Hi everyone

I have just found out that I am pregnant after 18 months of trying, this is my first time and according to the NHS calculator I am due on the 19th January 2013.

I seem to be ticking off every item on the symptoms list at the moment lol. Sore boobs, nausea, very tired, constantly thirsty, needing to pee every 30 mins and I am having mild pains in my tummy every now and again. I have my first Dr appointment on Thursday and I am very excited :0)

Flossbert · 04/06/2012 12:11

Hi all
Can I join in please? Dc2 due according to online calc around 21st Jan. V v excited!

SkinnyMarinkADink · 04/06/2012 19:12

abig i am so happy for you! Really glad you got some good news.

Gemma & Floss I have come out due as the 20th January so looks like we will be all hopefully within a few days of each other all going well.

Today i don't feel very well at all.. I had some sever consitipation last week and finally was able to go to the toilet however since then the pain of actually going is pretty awful have been in tears with it. Also making me feel very blurgh. Have taken some lactulose this afternoon in the hope that it helps push out whatever is bunging me up.

Not back to work until thursday and then have the other scan in the morning so atleast i have lots of time to be resting between now and then, DD allowing of course.

Flossbert · 04/06/2012 20:22

Have just had time to read the whole thread - I had not linked my recent terrific farts to my pregnancy at all, but now I know! Bit concerned that DH may also be pregnant though!
Haven't got my first appointment until 19th June and no idea when first scan will be, so all symptoms are good news in the absence of doctor-y reassurance.
How has everyone found having to be booze-free this long weekend? I've struggled a bit. Why does alcohol-free wine taste so bleurgh?!

Bunny222 · 04/06/2012 20:58

Abig great to hear your good news -great! Sounds like we're about the same stage.
skinny so sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish :( I am feeling a bit out of sorts still, doing my best to rest over this long weekend.

As for the none alcoholic wine - I've been on the Schloer, quite nice and fruity and looks like white wine, great so you dont need an excuse for not drinking when you can't tell people yet...

Coxy7 · 04/06/2012 21:12

Hi skinny

My story is a bit long winded so I'll cut it short.. We had been trying for a baby for over 5 years and finally discovered my fsh levels were so high we were told we would never had kids even with Ivf,

We gave up hope for a bit and then someone told me about acupuncture. We found someone who specialises is fertility and started a course of going once a week in conjunction with a different Ivf clinic.

2months after acupuncture treatment my fsh levels had dropped by 50% so the Ivf clinic decided that's the moment they wanted to start the treatment.

I'm now 8 weeks pregnant and so glad we tried every avenue. My acupuncturist is amazing and As this is her field which she specialises in She has had lots of successful stories. She has treated morning sickness, turned breach babies round, brought on labour, help with the thicken of the lining of the womb the list goes on.

It kinds of balances out all you're hormones and clears any blocked energy lines. I also suffer with anxiety and that's gone to.

I'm now such a firm believer in it I would like to go back to college to learn about it myself.

Hope that helps.

salt1 · 04/06/2012 21:35

i am doing fine with no booze, i feel so sick i can barely manage a cup of tea x

SkinnyMarinkADink · 04/06/2012 22:13

Coxy thank you for sharing that with me.

Does it hurt alot? i can only imagine the feeling of needles and not much relaxing.

bunny you've had a huge rollercoaster of emotions so out of sorts is allowed Grin

Salt sorry your also feeling rubbish!

I've had a huge dose of lactulouse so here's hoping for a big clear out and less pains. our flea problem has come back so that's the agenda for tomorrow Hmm

americaninbritain · 05/06/2012 04:54

A lot of new news on here :)

bunny glad to hear that you're doing okay.

Just went to the doctor for the official confirmation, and for some reason they decided to do a very early scan. According to the scan and their estimates, I am due anywhere between January 29 and February 2 Grin

Coxy7 · 05/06/2012 08:42

Dosent hurt at all skinny there tiny little pins and you can't even feel them..

I to had a problem with constipation and didn't go for 10 days..i started eating porridge (proper oats not ready brek) sprinkled with golden linseeds and now Im back to going every day..

Goingtorainagain · 05/06/2012 11:21

Hello, can i join?

My Due date is 20th Jan which is also my 30th bday Shock

I have a DD who is 11.5 months and this new pg was a massive suprise. I fell pg with DD (also unplanned but very much wanted) in my 2nd year of uni, had a year out and got my BFP on the day my maternity leave finished Grin.
Im due to start my 3rd year full time in september....help!!

Congrats to everyone x

LuckyinLondon · 05/06/2012 12:00

Just popping back to catch up on all the news!

bunny - glad to hear you're okay. Take care of yourself!

Flossbert - I am dying without wine. Dying! :) I have tried alcohol-free too, but it's just not the same. Sigh.

abigboydidit · 06/06/2012 07:23

Goingtorainagain am so glad to have you - my DS is 12 months old and I'm also panicking! Only been back at work since Feb and am full time!

Tugstonia · 06/06/2012 07:53

So glad you've had such a good experience with acupuncture Coxy. I'm an acupuncturist and agree it is amazing! Both at helping people to get pregnant and helping with morning sickness etc., and turning breech babies, which is so effective many midwives now do it with the needles. I'm pretty sure the reason I'm feeling so sprightly is that I have acupuncture treatment myself and it's helping to keep the sickness and other symptoms at bay. If people are thinking of trying it make sure you go to someone who has a Lic.Ac. and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (they'll have MBAcC after their name) as they have to have done the full 3 year training. It's important to go to someone who is properly trained because there are certain points that are forbidden during pregnancy.

I'm 7+5 (I think) and booking appt on 22nd June, scan not til 9th July - ages away!! I'm considering paying for a private scan before then because I'm so impatient!

Bunny222 · 06/06/2012 08:39

lucky American skinny thanks am feeling so much better in myself, a bit washed out and quite cold for the last couple of days but definitely better.

Have first midwife appt today - makes it all feel more real. The EPU have called me to arrange my second scan for 19 June, think they're keeping an eye on me after the episode at the weekend. We go away on Friday and the fact that were flying is at the back on my mind. Sure all will be fine, but a bit anxious anyway.

Hope you're doing well all.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 06/06/2012 12:20

Hi all, thought i would check in.

I am so tired, i didn't get out of bed till 11am this morning. Me and dh have just had 12 days off work and are back tomorrow which i am totally dreading.

Also have scan booked for 11am tomorrow so feeling very nervous.

Is anyone thinking about how they are going to juggle an extra baby? i had a slight meltdown and panic thinking about it all, especially as i need to be working again after 8 weeks.

Goingtorainagain · 06/06/2012 15:07

abigboydidit i am hoping the new baby is as placid and easy going as DD. Shes at the stage where she will quite happily play by herself whilst mommy has a cup of tea Grin
I am so in love with her, im so scared of having a new one join our little gang.

Im going to see my tutor at some point this week and break the news that yet again in upduffed and unable to do a few of my assesments. I also want to know what my options are in relation to completing my degree full time. SkinnyMarinkADink its looking like ill be back at uni 5 days a week on placement after 6 weeks. I had 12 months off with DD so that will be a shocker.

My booking appointment is on the 12th, the community midwife remembered me when i rang, i told her i wasnt having any more kids when DD was born!! i hadnt slept in 60 hours though, thats my excuse.

gemmapops · 06/06/2012 22:21

Do any of you have any suggestions to help ease my nausea? I am managing to eat little of often but the queasiness between meals is horrible. I have a Dr appt tomorrow but I was wondering if you had any tips :0S

SkinnyMarinkADink and floss it's nice to know others who are due around the same time, this is my first baby so it's all a bit daunting and exciting all at once.

abigboydidit · 07/06/2012 08:30

Good luck today skinny

americaninbritain · 07/06/2012 09:15

Goingto how difficult is it to study and be pg at the same time? I was thinking about starting a certificate program in January 2013, but now that I'm due at the end of January it looks like it might be impossible to do a full time 12 week program. Any thoughts on online classes via OU or something?

SkinnyMarinkADink · 07/06/2012 10:00

Well today is the day. i did not sleep one wink last night. dreaming all sorts of eventualities.

Surely everything is ok? my nerves are playing havoc with my tummy.

Thanks for the luck big.

gemma the only thing that works for me is to constantly be eating, literally be it grapes/ biscuits if Im not eating i feel sick. never am sick but i feel like i will be

tiredteddy · 07/06/2012 10:16

Good luck skinny thinking of you today.

SkinnyMarinkADink · 07/06/2012 15:18

HELLO all you lovely ladies!

Well what a morning it was! the scan man had to do an internal as my bladder was in the way apparently....

Everything is perfect, lovely strong heartbeat fluttering away! i have a picture of it aswell everyone I've shown says it looks like a frog which is funny as it does!

Panic over. time to relax and enjoy now i know its all okay

americaninbritain · 07/06/2012 15:51

skinny great news!

bunny how was the appointment?

adrianastar · 07/06/2012 16:18

Hi, this is my first post ever so please be gentle ;)
I'm now 8 weeks with my first pregnancy. I was moaning to my hubby that we need to start trying because noone knows how long it's going to take and hey - two weeks later my period didn't come. I still can't believe it (my h even said that he feels tricked ;)
It's lovely reading your posts and getting some reassurance. Skinny - I'm so happy all is well with you!
I have a question though - I have been feeling quite a bit of pain around my tailbone area. Is anyone experiencing that? I've never had any injury or pain in there before so it can't be that... Just interested to hear if anyone else experiences that. I must say - I sit around 8 hrs at work at my desk which probably doesn't help...
Good luck everyone and hopefuly we can all go through the scariest 12 weeks!!!
