New thread for september 06 got the thumbs up so i've started it. come join me, i'm lonely even tho celebrating inwardly that i finally have a symptom - nearly threw up when i had had a coughing fit. that's a symptom now, isn't it? plus pants are getting tight and i want to eat all the time.

Bella23 · 14/02/2006 12:54

Hiya - I'll join you.
I've not had any sickness but think this is because I am constantly eating!!
10 weeks on Friday and counting......time seems to be passing sooooo slowly!

radster · 14/02/2006 13:43

congrats bella! i'm eating constantly from when i wake up till when i go to bed. maybe that's the mistake i made with dd, i let myself get hungry and there was no turning back from the waves of nausea, worse than the worst hangover.
is this your first pregnancy? do you have any cravings? mine are spinach and grapes - and orange juice which usually gives me a headache. know what you mean about slowness - can't wait for the scan in four weeks' time!

Yep this is my first.
I had a m/c last year and so am very nervous about everything and just can't wait for the 12 week scan to give me reassurance.
I did have an early scan at 7 weeks where I saw the heartbeat but that reassurance only lasted about a week and then I was back to worrying again!!
To be honest my cravings have all been sweet. I've totally gone off veggies which I usually eat by the truckload and all I want is cake!!

TopBanana · 14/02/2006 13:48

Ooooh new thread

puppy · 14/02/2006 13:54

Afternoon all and congrats/welcom radster
Hope you are all ok and have had a good weekend.

Glad your scan went well norms,
another few weeks till I see the midwife, nothing much to report really besides eating loads

Rant alert (hope you don't mind ignore if you wish):
I had mostly lovely relaxing weekend , sunday night dh and I did homemade pizza together and rented bewitched dvd and was enjoying our evening with ds tucked up in bed and dsd out at a party then having a sleepover at her friends when the phone rang: dsd friends mum on the phone, can you come and pick her up she has turned upto the party parlyetic (?sp) .
She had downed god knows how much vodka and when we turned up was unconcious [shocked] and had vomited everywhere. I washed/changed her and then put her into the recovery position on my own and DH kept checking on her during the night. she had only been out of the house less than 4 hours! Whats annoying me is that dh has just given her a list of punishments and has not sat down with her to give her a good talking to. I have found out where she purchased the alcohol from so should I contact them to make a complaint or the police to make them aware that they have sold to under age (she is 16). DH always lets her get away with murder sigh, anyway I Apologise for this, just wanted to have a good rant and get it off my chest. All relaxed now

Bella23 · 14/02/2006 14:04

Oh dear Puppy - sounds very stressful.
I would say however that every teenager does this at some point and its usually enough to put them off drinking again for a long time!!
Yes a good talking to is probably needed - however at 16 I never listened to a word anybody ever said!!

kreamkrackers · 14/02/2006 15:23

puppy - that's awful. it must've been so scary for you to see her in that state. she does need a good talking to. the problem with the shop could be proving it. if you could do i think the police is better as there are a lot of teenagers around here doing it and it is never just a one off. it drives me mad as they really don't care about people being in bed and it's not just at weekends. it is a very quiet area in the day but we're definetly going to be moving out of this area by the time our children reach high school.

puppy · 14/02/2006 15:40

I also feel she needs a good talking to, I think I will have a word with DH regarding it, I feel its not right for me to do it being her step mum (her biological mum doesn't have much to do with her).
oh it was really scary, I used to work in a town centre pub on weekend nights years ago and never saw anybody as bad as she was.
The area we live in is good this was in the next door small town which areas of it are rough.

Bella hope your right that she will be put off in future i really do.
Kk yep it would be a problem proving it, if I think of a way to prove it then I would let the police aware which is doubtful. Its the older shop assistants that anger me (not all i'd like to add, just those with children that sell to the under aged ), Our local shop asks for ID if you look under 21years for both cigs and alcohol.

HellKat · 14/02/2006 18:07

Hiya all.
Bella- Im 10 wks on Friday too!
Puppy- Difficult situation. She's at the age where she won't listen and has to do everything the hard way. It's not the drinking so much (all teenagers do it eventually) it's the quantity that's dangerous. Be great if you could go through a search engine and type alcohol poisoning and see if they have some lovely gruesome details. If you explain to her that alcohol is fine (in moderation) and preferably at home (where it's legal) rather than a huge bender where she risks choking on her own vomit, she may listen. Teenagers eh?
Off for a soak and an early night here. Still have this terrible headache.
Have a lovely night girls xxxxxxxxxxxx

compo · 14/02/2006 18:18

Evening everyone. What a nightmare Puppy - hope your dh has done his job!!
I'm 10 weeks today and still feeling awful. Dh is getting a chinese for Valentine's night so hoping I can eat some of it!!

Angeliz · 14/02/2006 20:56

Hi everyone.
Puppy, what a nightmare! Maybe the hangover will teach her at least what follows! I dread those days.
Well i had an awful cramps today. hadn't stopped all day, had to take our dog to the vets and then came back and had Hell on with all the biulders who are building luxury bloody falts opposite our house. Only thing is, they can't get the lorried in so they are coming up on a flower patch where there are 2 trees with preservation orders RIGHT next to our garden wall, to get the lorries round. Council, Police and noone wants to help! DP evntually got the foreman to say he'll put up a fence to stop the bloody builders.
Anyway, i then really couldn't move. I was in such a total cramp, i was really in pain and a bit worreid.
Fortunately dp was here so i lay down and within a few hours i felt a bit better but i did worry

puppy · 14/02/2006 21:10

hi all, oooohh chinese compo lucky you, just could eat one yum yum.
Hope the headache gets better hellkat, has the bleeding eased yet?

I have wrote dsd an email on the subject as imo dh has not said enough, I have linked to a website where teens have died of alcohol poisoning and have described how bad she was in detail.
I have shown dh the email and he has agreed for me to send it. She will not see it till monday as she is banned from the net till then. Thanks for all your advice

puppy · 14/02/2006 21:14

angeliz I've had the odd day of really bad cramps hope they have eased.
Glad the foreman is doing something about the protected trees.
We let dsd sleep it off, she didn't appear too unwell surprisingly

morning everyone

homemama - have you got an antacid with the sickness medicine? my dd is on domperidone which speeds up her digestion to try to help her with the sickness and ranitidine which is an antacid as she has been in loads of pain and infant gaviscon wasn't helping her. i'm not sure what you're allowed in pregnancy but if you're not on anything for this maybe you should ask.

angeliz - i've been in loads of pain with my stomach and it turned out to be a water infection so you need to get checked out for this. i wasn't even in pain when urinating which i always thought you were when having a water infection, had never had one before but heard this was the sign of a water infection. i drank loads of water, took cocodamol and managed to get dp to get me some cranberry juice for it and it cleared up without antibiotics.

puppy - i never got hangovers until after i had dd, only really drink at christmas now and i can only have a couple of glasses of wine as i get so tired and suffer a hangover so it's easier for me not to drink these days. i think the email is a very good idea and hopefully she won't be tempted to go out drinking that much again.

Busyalexsmummy · 15/02/2006 09:24

Hellcat, was thinking of you a while back, so glad everything going well for you and beanies ok.
love and sticky babydust xx

Coriander73 · 15/02/2006 09:26

DH back from Canada last night. Decided at 2am that he'd like a conjugal visit....which the mere thought of sent waves of panic through my entire body!! He said is there a time scale we're working to & I said yes, 9 months!!!!! Poor thing..with DD I went totally went off sex for 9 months & I think we're heading the same way again. He was very cuddly & I just wanted to hit him with a stick to get him away from me.....

Not feeling too bad at the moment but then again the worst time is between 4 & 7. Just had a bacon roll & still feel hungry. On & up my fellow sufferers!!!

Coriander73 · 15/02/2006 09:29

Puppy, brilliant idea about the email.

puppy · 15/02/2006 10:09

morning all, i feel such a pig, i have just eaten four crumpets with butter and philly on and i'm still hungry roll on lunch time. Really trying to resist eating too much.

coriander i too have to turn dh away, i really feel for him. I am just too tired at the mo besides we have been adviced against it for a while till ech has had time to heal. Not had any bleedimg for a fortnight now. .

Anybody going for any scans soon?

mabel1973 · 15/02/2006 10:28

lol cori - I know exactly how you feel
puppy - what a horrible situation - if it's any consolation my cousin did something similar when she was 15 and actually ended up in hospital having her stomach pumped, she obviously learnt from it because she is now a very mature 17 year old off to university in september. I think it is something they all do, have to go through and learn from, unfortunately my cousin learnt the hard way.
well I managed to get my hair cut yestreday which was a treat and gave me a boost, still haven't picked up my antibiotics though - got my priorities right here...

Morning all ladies.
OOh agree on the conjugals - the very idea would make me run for the hills!!
I am hoping to get my date through for my first scan - literally willing away the time until I get to see if all is ok.
Hellkat - you are the same date as me - have you got your scan date through yet?
Angeliz - are you feeling better today, its really worrying when you get cramps, but I am sure its all normalm probably just stressed yourself out a bit.

compo · 15/02/2006 12:55

me too Bella - getting ery frustrated that my scan date hasn't come through the letterbox yet! I'll be 11 weeks on Tuesday (going by first day of last period) so think I'll phone up if haven't heard anything by then. Did get my free NHS card through the post today though so at least that's something!! Threw up the chinese last night and have just thrown up lunch too!! Really sick of the sickness now, only had it for 3 weeks with ds so getting very annoyed that it's nt passing!

Coriander73 · 15/02/2006 15:46

Compo...bet it's a girl then!!!!!! I've not been as sick this time as I was with dd...which makes me think that a) I really was bad last time & b) it's got to be a boy!! I don't know how true it is but they do say that statistically the worse you are the chances are it's probably a girl (although I'm sure there is someone out there who'll prove me wrong right now!!!)

Am going home now as I feel really crap...like you am getting really fed up now
