Radster- I'm so sorry, my thoughts are with you.

Homemama - I hope you are ok, we haven't heard from you for a while.

I can't believe you all have scans so soon, mine feels ages away on the 16th of march and i'll be 15 weeks by then (sulk)!

I'm really suffering with backache as a result of the car crash, doc says I've got swelling in my lower back, but it causes shooting pains in my legs and paracetamol isn't much good at hitting the pain.

I too can't sleep through the night, but i'm not even waking up for the toilet, I just can't sleep. Is very annoying, not even anything on my mind, just can't sleep.

Norms - I'm sending you low bp vibes and hope you were just feeling a bit stressed.

I got my trusty next maternity joggers out the other day cause all my big clothes were in the wash and I can't believe how comfortable they were. Big, but my ds didn't mind!

Sorry I've not posted for a while, ds has the flu and is so poorly bless him. Normal routine has gone out of the window. x

HellKat · 19/02/2006 10:11

Morning all.
Cal- Sorry to hear you're having a bad time of it hun. Hope little man gets better soon.
Compo- Quiet celebration for you not feeling sick (I'll do a big cheer if it stops for good ).
It's definitely movement I've felt!!!! Did'nt feel it move as such last night but felt a definite "shift" and then it wedged itself behind my hip bone (very uncomfortable). Lol you could actually see a teeny bulge out the side. Managed to move it back. very, very bizarre. Only ever had this further along when you could actually feel definite kicks.

Woodelf · 19/02/2006 11:44

Hi all,

Radster so sorry about your news, hang in there honey {{{hugs}}}

KK and compo, discovered only yesterday in a mag that i could have taken paracetomol after all... but don't think it would have had much impact on that headache!
DH is coming with me on Tues for my scan cos I think he's worried too about beanie - he's never seen me so ill!

Mabel, know what you mean about short maternity trousers (do we shrink when pg?. Will be hunting down low risers on ebay in next size up methinks

Woodelf · 19/02/2006 11:46

bubbles guys!??

Think i've got wind . As my first maybe will happen later???

mabel1973 · 19/02/2006 12:31

Hi everyone!

woodelf - lol apparantly you are right either that or it is a crime against fashion to be over 5' 8" and pregnant!
HK have checked out ebay and am bidding on some jeans as we speak.

Calvemjoe - ask your doctor for cocodemol - I was given this when I had sciatica with DS, it is stronger than paracetomol.

benjaminsmum · 19/02/2006 15:00

Twelve weeks today - YEAH.

I have felt bubbles but just thought I needed to go to the toliet!

With ds it turned out that my placenta was in the front which provided extra padding when he kicked so took longer for me to feel. Will ask where the placenta is on Wednesday. Can't wait too see that it is okay past the majical twelve week mark.

Cal - Hope ds and yourself feel better soon.

mabel1973 · 19/02/2006 17:00

yipeee! Have just won a pair of brand new topshop maternity jeans on ebay for 12 quid!
V. Pleased with myself!!!

HellKat · 19/02/2006 17:02

Well done Mabel!!!!!!

Hmmmmm think all the jeans I like will be snapped on Ebay now I've revealed my cheapy tips

calvemjoe · 19/02/2006 17:06

Benjaminsmum - congrats on reaching 12 weeks, i'm so pleased for you.
I'm feeling bubbles, I keep telling myself it can't be movement but it doesn't coincide with wind (sorry tmi!) or anything, so a little part of me keeps on saying hi to my beanie everytime I feel it.
Woodelf - Nexts maternity range is now available in long sizes, just went on directory online to double check. It wasn't last time I was pg but definitly is now.
Mabel - thanks for the advice, will ask dr for the cocodemol. I'm coping when I'm at home but work is killing me.
Thanks for wishing my little man well, it breaks my heart to see him so poorly. Dh sent a recording of him sobbing to me at work and I nearly quit my job to go home to him cause he was asking for his mummy. He is a little better today, still looks like he's hungover with bloodshot swollen eyes but he's down to one spoon of calpol so I think we're getting there. x

HellKat · 19/02/2006 17:09

Thank goodness he's on the mend. Bless him. I hate it when they're ill. Makes your heart break.

kreamkrackers · 19/02/2006 17:41

calvemjoe - cocodamol is perfectly safe in pregnancy and you can get it from any chemist if you want to safe a trip to the doctors. it's safe during labour but it shouldn't be used for braxton hicks as baby can become addicted if taken for a period of time before giving birth.

i'm 9 weeks today

katiejane68 · 19/02/2006 17:42

HI there ladies. Haven't posted for weeks as been ill with a virus. Can't take anything so just been ploughing through with the naseau too - feeling very sorry for myself can you tell?

Just caught up on all the messages, how our lives are moving on already. I am 10 weeks today and huge. Already in maternity clothes. Now I remember how crap they are. I am only 5'1" so everything needs altering. Found some amazingly soft brown cords at Mothercare yesterday.

Am eating for England still, lots of savoury carbs. Don't want chocolate (v.unusual) maybe this one's a girl. First midwife appointment tomorrow. Hope everyone's doing OK.

katiejane68 · 19/02/2006 17:45

Oh forgot to say am feeling lots of bubbles in my tummy especially in bed at night. Was wondering if it was baby or just wind, but does feel different.

mabel1973 · 19/02/2006 18:22

like you katiejane I am eating carbs for england and off chocolate.
The thought of eating a healthy plate of veggies and fish turns my stomach. Bring on the crumpets I say!

compo · 19/02/2006 18:44

me too - I know I should be eating broccoli and salmon but I just want lasagne and chips!!
Lol Hellkat - still feeling a bit better today, not back to normal, but definitely an improvement!!

calvemjoe · 19/02/2006 18:53

Compo, I hope the sickness is over for you, it must be very exhausting being sick all the time x

Woodelf · 19/02/2006 23:17

Thanks Calvemjoe, will check out Next!

kreamkrackers · 20/02/2006 08:57

morning everyone. what's the strangest dream you've had in your pregnancy so far? i dreamt last night that i was in los angeles with nichol richie and paris hilton! i want to scream at the thought of it (but would love to be in los angeles though!).

HellKat · 20/02/2006 09:08

Kk- LOl!!!!! Too funny.
I always have strange, vivid dreams so being pg is not much different.
Still feeling knackered all the time, can't wait for that to shift.

calvemjoe · 20/02/2006 09:21

Last night I dreamt that i was in mumsnet and I had to try and find that woman who said she'd taken an overdose. Really freaked me out.

HellKat · 20/02/2006 09:22

OOhhh that woman!!! Can't believe someone would be that bloody sick.

Anyhoo more importantly Cal, did you get your bath last night lol?

calvemjoe · 20/02/2006 09:24

I most certainly did, with candles, lavender oil and a glass of iced water, I think he was after something!

Bella23 · 20/02/2006 10:04

Morning ladies.
Hope you all had good weekends. I think I slept for most of mine, just can't seem to get enough sleep at the moment!
Am struggling on the eating front as all I want is sweet things.
I find that I get really hungry but then when I sit down to eat a meal can only manage about a quarter of it before I feel really full. Very unlike me as usually wolf down meals.
Anybody else finding that they can't eat meals?
Now....when it comes to desert? No problem!!

HellKat · 20/02/2006 10:17

Good for you Cal.
bella- I'm the same. make a huge dinner and only manage some. But I do graze all day long eating little and often. Gone totally off sweet things too.

compo · 20/02/2006 11:29

Morning everyone! Feeling sick again today I think it was because ds decided to wake up in the early hours and say over and over again 'hello dada' which kept me awke. Dh slept through it all of course!!
