confuzed90 · 10/04/2012 21:34

Yay new thread.. On my phone which was struggling to load other thread as was too full :D

Nordicmom · 10/04/2012 21:34

Marking my place so won't loose you guys:)

Twittle · 10/04/2012 21:50

Haven't posted for ages but just had an hour catch up on all of the news and all of the babies that have arrived! Am 38+1 now with Obstetric Cholestasis again..... means two weekly trips to hospital, at least they are kind of keeping an eye on me I suppose! Really can't wait till this baby arrives all the kicks and jabs aren't very comfortable these days! So great to hear everyone getting closer to D-Day, am getting really nervous now as was induced last time around and so just don't know what to expect if it all happens naturally this time!!! Big congratulations to those with their little bundles so far!

WhenDoISleep · 10/04/2012 22:01

lovely shiney new thread - wonder if we will all pop before the thread runs out of space.

Had my 38wk check today with the GP - all boringly normal but got told I looked big. Well, DS2 is head down and his bum is poking out so, yes, I look big, but as I have measured bang on for dates all the way through, I'm not about to start worrying now.

Absolutely nothing to report here on the labour-spotting front. Nary a twinge, a hint of knicker-snot, nothing, nada. Not a big surprise tbh, had nothing with DS1 either - never felt any BH at any point and was woken by a mega-contraction at the start of labour and only had a show at that point.

DS2 seems pretty comfy where he is and I really don't blame him for wanting to stay there after yesterdays trip to Ikea. On a rainy bank holiday Monday. Not, I might add, my idea. DH thought it would be ok - we did try to warn him it would be the stuff nightmares are made of. Now I like Ikea but we have been 3 times in the last 6/7 weeks, and I really don't want to be going again anytime soon - and if I do it will be when I prefer, which is on a sunny weekday in term time - generally guarenteed to be a (reletively) ok experience.

congratulations to digital and mummylivmade

buns hope everything went ok and you are loved up with your squidgy newborn now

mummylivmade · 10/04/2012 22:41

Thanks justhayley wishing you a happy birthday too!
And it certainly does rock to have 3 daughters bananna1 it's been chaos in our house today!!
Let's hope the babies just keep popping out now! Good luck ladies

spannermary · 10/04/2012 23:46

Hello!!!

Dammit, though, I don't want to be comfy on an antenatal thread at soon-to-be 40+3!

Still, as I mentioned earlier, Doc seems to think the baby's showing no signs of arriving. So I guess I'll be here a while.

Tinwe · 11/04/2012 01:08

Hello all! Nothing to report here either. Congratulations to digital, mummy and buns Thanks

Cutelittlecatlover · 11/04/2012 03:43

Hello everyone, congratulations digitalgirl, mummyliv and bunsout.

I'm up having irregular cramps, I'm not getting excited as I've had weeks of on off cramping and still no baby. 41 weeks today, it feels like this baby is never coming out!

I had a sweep yesterday and the mw said she has a good feeling it will work. It wasn't too bad but it made me bleed a bit and since then I've been losing bits of bloody show. I'm annoyed that I let her book me in for "a chat with the consultant" about induction next Monday, I don't want to be induced and I know they will try to push me into it Sad

Cutelittlecatlover · 11/04/2012 06:59

Well my cramps turned out to be wind Blush

I've just noticed sil tried to call me last night, great that means lots of calls asking for news today because obviously the only reason anyone doesn't answer the phone is because they're in labour Angry . I'm so pissed off with everything atm, my poor dh is afraid to breathe near me. Please come out now baby!

Flisspaps · 11/04/2012 08:10

cutelittlecatlover 41w here too. If you don't want 'the chat' call and cancel. Getting rid of that cloud may help relax you!

MW appt today. Suddenly unsure as to whether I should just have a sweep. I'm very much in the 'they only work if you're going into labour anyway' camp but I'm thinking it can't really do much harm either, and if I am even remotely dilated it'll be a mental boost to know but then if they can't do one its going to cause me stress and that's going to hinder any progress I could make on my own tonight anyway IYSWIM. If I do have one I shall tell her to make it worthwhile though, go for it.

Oh I don't know Sad

I will decline 'a chat' with a consultant or an induction appt though.

VintageNancy · 11/04/2012 08:23

Hello fellow 41-weekers cute and fliss. It's just after midnight and I'm sitting on my ball having pretty strong BHs (I don't think it's the real thing, I always get them this time of night). Had acupuncture yesterday though so maybe things will develop...

Lovely to catch on the new baby news! Although my half-asleep brain has forgotten who had what and I can't scroll on my phone. Thanks all round!

UsPlusYou · 11/04/2012 08:53

Hello everyone, sorry I've been MIA for a few days - my DH has been on annual leave before paternity kicks in so we're trying to keep busy and have lots of fun family times with our DD before #2 makes an appearance. Desperately trying to take my mind of symptom spotting but considering by this stage in my pregnancy before I was already in labour and so far not a hint, distraction's not really working! I'm only 39+6 today so not as bad as some of you poor ladies but I'm not used to waiting and patience is a virtue I lack! Having said that, I knew their dates with my DD were spot on, whereas this time I know that technically I'm not actually 40wks until the coming Sun/Mon, it's just frustrating when I've had six months of concentrating on 12th April because that's the date I was given at my 12wk scan and I've conveniently managed to forget that I know for a fact that's not accurate!

Really hope everyone else is ok and had a good choccie-fuelled easter. I hope you're all coping better than me with the trials and tribulations of late pregnancy/being overdue too! Congratulations to all the BAs I've missed, I know there's been a few Easter bunnies! My birthday was on Easter Sunday this year and it really is a lovely time of year to be born. :)

Hey everyone..feel extremely fed up today and I'm only 38 weeks today :( I had regular contractions all day yesterday to just stop in the evening.I haven't slept properly since god knows when. Last night was expecially bad, which I blame from the contractions yesterday got me all geared up for things. So I used primrose oil last night and it was like I was awaiting things to kick off again, never did. I'm very grouchy today...was very emotional yesterday but today my poor DP and DS have already received a few gob fulls and 'telling off'. I know that my cervix is ready, was checked a few weeks ago, was soft, 1cm dilated, effacing and baby is fully engaged. Just need to kick start things but I can't help feeling stressed.
Sorry...I really needed a moan. Could just sit and cry! I know those of you who are overdue must be very fed up to. So I'm sorry. Being overdue really is the worst thing...DS was 41+4.

HollyPockett · 11/04/2012 09:15

Yeay for the new babies! Well done buns, digi and dream and mummyliv. I hope I didn't miss anyone or add anyone!

I went for a realllly long walk with my mum and dad yesterday, along the Thames, over bridges and all I got was a lousy backache :). I think they're getting a little impatient for the Diva to arrive! I wouldn't mind, but I'm due today, so not even late yet.

gah. Getting impatient now!

marshmallowpies · 11/04/2012 09:55

Just checking in here, I'm 39 weeks today!

As DD has now turned from head down to breech and back again TWICE I have flipped between gearing up for an ELCS to going back on the bouncy ball and facing up to the prospect of going overdue...head was not engaged as of yesterday.

Will wait and see what MW says tomorrow...if she offers me a sweep next week I'd be tempted to go for it, but presumably it's more likely to work if baby is properly engaged. Gah!

spannermary · 11/04/2012 10:17

Wow - marshmallow what an acrobatic baby! My baby appears to have moved s bit too...from suspected breech to back to back but now he's head down, spine on left, so there's still hope! (wish he'd engage though...)

My rash continues to make my life very tricky! Not had more than 2h sleep in a row for last 2 nights because of it. Strange that original rash on belly so much better but different rash everywhere else is vile! Would be much happier of doc could've prescribed something or knew what I was allergic to. My only thought is we've switched from non-bio liquid to non-bio tablets - but same brand. Strange...

Had some pant snot this morning: think this may have something to do with cervical assessment yesterday so trying not to get hopes up! Smile

Best to all!

marshmallowpies · 11/04/2012 10:30

:( at spanner for your rash...did they mention using the mildest kind of hydrocortisone, or did they think that wouldn't be strong enough to deal with it?

I was prescribed 1% hydrocortisone cream last week for itchy rash on feet and it has mostly cleared up now (I think the hot weather cooling down again helped, it felt a bit like prickly heat). There is still red bumpy skin on my toes but at least it doesn't itch now.

In a piece of Shock news one of my NCT class gave birth on her bathroom floor after a 2 hour labour!! It all went too quickly for her to get to the hospital, but I assume (hope) in that time a midwife managed to get to her - (still waiting to hear the full story).

Bananna1 · 11/04/2012 10:35

Congratulations to Dreamc1 and Buns, loving all this happy baby news.

Just wish it was time for you ladies who are overdue, waiting and wondering. Won't be long now, surely?!

10 days to go here - builder told me he has more than 10 days work left. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :(

notso · 11/04/2012 10:44

Congratulations Digitalgirl Dreamc1 mummylivmade and Bunsouttheoven well done all.

Digital, looking forward to reading your story.

I am feeling much more calm but strangely energetic today.
I had really geared up for it to be yesterday even though the chances were minimal.
Have decided to focus as much attention as I can on DS2 and his last few weeks...days...hours of being the youngest baby, we had lovely snuggly cuddles in bed this morning.
I am going to take him to get his first shoes tomorrow, and we are planning a day to either the Aquarium or Zoo when DH is off for another long weekend.
All three DC are staying at my parents tomorrow night which will be a welcome break. I think DH and I might go out for a meal while we can. Not sure if anyone will have the space to have four DC overnight so I guess it will be a while before we get the chance again.

Nordicmom · 11/04/2012 11:21

Congrats Buns and Dream!!!

mummylivmade · 11/04/2012 11:23

Congratulations buns and dreamc hope all is well? I had forgotten all about the feeling of sleepless nights, and sore nipples!! Rant and moan!!

spannermary · 11/04/2012 12:06

Marshmallow - the Doctor said that the hydrocortisone would work on my stomach, but not on my other rash as it's an allergy, so i'm just using calomine lotion and aqueous cream at the moment! Also having cool baths and trying to keep things off my skin.

It's really strange - we can't figure out what's changed at all - otherwise I'd cut it out. I think we'll be talking about induction on Friday, which is scary - does it make a difference if the baby is still very settled?

I've also heard stories of people not being offered epis if they're induced with highish BP/rash so that's another concern.

In better news I'm giving myself a laugh this morning by trying to cut my toenails! Later Mum and Dad are taking me and DH out to lunch to try and take our mind off things...should be lovely!

balkanscot · 11/04/2012 12:08

Many congratulations to the two latest arrivals - Dreamc1 and Buns! Wine Thanks

I am now 39+1 and had an uncomfortable night with BH and the baby moving even further down the birth canal. At one point I got beached stuck on my right side - I couldn't move it was so painful, yet I had to as my hips were killing me. Confused Tried sleeping in the armchair, most uncomfortable, so I crept back into bed. Oh, yes, and my feet have started to swell up again (hello, cankles), not good! Angry
