Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

Honestly some people are so rude!*

*having said that, I reserve the right to scowl at anyone who gets in my zone during labour. especially if they might be about to steal my birthing pool

GiraffeAHolic · 30/12/2011 10:00

Good luck for today M2b any anyone else who feels like popping today.

Just heard that a friend was contracting last night and has gone in this morning, so fingers crossed for her this morning too.

Have MW at 11:30, should really go get showered but still in pjs watching cat in the hat with Dd.

Is it just me that goes to bed early, absolutely shattered, then can't sleep and proceeds to be awake 90% of the night Hmm

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 30/12/2011 10:02

OMG! One Born Every Minute is back on Wednesday! But do we dare watch it this time around? Grin

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 30/12/2011 10:16

Nope. I'm not watching it - it's anti my calm birthing thoughts! Grin

Oeisha · 30/12/2011 10:32

giraffe No, if I go to sleep before 9 I'm guaranteed to be awake by about 4. If I wait 'til after 10, there's a fighting chance I might sleep well.

Again whilst doing massage lastnight DH mentioned how unbelievably gunky I was. Maybe I'm losing my plug slowly...though all the discharge I've seen's whiteish...maybe not!

Oh! That reminds me! DH was sort of lying on his side whilst he was doing the massage, and Bo-bar decided to jump on the bed and lol himself over DH's hip and stare with interest...made us laugh so friggin much...almost as funny as the time a previous kitty swiped and bit DH mid DTD..the only thing we can think is that I was being a bit noisey and he felt he had to protect me!

Dh has doen a decent tidy of the front room already today. Just kitched to do again now.

Here's hoping some babies make appearances now! Grin

Morning ladies

Feel crappy today. Thumping headache.

Good luck fish and ofcourse m2b and everyone else visiting the hospital/mw today

abeautifulbutterfly · 30/12/2011 11:20

Things are getting really close now - I think there's going to be a rash of NYE/NYD babies!

Very good luck M2B, Fish, and whoever else was being induced/ going spontaneously.

I am still absolutely intact (37+6), still working, driving, bump still high, baby still practising karate moves...

Have appt and scan on Monday. Got baby monitor and 1 feeding bra yesterday (my favourite shop didn't have any more in my size, so will have to go to Mothercare or somewhere else generic...) and DH is bidding for my slings today (I am crap at anything internet-related but I found an amazing deal - a wrap sling with a ring sling thrown in as a bonus Shock Grin)

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 30/12/2011 12:20

Fx fish

GiraffeAHolic · 30/12/2011 12:37

Good luck fish.

Just got back from MW, everything fine, leukocytes in urine but I haven't had any UTI symptoms - think I'm just working my way down the list!

Only about 1/5ths palpable now and baby laying L.O.L so not completely back to back.

Refused membrane sweep for next Thursday so just have a normal 40+ week appointment for then.

shonnomanom · 30/12/2011 15:18

I want this baby out already! ! !

2days to due date and the calls and texts to 'see how I am' have started already.

greenlady78 · 30/12/2011 15:25

fish good luck!!!!

Stayed in till 11am, they monitored the baby and all is fine Smile

I'm such a plonker, I have the Higgs Bossom!!! I thought it was the baby getting too big and stuff, but it is actually bh! That gave me real confidence (not) that I will know when I'm in labour...duh!

Hope everyone is well and can't wait for more info on the little ones on the way xxx

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 30/12/2011 16:37

Hi guys,

What a bloody morning. I am exhausted from all the running about. We were up at the hospital for bloody ages it was like the marie celeste. Evreyone was tucked away in little rooms and there were staff to be seen til dh started getting a bit stroppy after over an hour of waiting having seen no-one.

Anyway the upshot is alls well: I am not in labour, but i am having contractions, baby is big so i'm feeling extra pressure on my uterus and muscles. Sent off sample because showing possible UTI symptoms. The fluid is just discharge-possible thrush. I'm not dilated, cervix is still high. Heartbeat clear and strong movements fine.

I'm bloody pissed off, I really thought things were going to start. At least i can relax now. Didn't get a chance to do the housework I wanted to do today and i'm too knackered now.

knittiekitty · 30/12/2011 16:55

Hi from the fug of nappies, leaky nipples and at long last chocolate! My induction was delayed by some emergency admissions last week and they broke my waters on Wednesday afternoon. Three hours later our baby girl arrived weighing in at 7lb 7oz! She was 3lb lighter than her big sister so my vast bulk was largely down to fluid caused by the GD. It took a day or so for her sugar levels and temperature to stabilise (common side effect of GD) so we weren't discharged until Christmas Eve. She's completely gorgeous with masses of light brown hair and although Christmas has been a bit of a haze I'm so relieved all is well.
My labour was really quick as expected - so quick that the epidural I requested wasn't possible (I remember the man staring at me in confusion and then leaving again) and the pethidine kicked in just after I delivered - that bloody hurt although the gas and air left me pleasantly drunk. I have loads of stitches from 2nd degree tears but they don't hurt more than paracetamol could cover so it could have been worse!
I'm really sorry I don't have time to catch up and see if there are any other early babies - we're knackered from the 3am feeds and I'm permamently 2 hours behind with everything from food to bedtimes! I hope everyone is well, take care, Happy New Year and I'll log on again in a few days.
Happy Kittyxxx
