Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

I'm hoping there's a 'top 100 embarrassing couples of 2011" type programme on TV, then it'll be me and DH and some kind of takeaway I should imagine :) Anything more 'special' and it'll be pants, NYE always is in those situations.

Sorry half my last message isn't there Confused unless I just dreamed posting it?

Congratulations kitty.

And green if they were really worried, they would have kept you in and possibly started you off right away, take it as a good sign ypur home.

We've been invited to a party for nye, but dd hasnt been sleeping very well and dh and I have been in bed this past week by 9pm as we've been so tired! So I think its going to be a film, takeaway and crappy tv, probably fall asleep at around 11pm and I'll be up again at 1. What an exciting life I lead!

BigHotMama · 31/12/2011 08:22

Meant to going to local social club for nye party but really don't feel up to it. Had a bad cold all week which has now turned into chesty cough and sore throat really feel horrid.

Anyone know any good remedies as feeling very sorry for myself today

shonnomanom · 31/12/2011 09:15

Congratulations wombat Thanks

And good luck today green

Iv had a feeling all pregnancy that this baby would be born this year. Quickly running out of time now aren't I?! Officially 40weeks tommorrow Shock

shonnomanom · 31/12/2011 09:22

My rubbish phone didn't show me half the messages - panto style booo!

bhm sorry your not feeling great. I recommend chocolate or cake or chocolate cake as a cheer me up. Doesn't help the cold though.

If I'm still awake we will just be in front of the telly. Hopefully the local hotel will do a fireworks display that we can watch from the kitchen window.
Tis my brothers birthday today so going over to spend some time with him today

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 31/12/2011 09:33

Morning all,

whoop whoop sleepy wombat. Congrats on the birth of felix. Lovely name xxx

zoe sounds like you are well on your way too.

Love the new thread title "corks a popping". Brilliant.

green hope you're ok love xxx

Strangely enough all my cramps have stopped again. I'm now beginning to think this is constipation rather than contractions. Everytime I have had these episodes I have not been to the loo for a couple of days, yesterday was the same. Went last night and fine today.

Slept like crap. Didn't sleep til 2am then was awake at my usual 6.30. Had a night full of anxiety dreams about dd. (she was worried yesterday and kept talking about not wanting her baby brother to die in my belly, she picked up on this from somewhere-god only knows) then I had horrible hospital flashbacks from being in triage. It's so weird, all the stuff I have had to deal with with my PTSD after dd's birth. For the most part i'm fine then an experience like yesterday which wasn't at all traumatic, just inconvenient brings it all back and I really struggle to "put away" the bad memories when they come, everything that comes back is to do with 3 things-the forceps attempts, being unable to move due to epidural while labouring and being unable to move afterwards due to c section. All my anxiety surrounds those things-being trapped and forced into positions I don't want to be in. My head was full of it last night. Feel emotionally quite drained today.

going to tidy like a madun today-mainly laundry needs sorting and putting away and the beds need changing. We'll have to food shop at some point too as DH has invited his best mate and his new GF over for lunch tomorrow. His best mate has been a bit of a cock at times since he's been single (divorced last year after 14 yr. She had an affair for 18 months) be nice to see how he is now he's in love again. I suppose i should posh it up a bit. I have veg soup ready made for starter, DH is roasting a chicken and I fancy doing some sort of cheesecake or something for pud.

Have a good day, beautiful women xxxx

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 31/12/2011 09:38

PS have updated stats to show birth of littlewombat

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 31/12/2011 09:46

Fish, fx that you're getting the anxiety out of the way now and that your next birth experience is very different for you.

We don't have NY plans either as DH was originally working. But I doubt I'll still be awake by midnight! I slept badly last night; must have still been excited from cakes's visit, and also had powerful HBs that woke me up a lot and were too strong to sleep through. A heat pack helped (that and asking poor DH to move to the other room so I could sprawl out in bed Blush). They're still going this morning but hopefully will ease off when I get up and move around. DH is making me breakfast in bed too. And thanks cakes, he is a good cook, I'm lucky!

Ooh and congrats wombat, what a fab name!

Nanny01 · 31/12/2011 09:58

Had a sleep in this morning what a nice surprise to wake to and hear one of the babies has arrived. We are madly tidying to clearing out dd2's room which was seriously bad and spilling out of her room.
Ghost I have had a few of these contractions lately to but it appears that our little one is staying put so dh will have to wait for his paternity leave to start a little longer.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 31/12/2011 10:17

Nanny, I knew it wouldn't be just me! It's always worse in the night, just lying there wondering. I instantly start thinking 'crap, I haven't picked up my flip flops yet' etc!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 31/12/2011 10:35

Whoop whoop for the mini wombat Grin

Bit late getting up (8am Shock) then straight to waitrose and tip ( to ditch the cardboard from pram and crib that are now up Smile).

OH has manflu for the last few days - sounds v similar to what bhm has. We are done for the day. I don't think we will make it to midnight!

Mulledbee · 31/12/2011 15:31

Fish, hope the day is going better now x

Lovely news about sleepywombat! :)

I missed a phone call from my parents at 10am this morning and noticed at 11.30. I phoned back and they said 'oh we thought you were at the hospital as we couldn't get hold of you' Hmm

I've got 8 days till my due date and it could be up to 2 weeks after that. I don't think I can bear that kind of scrutiny for that long! Arghh!

DH and I are staying in tonight with board games and a nice dinner. Would usually go out but I feel too hefty. Hope you all have good evenings!

shonnomanom · 31/12/2011 15:49

So who wants their name in the paper?!

There is plenty of us having twinges and what not, some closer than others ( mz ) and some of us that just wish things would start.
So I wonder if any babies from this lovely thread will be the first born of 2012?! Hmm

rednosedreindeerhead · 31/12/2011 16:02

Hello ladies!!!
Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, and thanks for the concern upthread! it's much easier now for me to be active on FB - this is because of my phone/laptop issues - we have moved all the rooms around in the last couple of weeks and now my laptop only works in the spare room. Which is fine, but means I'm not on it as much. Probably better for me and my OH and the baby Grin My phone always seems to delete my posts on MN so I don't bother posting on it, whereas FB is much easier....

Anyway, boring old me.

I would like to add a massive WHOOP WHOOP to Wombat and Kittie - well done you guys and congratulations on the safe deliveries of your beautiful babies. So exciting!!!!!!!

I've had my own mini excitements in the last couple of days; after my OH finally recovered from his op we decided to tentatively try some bedroom action, and I immediately had loads of pain and contractions!!!!!! So 2 days ago i thought i was going into labour and started panicking a bit..... but it turned out to be nothing, just a couple of days of strong higgs bosons, and now i seem to be back to normal.... phew!!

Am not quite 37wks so am determined to hold on til then (2 days) otherwise I won't get my home birth - which is now looking on the cards!! Amazing! My hospital has been threatened with legal action by another couple, and now 4 women have suddenly been given independent midwives for their home births. Hmm I am just waiting for confirmation of mine now as well!! So happy! But really want the baby to stay in until I know for sure.....

So no more sex for me until i hit 37wks or have heard from my home midwife!! So it won't be me in the paper hopefully shon!!

Hope all you guys with strange leakings and annoying hospital visits are ok today and I wish you all a very happy new year!!!

xxx

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 31/12/2011 16:16

[waves at red]

Gosh, just ventured out to a local town - who knew waddling around could be so exhausting? I'm getting tired of the indignities of pregnancy - bring on the indignities of post-birth, I say! Wink

I really want a January baby for various reasons, but give it 12 hours or so and I'd be pretty happy for labour to start! Am feeling v heavy and waddly now and the HBs are still going, though less uncomfortable as I move around. I just can't get my head around the anticipation - it could be any time in the next 25 or so days that ppm arrives - I can't take this level of anticipation!!

DH is cooking tonight and I'm abusing his culinary skills to create the mighty mac and cheese - om nom nom. It will be from scratch but I think he's a bit offended that I haven 't asked for something a bit fancier! However this does mean he can have a bit of a meat fest by himself Grin. Foolishly, we didn't realise how busy/picked over the supermarket would be, so he's currently searching another supermarket for guacamole - who would have thought that all these people with all these parties would want guacamole, hmm?

Hope you all have lovely evenings, whatever your plans!

rednosedreindeerhead · 31/12/2011 16:21

we are having dinner cooked for us by a friend Grin doubt I'll make it to midnight though, especially since I'll be the one driving home!!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 31/12/2011 16:42

Hope everybody has a good evening. Smile

We just had our hospital tour. Nearly missed it - we forgot all about it until OH remembered it 15 mins before and we had to leg it over there!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 31/12/2011 17:13

Parsley, was it busy there, or were all the labouring ladies crossing their legs and hoping to make it until Jan? I wonder if there are presents for the new year babies like Christmas babies?

My MW centre was completely deserted for my tour in Christmas eve Grin

greenlady78 · 31/12/2011 17:43

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is well! Congrats Kitty and Wombat, such a wonderful feeling it must be to hold your little ones after such long wait! Smile Thanks

I spent one hour at hospital today (have to go in everyday to be monitored, blood tested, pee tested...and have a mahoosive bootle at home that I have to collect pee for the next 24 hours...eek!)

The big news: they have booked me in for an induction on Wednesday! I'm 37 weeks on Thursday, so it is all good! I'm sort of 'numb' but happy and am glad I am able to stay home till then and get everything organised.

Wishing everyone a fantastic New Year!!!!!

xxxxx

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 31/12/2011 17:52

DH and I are doing leftovers, Chinese takeaway and '100 most annoying people of 2011' - it's turning into a little NYE tradition of ours. I have, however, told him to have stern words with his son and tell him to GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WOMB.

I echo everything ghost said - I am done being pregnant.

OP posts:
ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 31/12/2011 17:54

Blimey greenlady that's a lot of weeing Shock

Still at least they have a plan for you and you have a date.

ghost it was pretty quiet tbh. Hardly anybody about. I reckon everybody was crossing their legs for 2012. Grin

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 31/12/2011 18:15

ooof my pelvis has given up the ghost today-I can barely walk. Back on the ole crutches for me i think.

JingleFryn · 31/12/2011 19:04

Hey ladies,
Been AWOL for a bit, but so excited to see the baby news! And more imminent by the sound of it. Can't believe you're all popping them out and I'm back to work on Tuesday! Ah well, my time will come.
Hope all of you who've been in and out of hospital are OK, and fish hope you're feeling more positive and happy about it all.
Wishing you all a happy new year! I'll be mostly lying no the sofa eating pizza. May have to celebrate at around 10 - no chance I'll stay awake any later than that. Have a good evening all!

shonnomanom · 31/12/2011 19:07

greenlady glad they let you home and are monitoring things. Wednesday is not too far away...

Sorry to hear your pelvis is being naughty fish, anychance it could be related to baby becoming more engaged? Rest up x

Im also done being pregnant! If only baby had stayed breech it would be here already and would also have a name.
Today iv been feeling incredibly uncomfortable and really didnt want to get dressed this morning. Was quite happy to be naked. But DF highlighted that clothes would be more appropriate on a trip to the supermarket and then to visit my brother. Neither would appreciate such a sight!

ghosteditor · 31/12/2011 19:46

Ouch.

That is all.
