Hope you don't mind the slight tweaking of the thread title :) I was feeling creative! Not that it matters, at this rate it won't last more than a week...!

thanks for your kind comments all.

cakes i feel exactly the same-i'm so fed up.

i keep having strong contractions but then they go away again. I could cry i'm so frustrated with just not knowing. I think it's starting the ones i had earlier were very real feeling and then as soon as I got home it all stopped.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 29/12/2011 15:43

It's knowing I potentially have another whole month that's killing me. I'm with you on the 'could almost cry' fish. Let's all howl together.

This won't cheer you up ladies but it cheered me up - my JL delivery arrived this afternoon and I now have a comfy office chair plus my crib and push chair OH says he'll put the crib together for me tomorrow afternoon. Once that's done we might actually be readyGrin

Right back to work so that I can actually start my ML on time. 5 working days to go Shock

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 29/12/2011 16:09

Hmmm note to self- when heavily pregnant sitting on chair with wheels not a good idea to see if it is comfy when you put your feet up on a Swiss ball Hmm

I've now wedged the Swiss ball up against something and my dignity is restored Grin

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 29/12/2011 18:41

Parsley that did cheer me up. :)

Feckin hell I have been having massive braxtons all day, since soft play this morning. they stopped for 2 hours this aft then started again.

I am exhausted from them. Just had a hot bath to try and calm or escalate them. God only knows. Strong, but irregular and not really "painful" slightly periody in feeling, very tight tummy. Combined with pains up my fanjo and bum.

I wish i had a midwife i could call to come out and chek me over without schlepping off to triage just to see whats going on. I'm not worried-I just want someone to tell me if this it the real thing or not.

Oeisha · 29/12/2011 19:09

Oh, I do hope it's everything kicking off fish.
Triage are likely to tell you to stay at home, take paracetamol and rest unless the pains are accompanied by anything else, or are happening every 3-5mins...or that's what the MW told us about a billion times on our tour of the unit.

Abi's been giving me period pains. But nothing rhythmical, just THERE. Consultant didn't mention anything about my cervix at the scan, so I assume it's just missyface causing them when she wiggles her head rather than dilation.

parsley Grin. Hehehe.

What is it about dinner I find so repulsive. Doens't matter what it is, how large/small it is etc. I just feel a lot more grim at this time of day, but need to eat regular-like.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 29/12/2011 19:51

oh-and if the pains and rib flare and tiredness and indigestion and the "will he/wont he" feelings weren't enough I have two huge blistery painful mouth ulcers on the right side of my tongue.

Humph!

Apologies for the self indulgence.

On the good news side of things I have made my aromatherapy labour blend. used up the last of my precious Jasmine Absolut combined with clary sage and lavender. It smells divine. Going to get dh to massage my back in a bit. It may messing with the oils last night that kicked off these pains today. But i'm ok with that if it is.

FrillyMilly · 29/12/2011 19:58

Hello just checking in. This thread moves so fast I havent had chance to catch up properly.

fish I feel a lot like you. Period pains and back cramps a long with really strong regular HBs. I was awake most of the night with them but it didn't amount to anything. I seem to have them every 10/15 minutes for a few hours then they just disappear. Had a hot curry today but just feel sick now.

addictediam · 29/12/2011 20:09

Evening all, I went and had my hair cut today, first time in 2 years! On the way home I thought I'd take a detor and fill the car up with petrol. Except I didn't quite have enough petrol to get to the station and broke down in the middle of a duel carrageway (lucky on the left hand side) had hardly any phone signal and was so stressed started getting very painful cx every 2-3 minutes, I was convinced i was going to give birth on my own in the road. Thankfully I managed to get hold of dh and he came to my rescue! Still having very painful cx but now 1 every hour or so.

On the up side I'm in love with my new swishy bouncy hair, the rest of me may look like a baby hippo bit my hair is gorgeous!

Oeisha · 29/12/2011 20:09

Oh, that blend sounds lovely fish. for the other stuff though.
I'm tired, headachey, indigestioney, frustrated and generally pregnant, but I actually feel I'm getting away quite lightly with it.

Remind me next time Missyface has a quiet patch, to drink some Dr P. I took it to try and ease a headache and she went a weeee bit mental...

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 29/12/2011 20:24

fish - I discovered a new bottle of ylang ylang the other day - yay! Is it any good with lavender and/or geranium which I also found? I doubt it'll do much towards labour (it's aphrodisiac, isn;t it?) but I do so love the smell...

Hope you are moving towards labour - am going to be hideously jealous if so and will definitely send DH out for some clary sage!!!

addicted - glad you didn't end up with a roadside baby!

gah, just realised I have had no nutrients today - all empty calories. Must do better tomorrow... except all fruit and veg seems to give me heartburn atm Oh dear.

Mum2be79 · 29/12/2011 20:25

I AM BEING INDUCED TOMORROW!!!

Went for my scan. Still losing fluid. But because I'm close to 40 weeks the consultant thought it would be a good idea to start me off with a 'stretch and sweep' IT FUCKING HURT LIKE HELL!!! Sorry for the language and if that frightens anyone. They said I shouldn't get bright red blood but guess what - am bleeding. So off for a bath (my cramps are intensifying and my tummy is going hard) to see if the bleeding stops. If not, I'm ringing them at 10pm.

Shitting myself!!!

Mulledbee · 29/12/2011 20:36

Hello all and welcome to Peanuts! :)

I'm so not good on early mornings. I woke up at 4.30 ish and I've been almost no use all day. We had friends round for dinner and I mananged to make a lasagne for lunch but that was pretty much it for the day. Don't know how I'm going to be when the baby gets here if this is a couple of nights of poor sleep!

Fish I hope your sister is ok. Coventry is my home town - I was born in the Coventry hospital. I like the town but I'm pleased I don't live there now.

Addicted, pleased that you didn't give birth on the side of a road! Grin

I'm very excited for those of you who have symptoms of possible labour starting, it won't be long till our first thread baby!

addictediam · 29/12/2011 20:36

Mum2be it sounds like things are startinh for you. How exciting, good luck.

Oeisha · 29/12/2011 20:37

Sorry for x-post addicted. Hehe, thank goodness DH was available!

m2b EEEK! Grin EXCIIIIITTTIIIINNNNNGGGG!!! Here's hoping things progress quickly for you! Grin.

Thinking of getting in some clary sage for baths (mixed with milk if my memory serves)...would that be of any use??? Not desparate to have Abi out, but DH is beginning to get fractious about it...wouldn't start it 'til next week.

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 29/12/2011 20:38

Blimey mum2be Shock

Fx it's started on its own!

Oeisha · 29/12/2011 20:38

Ah, god dammit, twice, sorry addicted...

Mulledbee · 29/12/2011 20:38

X-posts: Wow Mum2be! Exciting!

If they said you should get bright red blood and you're having a reasonable amount though I would phone them sooner and ask for advice.

You'll have a baby in 2011!!

Oeisha · 29/12/2011 20:38
Wormshuffler · 29/12/2011 20:51

Eeek! how exciting! m2b, now remember, we need telling about everything first ok, never mind telling your rellies! we are more improtant Grin and we expect updates between contractions!! All the best xxxxx

Nothing had changed at scan, still higher than is ideal umbilical flow resistance. The right amount is going through, but body having to work harder to get it there. Water still high but not dangerously. So I am still all systems go for elcs next thursday. So this time next week I should definately have a baby!! I had all my pre op bloods taken today and mrsa swabs too. I have tablets to take one the night before and one at 6am. Its all feeling very real now.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 29/12/2011 20:53

oiesha Clary sage is lovely for baths-yes it's ok to mix with milk if you want to but if it's just you in the bath it shouldn't cause any irritation of the skin max-6 drops.-the milk was if you wanted to use it in the birthing pool. sometimes minute drops of oil can float on the water and as baby gets pulled up to surface those drops can cause irritation to the eyes and or skin.

Ylang Ylang is quite a good labouring oil too-it's closely related to Jasmine in it's chemical make-up mixed with lav for the beginning just to ease and relax or with geramium it would be a nice oil for balancing out things when it gets a bit intense-like in transition or similar.

mum2 exciting stuff.

bee My sis lives in rugby now-but cov is her local I think.

Can you believe my useless fecking BIL would get up and let her rest after her ordeal last night, i know he was in the hospital with her last night too but he slept il 11 am this morning and let he get up with thier 3 yr DS. Even though she had that fall, and shes the pregnant one. I spoke to him briefly tonight and all he did was moan about how tired he was and laugh off all the "fuss and nonsense". I really do hate him at times. And later on today the only way she managed to get a nap was because the son went to sleep. Why couldn't BIL take him out for a couple of hours and let her have some peace. He's tired because he's got to go back to work on tuesday. GRRRRR

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 29/12/2011 20:56

Omg it's all go! How exciting m2b!!!

Glad to hear there are no roadside babies too! Did your hair survive the roadside weather?

I'm into day ten of HBs I think! Tends to be worse in the evening or if I'm moving around a lot. Am assuming I'm just sensitive to the sensation; hope it doesn't mean I'm a big wuss! I always thought that sweeps sounded scary; sorry to hear it's verified Sad

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 29/12/2011 21:01

I think I'd been told to avoid clary sage - is that just prior to 37 weeks then? May indulge in January if that's the case. My MW recommended camomile - please tell me that's ok as I've just bought some today and it wasn't cheap! I also heard that a few drops of tea tree oil on maternity pads post birth was relieving so have bought that too...

Mulledbee · 29/12/2011 21:05

Wormshuffler: not long for you either, how exciting! :)

Fish: in not surprised you're angry at your BIL. How unsupportive and lazy. Angry

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 29/12/2011 21:09

OK - I would NOT recommend neat tea tree oil anywhere near genitals. Seriously. Once did it mistakenly thinking it would help with thrush. It burned. For ages.

And yes, the clary sage prohibition is pre-term only.

I don;t know much about camomile but haven;t heard anything dangerous - fish?

I'm going to go make myself a ylang ylang and lavender mix - yummy. My fave smells.
