ffnorm - there are other choices surely? or is the distance prohibitive? or you could hire your own MW/ doula to take with you/ have a homebirth....

tbh i am ignoring the news at the moment as it just is upsetting.

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:44

jars no....

really??

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 19:47

Jars I have heard its a load of rubbish. I read that she is due in june but knows its a girl [hhmm]

But if it is true then Kate should join us, if she hasn't already. Oh and do not steal my name choices Grin

Carty80 · 27/10/2011 20:01

Evening all, hope everyone is relaxing and not feeling too rubbish!

Morning sickness has hit full force last 2 days and its horrible! Keep thinking, at least its a good sign that baby is in there but ugh, hard going with DC. Agree, this baby needs carbs! Trying to get fruit in too but cheesy chips earlier were a lot nicer! Bananas are making me gag as with last pregnancy and meat is starting to not look so tasty!

Welcome to everyone new, can't believe a thread is almost full. My stats are fine until scan.

I have told all my family and 3 close friends, one of whom I wanted to tell so I could get all her baby stuff before she sold it! Agree, I would want those people to know if anything went wrong so didn't see the harm in telling them now but am trying to keep it quiet from most people although the ever expaning belly will give it away in the next few weeks!

Have booked an IM for my HB, we used her with last DC and it was so lovely that we are starting to save up now and we can pay her in instalments, we will have to put in some extra hours to pay for it but for us, its worth it.

Think I am going to call it a day. Night all. xx

Carty80 · 27/10/2011 20:04

jars Really? Can't be true, can it?!

ffnorm · 27/10/2011 20:04

True Dionysia - just a shock when I turned on the news... it's also a long way off, things could change.A friend of mine delivered in a hospital that was under review a few years back and by the time she was delivered it was fab as they had put so many measures/recommendations in place.

Of course Kate is due in June - the perfect gift to the Queen to supply a great grand child on the Golden jubilee [hwink]

ffnorm · 27/10/2011 20:06

Sorry I think it's actually Diamond jubilee [hgrin]

ellybett · 27/10/2011 20:10

Hi ladies. Is there room for one more (not so tiny) June-to-be? Got a +ve clear blue digi on Sunday after a few months of trying so feeling a bit shell shocked at the moment, especially since physically I don't feel pregnant really. Except for the boobs, which hurt and have obviously got bigger in a matter of days as I don't fit in my bridesmaids dress for my best friends wedding next Friday, eek! I'll add myself to the list. Looking forward to the journey with you all!

Welcome Ellybett

Carty80 · 27/10/2011 20:15

Your right ff diamond jubilee, good point! She would have timed that to perfection if true! Grin

Welcome elly and congratulations!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 20:20

Well my mum has four, dp is one of five, gps have 3 or more so not sure why they're so obsessed with us 'settling' for two, yes I'm extremely lucky to have a son and a daughter but having them SO close together means it was a bit of a blur.

And all dcs books have mummy, daddy, brother, sister and the baby Grin all we need now is a dog haha

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 20:22

Welcome Elly Congratulations.

bagofsnakes · 27/10/2011 20:54

Very excited to be part of this group - god know it's been a long time coming! Due 16th of June and absolutely figgin' delighted :) Am a little less delighted with the constant burping - is that here for good? Tres unladylike. Living outside of the UK at the moment, a long way from family and friends so was hoping to find people to chat to and compare horribly embarrassing symptoms with. So, I am very much in need of a proper cup of tea, I have the fixings but medical opinion here (in the US) says 'no caffeine' - miserable beggars. What do UK midwives/doctors say?

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 20:56

Can I add congratulations to all newbies.... :)

Veggie Chilli with rice and yoghurt salad was lovely. 15 minutes later DS was fetching glasses of water as I spewed my guts out :) 2 minutes later was craving club sandwiches with fries -- it must be another boy.
I have come into bed shivering and will watch a movie sat up in bed 'pillowfied' as if I were 35 weeks +.

I think i'll need to spill the beans. OH doesn't have anything to say really -- maybe being out at work all day and calling me on the phone for me to have just puked and be moany is not terribly exciting but i dont particularly feel like getting my party frock on either!!!

Oh bollocks.

Thanks for letting me rant. I need to watch a good movie now and sip on my ice drink. And wonder what random snacks will keep popping up in my head...damn french fries, salty ones, buttery toast, fruit salad ....

FORGOT Congrats the nice replies given by family members :) My DF and MIL are going to ask why we didn't use contraception guaranteed!

thedogwalker · 27/10/2011 21:04

My stats are correct. Can't believe we've nearly filled a thread already. Had bad morning sickness tonight. I've had waves of brief nausea before but tonight had the full on sickness feeling without actually being sick. I'm sure being sick would allieviate the problem. I didn't have any of this with DS, so hoping this time it's a girl, well I can hope. DH and I have already been thinking of names, but have nothing definite yet. Will wait until we find out the flavour. Hope everyone is feeling better than me. Take care xx

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 21:05

bagofsnakes UK midwives say the same. Well not no caffeine but limit to 1-2 cups of tea or 1 coffee etc

karron · 27/10/2011 21:11

Not really being sick but feel sick most of the time. Only time I feel better is when I'm eating but as soon as I stop feel rubbish again. So if continues should be 3 times the size I am now by the end of the pregnancy...don't remember it being this bad last time so am becoming convinced it's twins! Worst bit this end is how tired I feel, am feeling pretty [hshock] about the clock change next week as not sure how I'll cope.

biglips · 27/10/2011 21:11

is anyone absolutely freezing all the time???? as ive been freezing for the past 2 weeks. ive been wearing about 3 layers of clothings to try and keep me warm. Even my nose is falling off!! lol

karron · 27/10/2011 21:14

Me too keep stealing the duvet of the bed to sit under but then at night am boiling hot. Go figure

biglips · 27/10/2011 21:18

yeah thats me too as im totally boiling in the middle of the nite which wakes me up and shivering all day long. was never like this with the others and now im off to bed as dd2 had me up since 5am and my head is pounding....nites all Smile

bagofsnakes · 27/10/2011 21:30

Kayzr - thank you for that. 1-2 cups of tea is a massive improvement on 'you must forsake all caffeinated beverages'. I'm going with UK advice, I trust the NHS. Putting the kettle on as soon as I post this... well as soon as I finish this snack, got to keep snacking, right?

I also seem to have lost the ability to regulate my temperature, but I'd take the shivers and the sweats over the burps any day.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 21:36

Welcome and congratulations to all our new comers.

What a lovely thread we have building Grin I hope it continues.

I'm cold, then hot, then freezing, then boiling, then fine!

I'm living in jumper dresses with vest underneath and a chunky cardi when needed. Got seriously overheated at pils tod, they have a massive real fire and I went weird and dizzy and scuttled off to bed, which is luckily the attic room so I threw open the windows and cooled off.

Been starving so had a sausage sandwich and now feel very sick

ellybett · 27/10/2011 21:38

Thank you for the welcome! It's lovely to come here with my massive secret burning away in my brain and be able to see that every one feels the same as me! Have only told my dad and p-i-ls at mo but I'm bursting to share the news!

Even though I'm in desperate need of a good caffeine boost I have gone off tea again which is the same thing that happened last time. Devastated as I am usually a tea queen but the smell of milk in it does not work for me! No MS or nausea, just can't drink tea! In fact I seem to have gone off drinks except for water. Wierd.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 21:39

bag I burped my way through my last two pregnancies amongst the acid reflux and heartburn.

Making this seem such fun aren't I [hgrin]
