My stats are ok. I wonder how many threads we'll go through before the babies arrive.

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 17:07

hello again girls,

I've just done the online grocery shop but for what? am not sure? Fruit, fruit, elderflower cordial, soda/fizzy water - crisps - veg, fruit no meals which means cooking from scratch which doesn't seem to be happening much here hmmm! But also seem to be 'fruiting' a lot.

I've booked an early scan I've always had one at 7 weeks many reasons and this time after last year's m/c I want to be sure.

Miss LAL -- also clog up the board lol, but no one seems to mind. Its a bit like my personal online diary!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 17:10

My stats are fine, until a dating scan atleast.

Just told my mum, she said, "are you joking" that was it, nothing else :( her husband said congratulations atleast.

Brightonstarfish · 27/10/2011 17:40

Hi Ladies, do you mind if I join you, sorry a bit late!!

Am due the 9th of June, its my first, no symptoms and disappointedly no cravings yet! not really sure what I was expecting!! LOL!

Have my first midwife appointment next week, but doesn't sound like a scan or anything, really have no idea what to expect, so any second timers it would be great to hear!

Have girlfriends with youngsters, but hubby and I have taken the decision not to tell anyone until we get the all clear which has left me feeling a little isolated so it would be brilliant to chat with everyone on here.

Congratulations to everyone

xxx

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 17:45

Brightonstarfish Welcome and congratulations!! Grin With both of my pregnancies the first appointment consisted off telling MW family history, stuff like asthma, diabetes etc. Then MW took my blood and tested my urine. Thats all that really happened.

I am not looking forward to weeing into a pot every 4 weeks.

So any ideas on the name of the new thread?

Brightonstarfish · 27/10/2011 17:53

Thanks Kayzr, was secretly hoping that it would include a scan - alas I will have to be patient....

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 27/10/2011 17:54

Congrats to the folk that have had scans - I'm jealous as I don't even have a midwife appt yet!

My stats are fine also.

Well, thought today was looking good as wasn't too tired this morning, but it's been the worst day so far for nausea. Started to get bad about 9.30am and didn't really improve until 3.30pm - no actually being sick, just feeling really nauseous. Yuk.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 27/10/2011 17:54

Forgot to say - welcome Brighton!

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 17:58

It might do Brighton I know people that have had scans at their booking in appointment but they don't do it here.

Is it bedtime yet? I want to go to sleepShock. I've decided to use Shock as a yawn smiley Grin

Brightonstarfish · 27/10/2011 17:59

thanks seriouslystrongcheddar have you tried lucozade for your nausea? Was checking online earlier and it doesn't have much caffeine in it, but apparently very good for morning sickness :) I am relying on it getting me through the cold I am currently fighting, unless anyone else has any remedies that can help?

Florin · 27/10/2011 18:46

Evening everyone. Nausea has starting kicking in for me, not actually been sick but feeling really rough. I feel miserable but also makes me feel like it's a good sign pregnancy going ok. Can't wait till my next scan on Friday. According to a interactive pregnancy calculator that dh found on the Internet once you see the heart beat your risk of miscariage goes down significantly (in my case down to 5%) so if that scan is ok I think I can feel a bit more like this pregnancy is really happening.

Dalrymps · 27/10/2011 19:10

My stats are fine Smile

I tend to just put honey in my tea if I have a cold when pg, I'm sure it helps. Also paracetamol if things are real bad..

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:12

No MW here yet...

plenty of sickness

though i have a minging cold too...kids on diet of cbeebies and fishfingers until further notice...

openerofjars · 27/10/2011 19:13

Envy at healthy milk and fruit: this embryo wants carbs, fat and salt. In that order. Now.

I had a lovely hot milk made for me by DH last night and I tried so hard not to bring it up again, I did. Fruit is getting easier, though, but not brilliant. Cheese is a bit gross. Vegetables are sometimes okay and sometimes the work of Satan.

I am comforting myself that at least the blob will take what it needs from my system, and that multi-vitamins will fill in the gaps.

When is everyone else going to tell their families? We are trying to wait but MIL1 (complicated families due to divorces in the 1980s & 1990s) isn't thick and I nearly passed out when she was here last weekend. Last time we were going to wait to tell her but she asked us to help her move a shed...

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:15

as soon as i have a confirmed due date I wil change it...it could bump me back to May (i'm hoping, i am rather jaded when it comes to pregnancy, and...less is more..)

welcome starfish - you live near me :)

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:17

does anyone elses husband/OH smell? mine smells appalling. i'm sure he didn't always smell like that...(otherwise i wouldn't be in this condition, for sure)

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:19

kazr - do you have paper cups in your house? or one of those little xmas pudding bowls? makes it much easier to catch. i can't wee into a tube (especially as my wee seems to come out in all different directions as soon as i get the tiniest bit pregnant)

my daughter finds watching me do this hilarious.

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 19:22

I have a little plastic bowl I used for the pregnancy tests. So I could use that. I wish I had thought of it with the 1st 2.

ffnorm · 27/10/2011 19:25

Welcome Brighton

MillyV - when I was pg with DS,I went off tea (normally a teaholic) and drank loads of milk, ate cheese and yogurt and craved all kinds of puddings that involved custard and cream,in short was a dairy queen Smile

Has anyone seen the news?? Managed to move so that my closest hospital is Queens,Romford... Hmm

Kveta · 27/10/2011 19:28

I told my mum today - she was giving me a bollocking for telling my grandmother that sister had been ill (it was apparently up to dad to tell her, family politics, ffs) so told her DH and I are expecting again to shut her up :o worked a treat :o she's thrilled though, and said June birthdays are the best (we have 3 feb, 1 june, 1 sep and 1 nov birthday in our family, so I trust her on this!!). this will only be her 3rd grandchild, so it's still a bit of a novelty!!

I'm going with the mentality that if I lost this baby, I would tell certain people - so might as well tell them now! will tell the rest of family once scan is done though.

I think the next thread should be 'June 2012 - shouting down the great white telephone with joy' judging by all the sickness!! :o or technicolour yawns of excitement.

just managed to keep down a small plate of pasta and a small bowl of vanilla ice cream and tinned peaches, so hope I get some sleep tonight!!

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 19:30

ffnorm I haven't seen any news?

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:33

agree kveta..

i've told lots of people already, cos if i did M/C, i would have to explain why i was so down to them...so better to have the support.

not MIl though :P

ffnorm · 27/10/2011 19:35

It's under review and basically the report says it gives shocking care particularly in Maternity...but they are still planning to go ahead and close King Georges (the next closest)and murge the 2 Maternity depts...

Dionysia · 27/10/2011 19:38

JJ - too bad about your Mum - . i think in the case of my MIl she had two kids so she doesn't see why anyone else should have more ...(also she was gutted about not having a girl, when i have two.)....some people just can't see past their own ishoos and be happy for others.

well done from me anyway. i loved having three kids in a relatively short time period, and they loved it too. lots of work though that is hardly anyone elses problem!

openerofjars · 27/10/2011 19:39

There is a royal June rumour... Wink
