Hello Ladies, congratulations to you all :) I am currently 8 weeks with dc number 2, my DS is 5 and we are all very excited. I had a lovely pregnancy with ds but am suffering from severe nausea and fatigue this time. My due date is June 5th. I look forward to chatting to you all over the coming months :)

thedogwalker · 26/10/2011 19:51

Hi all, not been on for a few days, sooo busy at work. Well I've managed to change my medical centre, as with the last one, I fell in a midwifery gap and they said I could see them at the medical centre but that they wouldn't do any home visits not even after baby is born. So changed surgerys, told them honestly why and they accepted me, now got to wait for midwife to contact me for my booking in appointment but at least I can now get a full service Smile.
Welcome all the newbies, please add your stats to the ever growing list. Take care everyone xx

dog walker, that is lousy: good change. I didn't know you could be refused care like that!

StarlightMcKenzie · 26/10/2011 20:31

Hi Bumple,

A good friend of mine had a surprise pregnancy and she and her bf were horrified as they had a great social life. She said to me 'what if you were looking forward to a party and your child got sick a you couldn't go?'

I didn't have children at that point so just sympathied.

A few years later I was expecting my own child and asked about this. She looked at me in shock and said to me sternly 'Starlight, if your child is ill you'll not be wanting to go to any party!'

And she's right. Your priorities change.

I think I am having quads or something!!! I've just been sat nicely on the sofa watching the football. Nothing interesting and then I had this weird sensastion that felt like those first fluttering movements you get.

I assume it is my uterus stretching or something but it has never felt like this in my other pregnancies.

Strange Hmm

ffnorm · 26/10/2011 21:21

Hey Everyone - pleased to say I'm back!!! Sky has turned on our internet at last,so I'll be around much more Grin

Just spent ages catching up on all the thread news (we're soon going to be onto thread #2!!!)

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Had my registering appointment at the GP today - so also got my maternity referral done.Ironically last week I tried to self refer and the person who answered the self referal no told me to get referred by my GP. So why have a self referral phone no?????

Starting to find my way around the new area we moved to and the commute to work is not as bad as I thought it would be,so feeling positive when not completely exhausted Smile

Sooo finally home from the pils, finally had a nice long talk to dp :) things are better :) we even discussed names... Too early I know!
Anyone else thought about them yet?

Still on and off nausea, but its a little better

growyourown77 · 26/10/2011 22:34

Hi all! Thought I'd join this one as well as a june one on the pregnancy boards, hope there's room for one more! :)

I'm on baby no1, six weeks in, so early doors yet, due 22 June. Excited though, but taking one week at a time.

I'll echo seriouslystrongchedddar on the weight issue front. I didn't really have any before, but with the prospect of my body changing shape and size I feel more conscious of it. I'm keeping the yoga going though, but modifying the moves and trying to resist the temptation to gorge on the choc be brought back from Belgium!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 26/10/2011 23:33

Welcome growyourown :)
Congratulations.

How's everyone feeling tonight, I've just had an epic panic over taking some painkillers but thanks to mumsnet wisdom I'm ok now. Boobs are extra achey tonight, nausea is on and off. As is tiredness, seems I'm shattered all day and wide awake at bed time, annoying!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 27/10/2011 06:39

Welcome growyourown - same due date as me, 'til scans adjust things!

Slept well last night, but still tired this morning - hey ho, guess that'll be the way of things for a while! Hope I have less of the aching / crampy feeling today - that was most annoying yesterday.

Hope everyone has a good day today!

misslaughalot · 27/10/2011 08:13

ecstatica thanks for the advice (although I should have pointed out that I'm a veggie so chicken's off the menu for me anyway). Had a lovely evening, and the topic of babies did rear its head but I found staying quiet quite easy strangely.
A better night's sleep for me last night too, makes all the difference in the morning. Still no symptoms though, in a weird way I wish I felt sick as it would make this all more real.
How's everyone else doing today?

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 08:20

Morning girls,
LOL MissLAL MY OH is a vegetarian and I rarely eat meat/chicken at all maybe I wasn't missing out as much as I thought I was -- it just didn't taste 'nice'. Glad u had a great evening, sets u up for the next day.

Jj - that's good -- let us know any names you come up with. I will probably start thinking overtime come 20wk scan.

Good night's sleep here just early 4.45am start as DS2 who fell asleep in my bed at 8pm needed to cough and tell me all about it and woke me again when i finally got back to sleep :) won't complain, things will be very different one day soon (God willing) and then we'll know about ity

What you all up to today?

Dalrymps · 27/10/2011 08:56

Morning allSmile Ok nights sleep for me. Could get to sleep till 2am due to being too hot and ds2 waking and coughing a few times. Once I got to sleep it wasn't too bad though.

I'm 8 weeks today

Just trying to eat my breakfast before I vom.

Had a few mint creams last night and I didn't feel sick for a while after. Could only manage to eat two and a half before I was minted out though. Not sure if it was them or the amount of mashed potato I ate with my teaHmm will continue to experimentGrin

Fubble · 27/10/2011 09:19

Morning all - aren't we such a busy group? I find by the time I've caught up on everyone's posts I can't remember what I came on to say!

Exciting news here - had an early scan yesterday - saw baby's heartbeat! Cannot explain the relief we felt after our mmc in June.
My midwife is a friend of mine, and after feeling sick as a dog all last week, symptoms just disappeared at the weekend. So after panic set in, I spoke to her and she, thankfully, was able to arrange an appt at the EPU.

definitely feeling a little less worried now, and am starting to actually look ahead and get excited about being pregnant, after 8 weeks of not getting my hopes up.

Of course, DD (nearly 2) decided to tell us last night she didn't want any babies in our house :) Can't win 'em all!

Hope everyone is doing well - it's nearly Friday :)

misslaughalot · 27/10/2011 09:30

Fubble that's amazing! I'm so jealous of anyone who's getting their scan already Envy it just feels like time is passing soooooooo slowly at the moment. Must stop being so impatient Blush
Getting a bit of cramping this morning, hoping that's a good thing and shows my body's adjusting?

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 09:39

Morning all!

Best nights sleep ever, being back in my own bed obviously did the trick :)

We've decided if pud is a girl we shall name her Lily June, my grandma was called Lilian June and passed away last year, she was the most important person in my life and my best friend. I also quite like Noah for a boy :)

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 09:46

Fubble - WoW!!!! So exciting :) Yipeeeee

Lovely names JJ I like Noah for a boy too very good picks there.

Just having a quick cleaning break.... ;-)

Dalrymps · 27/10/2011 10:15

fubble lovely news Grin

jj really nice names. We're not sure for a girl, used to like Evie but seems too popular nowHmm Dh likes Harrison for a boy.. We need to think of some more options to ponder I thinkSmile

Kveta · 27/10/2011 10:33

that's great Fubble! I've got to wait until Monday, and if I haven't heard from the hospital, I can call them to make an appointment. booked my flu jab to, so 2 weeks yesterday will be getting it - has everyone else booked theirs yet?

feeling sick again today, so although it's horrible, I also feel more secure about the bean! :)

DH and I have been discussing names - DS has the number 1 boys name for his year of birth, so we don't want anything too outlandish, plus it needs to work in Czech AND English. We liked Eduard and Emilie for a while, but now know far far too many of them locally, so we're a bit stumped. We have a potential girl's name (Amy) but absolutely zilch for a boy. Think we'll wait and see what flavour it is then do some serious arguing which I plan to win until we come up with a name! :o

DS was cuddling my tummy yesterday and started talking to it; it's as if he knows! He is being utterly adorable at the moment, keeps coming up to me and tilting his head to one side and going 'cuddles mummy?' then wrapping his arms round me like a little monkey and giving me a soggy toddler kiss he somewhat spolied the effect by waking up at 4 this morning, but never mind. Can't have everything, can you?!

growyourown77 · 27/10/2011 10:33

Misslaughalot - I know what you mean about being impatient (it's my worst trait! :)). I have my booking in appt on 17th Nov and scan on 9 Dec and it can't come soon enough. Luckily we have a holiday coming up too, so I'm going to throw myself into web research for nice places to eat to pass the time!

Fubble - congrats on your scan, that's so exciting!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 10:38

I'm useless I haven't even moved GP since moving, which I will do NOW as I need to book in and have flu jab! I am mrs disorganised lol.

Shopping today with my mum and aunty, going to be SO hard not to say anything! Wish me luck and strength to stay away from tiny baby things [hgrin]

openerofjars · 27/10/2011 10:53

Morning all! Congrats on your scan, Fubble, that's fab news. I've got another 3.5 weeks until mine but I'm sure it'll pass quickly enough: we have all sorts if fun things like bonfire night & DS's 3rd birthday in-between now and then.

Anyone else out of breath a lot? I teach in adult ed and keep having to sit down for a breather instead of walking around the classroom. Plus, I nearly threw up on my class just now. Thank god for extra strong mints.

misslaughalot · 27/10/2011 10:59

openerofjars Yes!! I'm out of breath quite a bit, but just thought I was unfit. I just had to answer the door and when I came back upstairs I felt quite bad. Thankfully I work from home most of the time so there's nobody around to notice!
