I've struggled with breathlessness at the pils. Our rooms on the third floor, it was totally knocking it out of me and never has before, makes me feel all limp and pathetic.

SarahBumBarer · 27/10/2011 11:14

Morning all. 5 weeks today. Rubbish! Feel like the baby of the class. I'm going to get so impatient as some of you are so far ahead of me and starting to do proper preganancy things Envy! I actually wish I didn't know. It would be lovely to be one of those people who do not find out until about 10/11 weeks.

I like Esteban for a boy. DH says absolutely not. He's probably right. He also says that it has to be a name which will not get the child beaten up in an Australian playground. So Bruce then? Hmm Feel we may have a long way to go on the negotiation front.

SarahBumBarer · 27/10/2011 11:15

PS - I'm half joking (but still half serious) about Esteban.

ffnorm · 27/10/2011 11:46

Morning all.
DS down for a nap,so I've got into bed with the laptop - guilty pleasure Smile Should try get a little nap in myself as completely nackered at the moment!! And back at work tomorrow and Sat.
7 weeks today - yay!!!

Sarah Esteban could work depending on your last name and it's not common... Are you in or planning to move to Aus?Otherwise your DH point is a bit mute Smile We need to revisit names as DH seems to want to use the leftover names from last time.

Miniangel · 27/10/2011 11:47

Hello all. I have been extremely sick to the stage where water was coming up as well, haven't been able to go to work for the last few days. Started having cramps as well so went to the EPU today and got an early scan. I am 6 weeks +2 days today. Could see the lil one and the heartbeat was there as well. I am so relieved and happy. All the sickness disappered and I suddenly felt that it's all worth it.

For people living in London - St. George's hospital in Tooting have a walk in EPU (8.30-11.00 Mon- sat)where you can get an early scan , no questions asked.

Miniangel · 27/10/2011 11:51

Thought I will revise my due date on the basis of the scan.
Florin we are due on the same date. The coincidence and similarities are gobsmacking.

misslaughalot · 27/10/2011 12:39

miniangel AFAIK I'm 6 weeks + 2 days today also! Don't want to add myself to the list of stats until I've had all of this confirmed by someone else...so far a pink line on a pregnancy test is all I have to tell me this is real, and it's just not enough! It must have been so amazing to see your little bean and the heartbeat, incredible!

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 12:55

Morning,

Congratulations to Fubble and Miniangel on your scans. I am feeling a bit jealous. My booking in appointment isn't until the 9th Nov and then I will have to wait for a letter to tell me my scan date.

Another rubbish night here, those Bachs flower remedy drops aren't working for me [hsad]

jj I love those names. Lily June is so sweet.

I absolutely give up with girls names. I have quite a few favourites but we can't pick one. Boys name is picked already.

Hope everyone is ok.

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 13:09

Congrats miniangel on the scan results...another yipee and excited for u too!

ffnorm -- plan to do the same, at least a little nap seeing as other two are staying with nanny one more sleep, hurray!

I couldn't wait for the hairdresser (and thought i'd save the 65quid) which is ridiculous, as i've gone from brown hair with copper/blonde highlights (roots were in dire need) to seriously dark blackish hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hands smell so badly of hair dye i keep doing pukey motions everytime i have a drink or put hand to face! Am not sure what OH is going to say tomorrow evening...no doubt there will be some 'funny' to do with halloween. Shit!

Esteban, very nice.

Who said something about out of breath in class? In my teaching days (stayed at school till 5months) it happened a lot and i remember a poor girl bringing out her tuna sandwich....need i say more....

growyourown77 · 27/10/2011 13:12

Out of breath, yes! I thought it was odd but thought it was just me. :) Walking up the stairs at work gets to me much more than it used to.

Kveta · 27/10/2011 13:42

god, i just brought up my lunch at work. seriously considering calling it a day, I only have 20 minutes to go until I normally leave. can't wait for the bloody scan though, so I can confirm that it is genuinely a baby and not just a few weeks of random nausea and vomiting!!

think DS will be watching yet more DVDs on an endless loop this afternoon, poor boy :(

Dalrymps · 27/10/2011 13:53

Aww kveta awful for you. Don't worry about ds, my ds's are watching episode after episode of Sponge bob square pantsGrin

Just do what you need to get through, the sickness will passSmile

Warlin · 27/10/2011 14:20

Hi All

I will be 7 weeks tomorrow (hopefully!). Had a bit of brown staining the ither night and totally panicked but haven't had any since thankfully. I hardly slept last night and when I did I dreamt we went for the scan and there was no heartbeat. Told the first of my friends last night as she is due in 4 weeks. Don't plan on telling anymore until after the scan but it's so hard to keep!

I haven't had an sickness thankfully (so far) but have felt a bit nauseous. I have really sore breasts though and they are huge! I am normally a c/d cup anyway but I now look like I've had implants! They are really firm and feel much bigger! Escpecially when I wake up in the morning. Has anyone else got this. I'm wearing a baggy top to work today to hide it...I'm still so bloated so I feel pretty crappy. And we have a work night out tmw which I really can't be bothered with and am going to have pretend to drink......

Just wish it were Christmas and I can start telling people and feel properly pregnant!

ecstatica · 27/10/2011 14:36

Starlight and Greengoose - hope you're both ok!

Warlin -- Hope ur work night goes ok and that maybe, it even takes ur mind off things.

DS is becoming too familiar with the Octonauts -- don't worry!!!

Back to eat work x

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 14:48

I've just been moaning to a friend about 12 week scan seeming so far away. She told me that both times she has been pregnant she went to EPU for an early scan at about 8 weeks. She lied to them and said she had been bleeding.

I felt so [hshock] at that. I couldn't do it, I'm sure many people do. But I couldn't make it up knowing that the rest of the people there were actualy going through bleeding etc.

Then I started crying after I had hung up. I must be pregnant if I just randomly cry at nothing.

growyourown77 · 27/10/2011 14:57

Although it's tempting to want an early scan, i think it's way more invasive than the regular ultrasound, so why would you want to?

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 15:09

The EPU here will only do normal ultrasounds, if they can't find anything then they send you to one of the big hospitals. At least they used too.

I had bleeding with DS2 and was told on the monday they couldn't scan me until the tuesday as they were full up. I feel a bit annoyed that someone who was actually bleeding and worried would be made to wait and someone who just wants to look is there.

I would love a scan at 8 weeks but I would pay for it if I wasn't going to wait. But I don't see the point when DP is away.

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/10/2011 15:21

Hiya,

Can everyone check their stats so that the OP of the next thread can have the stats in it so I don't have to keep scrolling all over the shop trying to place people [hgrin]

OP posts:
millyv · 27/10/2011 15:48

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of posts but it's been hectic!

My stats are correct, so ready for the next thread - can't believe we are on a second thread!

I agree with you kayzr I would feel so guilty knowing that there were women who really needed the scan if I'd lied. Spoke to my DH and mum about this and all agreed that unless we needed an early scan on medical grounds we'd wait until our scheduled ones. If you are that desperate to see you can always book private scans, also I had one of the early scans a few years ago and they aren't exactly the most pleasant of things to do, I personally would much rather wait until it's a scan through my tummy so that I can relax and enjoy it!

Congrats to people who have seen their beans already, you must feel fab! Has anyone named their bean yet - not their real name but a nick name?!

Symptom wise I am very lucky in that nausea hasn't hit me yet, although my boobs are boody huge and sore constantly! I've never really had big boobs before DH thought that all of his Christmas's and birthdays had come at once until I told him he could look but not touch! Also (sorry if it's TMI) but been having terrible wind Blush, literally non stop in the evenings and although I used to be regular as clockwork I am now finding it a struggle to go once every two days! Blush Blush!!

Also something odd, I hate milk - literelly have soya milk if we were out having coffee etc.. but this last week I have had a giant mug of cows milk hot chocolate every night before bed! At first when I fancied it I was quite scared incase it upset my stomach but I'm really enjoying it - very odd! Anyone else eating/drinking anything they didn't used to? I'm also eating a lot more carbs than previously!

Hopefully speak to you all soon! [hsmile]

X

MammaInTheMaking · 27/10/2011 16:01

My stats are fine :)

I'm with you millyv on the wind! Not like all the time, but definitely more. and a lot more burping Blush.

Well at the mo our bundle of hope and joy is called "Blubes". The reason being that at 7 weeks it's the size of a blueberry. DP came up with that name and has been telling it to grow grow grow. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and not sure what size it'll be, but Blubes is quite cute!

I'm very aware of how much MORE i'm eating so at work i try and limit all of my extra snacking to fruit. I've had a box of grapes several days in a row and usually have at least some other fruit during the day. Today i had raspberries and yesterday a banana. I keep reassuring myself that it's good snacking and good for the baby - i really don't want to put on a huge amount of weight but i DO need to keep munching. So hungry all the time! My other 'thing' at the moment is fruit bread. Am loving it toasted and with butter on. Actually there's a theme here isn't there....FRUIT!

misslaughalot · 27/10/2011 16:09

Ok, well all I've done today is worry! Is it going to be like this for the whole pregnancy?! I'm paranoid something is going to go wrong, that I'm not eating enough, that I'm eating too much, that I don't feel sick, just every little thing really! Waiting is not my strong point...
I've read through the May thread and it was great to see my thoughts written down by others, and the May mums are doing great. Might keep lurking on there to get a peek into our future.
I guess I'm just a bit overwhelmed (and simultaneously excited) that this is happening, and that it's just the very beginning of an extremely long journey!
Sorry for clogging up the board with my fretting, but until we tell people you're my ears!!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 16:09

I'm refering to this one as pud dd was always bean (hence nn) and ds was baby until 18wks when he became who he still is today!

TeaandHobnobs · 27/10/2011 16:42

Poor Kveta, hope you've managed to head home now. Sorry to hear of the discomfort Warlin and millyv - I really sympathise!

I've had another day like last Thursday, only it didn't hit until I was in the office. After an hour of gritting my teeth against the pain, and hiding in the loo contorting myself into all sorts of positions to try and get it to abate, I decided heading home was the only option. My colleagues must wonder what the hell is wrong with me - mystery Thursday illness! I feel bad for not telling them, but I can't face it yet. Got home, went to bed, wailed in pain for quite a while (I'm so pathetic), managed to take a paracetamol, threw up, felt better Smile and went to sleep for a couple of hours. Pretty sure it is still trapped wind, but I can't believe it can really cause me this much pain Sad

misslaughalot I feel the same! Most of the time I find the whole pregnancy thing still feels very theoretical, but if I start to think a lot about it, I freak myself out a lot!

Checked my stats. Can't believe we are heading for thread #2 already!
