Sorry I've been so rubbish at posting over weekend. DS2 has a horrible cold and has been attached to me.

I'll hopefully catch up when he has a nap. Hope you're all ok, morning sickness permitting. Smile

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 24/10/2011 10:51

No idea about early scans but had a 4d with dd 3yrs ago it was £112 at 'a4dbaby' the dvds amazing :)

ecstatica · 24/10/2011 10:57

Greengoose - 5th November, 100pounds. I think I should be 7 weeks plus.

My DC also have colds and we are stuck at home today -- thought they'd pass but definitely all irritable and clingy and quite testing. All pans, pots have been out as have pasta, vermicilli, glue, etc.. Stories have been read, math done and only 11am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and my PIL popping in at 10am (me in pj's) to check on DC....

hope everyone has a good day and shop sounds great.

Tanamera · 24/10/2011 11:23

You lot have been busy over the weekend...and all this talk of food is alternately making me want to hurl and eat at the same time. A constant top up of food is definitely the only thing that keeps me able to get through the day.

In the office today, and was dreading it, but I think (said very tentatively) I'm having a 'good' nausea day today...it seems to be at a low level. Of course, I'm trying not to get hopeful that I might be getting over it - particularly as I'm only 8 weeks, and then feeling bleurgh tomorrow again. We shall see...

I also have super snout, and the horrid taste in my mouth - anyone else get this?! I have found a drink that seems to satisfy me finally though - strawberry and apple juice mixed with tonic water. It's gooooddd......

We've told close people, but I'm struggling to hide my burgeoning girth already - and I have to go to a black tie event tomorrow and 'pretend' to drink whilst surreptitiously getting the nearest plant drunk.

It's good to read everyone going through the same thing - 3rd pregnancy or not, you still need to feel you're not going through it alone [hgrin]

millyv · 24/10/2011 11:30

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I have been rubbish at posting over the weekend but it's been madness!

Welcome to all of the newbies! :)

We told our parents on Thursday and it was great, although felt very odd speaking about it for the first time, went to the party as planned on Saturday and as predicted my brother guessed, he was over the moon and had a tear in his eye bless! Yesterday we went over to the SIL house for Sunday dinner and as we'd told my borther DH wanted to tell his sisters, so we did and they were over the moon too. That is it now though, no-one else is going to know before we have the scan!

I went and bought some sleep bras from mothercare as my boobs have been really annoying me in my sleep, have been much better since I've been wearing them, just need to try and stop these crazy dreams I'm having now! They are so vivid and end up waking me up now, do the drops you've been talking about stop dreams or just help you sleep? I have no problems getting to sleep it's just the dreams that are annoying!

Luckily I'm not craving junk food, it's all about the carbs for me at the moment, anything that doesn't have a really strong smell! As long as I keep my stomach not empty and not too full the nasea seems to be fine, although smells do totally flip my stomach!

Hope everyone has a good day and the nausea disapears!

Xx

Kveta · 24/10/2011 11:49

hi all, still feeling sick here, and actually was this morning, yay... there's nothing like the taste of bile to set you up for the day Hmm

have had to get DH to take over bin emptying duties and also fridge-opening duties, because the smell of the fridge this morning made me hurl.

I want to tell my mum that I'm pregnant, although she will start harrassing me about being fat again (any excuse). I have told my wee sister, because she LOVES being the 1st to know, and also she's a June birthday and has always vowed to disown anyone who tries to steal her birthday thunder - when I told her I was expecting DS, one of the 1st things she said was 'I hope it's not due in June?' She has made me vow to get this baby out before the 20th next year anyway :o as I'm hopefully due on the 3rd, I will be massively unimpressed if still pg on the 20th anyway!!

I have never been able to wear sleep-bras - I tried them last time round, and they just hurt more. Not that I'm sleeping much anyway - was up all night last night with nausea and toddler in bed. Very cuddly toddler, but not a sleeping one, sadly, and he kept driving his toy car up my face and shrieking 'brrrm brrm!' in my ear. sigh. feeding him this morning was utterly toe-curling though, so am having to grit my teeth a lot.

Carty80 · 24/10/2011 13:23

Afternoon all

Nausea really bad today not helped by seeing the dog eat what I think was a baby bird that should have still been in its egg growing! Was so disgusting, that whilst I was doing a poo check in back garden. I was in tears it was all so revolting! Don't know how I am going to cope with the dog and morning sickness! Sorry to any of you who I have just made hurl!!

Having a very tearful day, kids being trying and arguing lots, dog as above and panicing about how I will cope with another baby. I remember being like this with every pregnancy so am hoping it will pass quickly.

Pleased for all of you who have had good reactions to your news, sorry for those of you that haven't.

I ate 2 cheese and coleslaw sandwiches last night and another 2 just now! Also had a really craving for a red bull yesterday! Had a sip of one my DH bought for me but wanted more! I resisted, probably the worst drink for cravings!

Have a nice afternoon.xx

HorseyGirl1 · 24/10/2011 13:28

Hi LemonSherbet. I was told to let my GP know when I found out, then she would tell consultant. He would scan me at 8 weeks to see what I'm having (was expecting twins last time, sadly) as I might need a stitch at 12 weeks. My GP refered me and I phoned the consultant's secretary to see that they had got it OK. Said I was booked for 15th which is when I'd be 11 weeks. Told secretary I might need seen before then so she is checking it out and will get back within next couple of days. Going by past experience, I would phone your consultant, don't wait, if nothing else they will book the appointment for you. Hope you're doing OK. xx

Hello to everyone else - hope you're all doing OK. Treated myself to a look about Mamas and Papas at the weekend. - Think I feel a maternity pillow shopping trip coming on... :-)

Kayzr · 24/10/2011 13:45

Oh Carty I could just eat a cheese and coleslaw sandwich. I am craving lucozade which is an awful thing to crave. I drank loads of it with DS2 and he was 10lb 5oz.

I am exhausted, I feel terrible still. DS2 is now going for a nap so I am hoping to nap on the sofa while I let DS1 watch some tv.

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/10/2011 13:54

Made up for yesterday.

So far:

Bowl of crunchy nut, apple, sausage sandwich with ketchup, egg Mayo with red onion sandwich, gingerbread man.

greengoose · 24/10/2011 14:00

We just made pancakes, but I felt too sick to eat themSad.

Carty80 · 24/10/2011 14:05

Ooh starlight sausage sounds good!

I had such good intentions with this pregnancy to eat healthier and not give my mum the opportunity to say I am eating to much and its not baby fat, just food fat! All going down hill though, its just carbs, carbs, carbs!!

kayzr I know, going to try and ignore my sugary drink craving. Hope your DS is feeling a bit better and you get a nap.

My 2 are fighting so I am hoovering and trying to ignore the screaming! Joy!!

Kveta · 24/10/2011 14:17

god, the mention of coleslaw makes me feel sick! I saw some in the fridge at work and had to quickly start some mental evasive actions!

I had a baked potato with cheese and tuna for lunch, but sense that may be the last tuna I eat for a while, it isn't quite sitting right.

bloody colleagues have made some coffee in the office (I don't drink coffee, so donated them my coffee machine which was a total Hmm wtf birthday present from my family - donated it then found out a week later I was knocked up), and am dry heaving at my desk.

only 8 weeks to go until this will hopefully just be an occasional gip at the sight of raw chicken.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 24/10/2011 15:54

My two are poorly, we've had lots of sick all over mils house :(

Nausea seems to have calmed slightly, do struggle with cooking smells, but have ate toast, slice of cake, jacket spud with cheese beans and tuna!

I do homemade coleslaw for dp, personally can't stand the stuff m'self.

I don't know how much longer I can keep a secret for. Its sooooo hard!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 24/10/2011 16:01

Kveta, I dry heaved all the way through my pregnancy with ds :(

Warlin · 24/10/2011 16:08

Hi Ladies

Congrats!

I am almost 7 weeks with a due date of around 15th June...

It's my first and after 1.5 years TTC and 6 months of clomid...so really anxious!

First scan is next wed so hoepfully can relax a bit after that. Haven't had sickness yet (fingers crossed I don't) but have sore breasts and tiredness...and am so bloated! All my clothes feel really tight and having to undo top buttons etc...hoping it's just fluid and will down.

Anyway good luck to everyone... :)

Hopefully we'll get a few more Juners joining soon!

Dalrymps · 24/10/2011 16:14

moan alert I called work as they wanted me to call them today to let them know if I'll be in tomorrow. How I'm supposed to know how bad I'll feel tomorrow I don't knowHmm I've felt sick every day for almost 2 weeks now so it's not looking good for at least the next few weeks I feel.

As it doesn't say in my contract I asked whilst on the phone whether I'm entitled to ssp. Just wanted to know incase I end up being off for a few weeks. I can't afford the time off and apparently there's some sort of benefit I can claim if I don't get ssp. (I called the benefits line to ask)

In order to claim this benefit however I need to find out if I'm entitled to ssp through work first then let the benefit line know.

So I asked the secretary if I am entitled and she was like 'well everyone is entitled aren't they?' I said I wasn't sure I earned enough to be entitled. She said well it'll probably just be a percentage of your wage if you are but that won't be very much cause you only do 12 hrs. I said I needed to know as I have no idea how long I'll feel like this for and if I'm not entitled then I would have to claim benefits. She then said in a really arsey way 'so you're planning on being sick are you?' to which I said well no, not really, I just don't know long my sickness will last so I need to fond out hat I'm entitled to ad I can't afford to tale the time off. She was like 'well I don't really know what your entitled to' and I was like 'ok thanks' then she just hung up on meSad

I know it's not ideal for work for me to be off but if I feel too ill to go in I cant help that. I actually had a little hormonal cry when I got off the phone cause she upset me with her presumption that I'm 'planning' on being sickSad I'm not a skiver, we actually really need the money to pay back some money we borrowed from my pils to get us out of a tight spot. I just wish I didn't feel sick so I could carry on as normal but they've made me feel like I'm making it upSad She also said they'd give me tomorrow off then see if I felt well after that, oh yeah cause mornig sickness is likely to disappear at this stage within one day isn't itHmm If I didn't need the money so much I'd just pack it in to be honestSad

Carty80 · 24/10/2011 16:26

Dalrymps What a pain it all sounds! If you go in can't you be given different duties, even if it is bed time shift for patients, to do until the sickness gets a bit better? I certainly wouldn't want to be doing the role you do at this point. I worked in an elderly mental health ward when pregnant with DS and had to do the usual toilet duties and it was awful. Have you looked on the Government website, it states what you need to be earning to be entitled to what.

Warlin Welcome and big congratulations, you must be absolutely over the moon!!

Carty80 · 24/10/2011 16:27

God, ignore the last sentence about website, got completely confused to what you were talking about Dalrymps! Know nothing about SSP Blush

Dalrymps · 24/10/2011 16:38

carty thanks, they don't seem to be interested in changing my duties or doing a risk assessment. I looked on the website about ssp and it says you have to earn an average of £102 a week which I don't. Then I called the benefit line and they said even though this is so, my individual contract might state I am entitled anyway. This is why I called work to check this but the stupid woman was so vague and arsey about it that I'm just confused now. I need to know where I'm gonna get money from if I have to be off aarrghh!

millyv · 24/10/2011 16:43

Just a quick message but Dalrymps you should have a copy of your contract of employment, if you do not you are more than entitled to ask for a duplicate copy, maybe you could try asking the very unhelpful receptionist if she could post you a copy?
