teaandhobnobs I think I would ring the dr or midwife if you can and tell them your symptoms. It might be nothing but better to be safe than sorry.

Kveta · 20/10/2011 12:52

teaandhobnobs call the midwife, or NHS direct - hopefully it's just constipation :o but please please get it checked out!

Kveta · 20/10/2011 13:18

also, I had my midwife appt today, and it was good. midwife is just lovely, and remembered me, even though it's been more than 2 years since I last saw her! and last time, she had her hand up my cervix - I decided not to remind her of that though :o she calculated my due date as probably June 3rd, so will update the stats for now. she did it without a calendar, she's that experienced! also told me she's retiring next July, which is :( but means that this baby may be one of the last she deals with. fingers crossed! I'm getting booked in with the hospital where I had DS, so now just need to wait for them to contact me to get the scan booked.

I made such a tit of myself at nursery the other day. I tried to take home the wrong child Blush I'm still not sure why - it wasn't even in DS's room! but was wearing the same top that he'd been wearing the day before, and had the same hair colour. Luckily the nursery staff are pretty hot on security, and when the wee boy turned round I realised it wasn't DS, but jeez. Serious pg brain going on here. Just wish I could explain it to them, but still trying to keep fairly quiet about being upduffed again!!

Just a quick message, close to my heart as one of my best friends battled for her life in intensive care 20 weeks pregnant with swine flu last Christmas. Luckily after 6 weeks she made it, and her miracle baby has just been christened. Lovely.

Anyway - we should all be having our flu jab!!! My mum just nagged me, with good reason & have booked in for Monday! Grin

ecstatica · 20/10/2011 18:12

Hi girls,

I got a BFP yesterday and the nurse at the FP clinic said i'm probably just over 5 weeks so very early days but exciting just the same. Can't remember last MP, usually keep a record (typical) but think it's around the 12th October.

Falling asleep too easily and going to bed too early. Sore boobs, nauseaus and irritable.

:-) Congrats everyone -- glad i found you!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 20/10/2011 19:22

Welcome ecstatica - great to see another person on here; loads of people lined up for maternity leave over the Olympics now!

Novmama · 20/10/2011 19:30

Welcome and congratulations ecstatica.

Rrrrayray thanks for reminder on flu jab. Implications otherwise don't bear thinking about.

To add to comments re lack of sleep anyone having vivid/weird dreams? I am. Seriously off the wall - murderous, erotic, cooking for 40 people.... I kid you not!Confused

ArtyFartyPants · 20/10/2011 19:41

Hi!! I just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant!Grin
LMP 7th Sep - EDD 13th June '12 woooooo

So excited!

ecstatica · 20/10/2011 20:36

Thanks for the welcome! And congrats ArtyFartyPants.

Novmama -- you may be in line for writing next Hannibal script :-)

Kayzr · 20/10/2011 20:42

Welcome and congratulations to Ecstatica and ArtyFartyPants!

working9while5 · 20/10/2011 21:00

Not great news for me at early scan. My dates were 6 wks 5 days by when I think I ov'd, 6 weeks 3 days by LMP and the bean is only 5 wks 4 days. We actually only had unprotected sex last month on the 17th, and I have a 24 day cycle (so that was day 12). I know from OPKs I didn't OV on the 19th, 20th or 21st. So it is not looking spectacularly good for me, though sonographer was trying to convince me that it was likely just to be that my dates were wrong. I am not 15 though, I know how this thing works, and it's just very far behind to be hopeful, considering that at 6 weeks on ds he was exactly the right size and with a very strong heartbeat.

Off to Spain on the hols, guess that's something to be cheery about. It actually upset me a lot more than I thought it would, but there you go! I won't know for definite until something happens or I have a further scan. I hope if it is bad news as I think it just goes, and I don't have to go back and see the same thing on a scan in two weeks. Sonographer said to leave it 4 weeks to be sure as in 2 weeks I could have a seemingly positive picture but risk of miscarriage would still be very high, so a bit of a waste of cash.

Rubbish.

greengoose · 20/10/2011 21:30

Working Sorry youve had such a worry. I dont know enough to give any advice, but I have been through the awful wait, not knowing how it will go and I know thats pretty horrible. I also know these early scans are often not all that helpful (having had four now, two for my boys and two MCs) I hope your holiday can keep you positive and be a distraction for you until you find out whats going on.

Novmama Ive also had some very dodgy dreams. Someone told me that its not that our dreams change, its just our sleep patterns are lighter so we remember them...... I really dont think that I usually have all this running through my head every night though! (laughed at the 'cooking for 40')!

Cheddar I hadnt clicked to the olympics, lot of use my DH is going to be with a new baby if thats on TV!

Kveta your MW sounds lovely! Im hoping to get the same one as last time too... she was fantastic! The way they do it here is you have the same MW from the community team, and then they come to your house when you start and stay with you, either at home, or going with you to your hospital of choice. Far better than where we used to live with DS1, that was a nightmare of a system, so glad we moved here. Its a bit potluck (shambles) isnt it?

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 21/10/2011 06:47

Working - sorry you've got such a wait to know one way or the other; hope the time passes as easily as possible for you.

greengoose - must admit, realising I'd be on mat leave for the Olympics if all goes well was the highlight of the pregnancy for me so far!

Well, still tired today, but marginally better than yesterday I think. Will try to get in the gym tonight (trying to do 3 times a week) and then looking forward to a long lie-in tomorrow!

Rrrrayray · 21/10/2011 08:04

Workingwhile - sorry for this worrying time for you. I have to say, some how with DD1 she was apparently conceived according to scan when DH was out of the country. Remember that the date you did the deed isn't always when conception occours. The little sperms can hang around for up to 5 days I'm told. Fingers crossed this is the case for you!

Slept well last night although feel like I could sleep for another night again!!

Feeling a bit queasy for the first time so snacking on some dates before I get up whilst being subjected to peppa pig episodes.

Midwife called yesterday. Will see me 9th November & scan following week.

Dalrymps · 21/10/2011 09:05

Morning ladiesSmile
working It must be awful waiting but try to stay positive. I hope the time passes quickly till your next scan x

Well no morning sickness today so far. I've been eating a digestive before getting up the last few days and I think it's helping. Only slight occasional nausea yesterday woo hoo

Kveta · 21/10/2011 10:11

Working remember sperm can hang around looking shifty for up to a week post coitus, so it is entirely possible for your dates to be out, and you ovulated well after the act of baby making itself. fingers crossed for you.

I hadn't forgotten the olympics - DH and I had decided to TTC a summer 2012 baby, so I have bought tickets for 1 event with a ticket for the unborn one already - had to buy them in April, so it was a tad ridiculous. I figured £1 on a ticket that may or may not be used was worth the risk though!! Not sure a nearly 3 year old will enjoy it at all, but I want him to be able to say he was there when he's older!

TeaandHobnobs · 21/10/2011 11:46

Morning everyone,

Feeling so much better today - I think it was just trapped wind! Blush I'd forgotten how excruciatingly painful it could be. Have been drinking lots of peppermint tea, and actually being on the move to go into the office today (stupid IT system wouldn't allow me to log in from home) seems to have helped as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should be eating to help things keep moving?

How is everyone else doing? Anyone have any exciting plans for the weekend? DH and I are blitzing the house following the departure of our housemate last weekend, and seeing my parents for dinner on Saturday evening.

Tanamera · 21/10/2011 13:21

My mum always used to swear on an apple a day to keep things moving Teaandhobnobs...glad you're feeling better!

Working so difficult for you, to not have a definitive answer. My last pregnancy 12 week scan put me at dates which may have meant a miracle conception, so I agree with others about possible conception dates - hang in there!

Well, I've just had my booking in appt, and I've got a lovely midwifery team. I have a named midwife, and a backup in case she's away. Received my book (no longer a white book like my last pregnancies, but a blue folder) and lots of info which I'm going to go through with my husband later. Most exciting thing is I have my scan date for 22nd November - eek! They also seemed very pro VBAC, despite having had 2 c-sections, so came out feeling very pleased.

Managing nausea with regular munching - hope everybody else is well?

Carty80 · 21/10/2011 13:38

Argh, just written out a long post and DD just deleted it by banging on keyboard!

working so sorry your going through this and you have to wait to find out what is happening.

Rrrray thanks for reminder about flu jab, have booked in for one later today.

novmama yes, weird dreams here! Featuring ex boyfriends mostly! Nothing rude though I must add!

vix glad drops seem to be working. Have to say I have been sleeping better since using them. I thought a fluke too but any time not taken have definitely not slept as well. Lets hope they last!

All ok with me, very tender boobs but not too much nausea although crying at everything! Sort of want more symptoms to kick in so i feel more pregnant!

Went to a family party yesterday and my SIL decides to tell me that her midwife after birth of 2nd DC said to her "not to have a 3rd as 3rd labours are the worst" Shock I told my DH after and he couldn't believe what a silly thing it was so say. I laughed it off and actually don't believe her but really, think before you speak!! Angry

Welcome to any new ladies and congratulations!

Right, post before it disappears!

Florin · 21/10/2011 14:28

Hello everyone. I am so so tired plus I have to go out for work drinks tonight. I just want to curl up in bed and go to sleep. Luckily can say I am driving to avoid the drinking thing.. Think dh realised quite how tired I am feeling last night so has offered to get train down to where I am and drive me home as worried I will be to tired to drive. Feel a bit guilty about it but think I might have to take him up on it. Sickness also starting to kick in too! Can't wait till I can tell everyone to explain my strange behaviour. Got serious case of baby brain too, had to spend a good couple of minutes earlier remembering what year we were in! Opps! Blush

StarlightMcKenzie · 21/10/2011 14:53

Working So sorry you didn't get the answer you needed to enjoy your holiday. I can only reiterate what others have said and that women's bodies can be a bit unpredictable and it is possible to now and then ovulate twice in one cycle etc. and sperm can hang about too.

I do remember that my scan with my last would have put my conception date when dh was out of the country too, which luckily he laughed off Hmm

OP posts:
Kayzr · 21/10/2011 14:57

Working I'm sorry about the scan. I hope you can relax while on holiday and also hoping that the next scan shows a healthy baby.

I seem to have got rid of my stomach bug. I've eaten today without rushing to the toilet. Just feeling very tired.

I'm struggling with the giving up smoking today for some reason. I haven't had one in almost 2 weeks but today it's really difficult.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 21/10/2011 17:03

Can I join?

I finally stopped being daft and poas today, I'm 6weeks pg! This will be my 3rd, I have a 4.3yr old ds and a 2.11yr old dd. This is a rather big suprise. And I've forgotten EVERYTHING! And the biggest thing I keep thinking is omfg ill have a 3mnth old at my own wedding.
