I take my pregnacare when I go to bed as I never ever remember them. But I haven't had them the past 2 days due to this bug.

Welcome to our new comers. I'll say hi properly when I feel less like rubbish. But congratulations.

Florin · 18/10/2011 14:22

I take my pills in the morning otherwise I would forget! At this stage they are so important think better to make sure you take them then worry to much about what time.
I am feeling Upset. We spent a wonderful weekend with our best friends as we were both celebrating expecting our first babies (friends 5 weeks ahead of us) it was such a lovely weekend. Just found out they lost theirs yesterday. Feel so sad for them and guilty. Don't know what to say as I am probably last person they want to hear from at the moment. My dh talking to other dh which is probably the best way at the moment.
Makes me realise how much I have already fallen in love with my little bub, makes me love it so much more and how quickly it can all be over.
Trying to cheer up as telling mil later about being pregnant and she is going to be bouncing off the walls with excitement.

millyv · 18/10/2011 14:32

Oh florin how awful for your friend, I'm sure once she's had some time to grieve she will be fine with you.

Welcome all the new people- there are loads of us now!

Xx

birdofthenorth · 18/10/2011 14:37

This has all just reminded me to go abs buy more Pregnacare or cheap alternative! I feel v guilty as have forgotten to take it a few times already. Baby brain plus baby's needs are an unfortunate combo!

birdofthenorth · 18/10/2011 14:41

Florin that's terrible, I'm sorry. I do think you should text her & let her know you're thinking if her- I imagine she wants to be alone/ with DH but it would be a nice gesture. I sort if know how you feel as a close friend is pg after 3 mcs & I haven't told her our news in case God forbid her's fails to work out again. I am praying for her littlun on a daily basis!

Dionysia · 18/10/2011 14:43

well, teaandhobnobs DIY and pregnancy hormones are made for each other.

the urge to nest is v. powerful and had me being extremely demanding about things about the house last time (last-minute bathroom installation with DC3, kitchen install for DC2 - lounge totally re-done DC1) ...

i would say none of the MWs who have been round my house balked at the mess, but at the time they arrived, there wasn't any....(notes its in a bit of a state now...)

i also have a cold >snuffle<

it is hard when others lose their pregnancies. you don't know what to say but still feel for them. some women going through it like having kids/bumps around them..to others it just feels like salt in the wound.

emblosion · 18/10/2011 14:48

Phew! took me ages to read through the thread but am finally up to speed...

I am so glad i found this place as I already feel massively reassured, being a first-timer it's great to find people that are in the same boat!

Goldril so sorry for your loss - wishing you all the best for the future.

Florin - sorry to hear about your friend, that's so sad. Two of my friends have miscarried recently, and I feel like it has made me so hyper-aware of everything that can go wrong... am trying to give myself a talking to and stop worrying but it's hard...

Has anyone else had period pain type cramps? I've had kind of mild cramping in my lower back for the last couple of days... other than that, sore boobs and v mild nausea, tiredness and, as of today, an absolute raging thirst!

and welcome scater (even tho I am a newbie too!)

x

TeaandHobnobs · 18/10/2011 15:01

Made a GP appointment for next week for antenatal booking in. What should I expect? Will it just be a quick chat? Taking BP?
Not a fan of doctors - on the very rare occasions when I have been to the GP in the last few years, I always feel like I get scolded Sad - I'm just oversensitive! It's making me feel apprehensive though...

Dionysia · 18/10/2011 15:06

Gp referral appt..

well, i think they take EDD, BP, ask about any meds you are currently taking..and then they send it off to your local hospital.

...and hopefully the MW team then contact you - if they don't within a couple of weeks, deffo chase it up, these referrals can get lost (happened to mine twice!)

remind yourself: the GP is there to serve you. also not a fan of doctors though my Local GPs are, i must admit, very pleasant on the whole.

ReadySteadyDrink · 18/10/2011 15:08

Ok, I have baby brain already. I am not taking pregnacare, I am taking Sanatagen mother-to-be, but that still says to take with main meal. I guess it just means because they are hard to digest.

I might try to take it tomorrow with my evening meal. I don't want to forget though... I was taking the odd one or two whilst TTC, so in the first 4weeks on pregnancy I didn't take them, but I guess that was only really the first 2 weeks, so probably ok.

friedfrog · 18/10/2011 16:13

Hello,

Any room left on the bus!! I think I am due 26th June.

Scared and would love to offer and be offered support!

Hope you are all well

StarlightMcKenzie · 18/10/2011 16:18

Dion It's lovely to see you here too, but you might have to remind me if we've come across each other before!?

Working I am having trouble imagining you as tired and pregnant with worries. Honestly, my image of you is of perfection.

I have my GP appointment tomorrow. It is with a new surgery that I have just registered with so who knows what it will be like but I will be BEGGING for some anti-sickness drugs. Last time I had stemetil which literally saved me.

Welcome fried!!

I am the worst ill person in the world. Just wish I could get into bed and stay there until I'm better. Especially as DS1 brought chocolate cake home from school so the boys are munching away. There is a bit for me that I want to eat but it's not worth the pain.

Does anyone else think that June seems a life time away?

Birdiegirl · 18/10/2011 16:31

Hi all,

Can I join too, please. My EDD is 11/06/2012 - its my first pregnancy so I'm a bag of nerves. TTC for 7 years so in a complete state of shock at the moment.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Regards, B.xx

StarlightMcKenzie · 18/10/2011 16:50

Oh WOW Birdie! You must be over the moon (course we all are, but you know what I mean!?)

Sorry, don't feel that we have to have the list grouped like that.

I just did it for my own referencing because I have trouble with big groups remembering who is who and where etc.

Hi...been watching this thread for a few weeks Wink and have now decided to stop lurking and join up.

I'm pregnant with my 3rd and due on 3rd June - luckily 3 is my lucky number! I've got my booking in appt on Friday, and despite wishing I woudn't feel as rough as I did in the previous 2 pregnancies, nausea has hit strong and hard over the past few days. Only thing that helps is eating...so I expect I'll put on as much weight as in the previous two....sigh.

Hello to everyone, and I've added myself to the list below:

Nicely ordered Starlight! I think there are so many of us we could use some management....
Good to have so many first timers, (I can live vicariously through your sense of wonder and joy.... those were the days Grin). Also welcome aboard to all the newbees, its great to share this with other people who are also obsessing about every little thing and find it all hugely interesting when the RW doesnt even know yet!

I have finally peed on my last stick. I have gone through 20 internet cheapies, and have a spectrum from 'only a nutter would think that was a line' to 'darker than the test line' and everything nicely tone coded in between. I am going to take a photo and then bin them, as not the cleanest thing to have proudly on display in the bathroom cabinet!

My DH let me have a 'short' nap this afternoon, and has left me from 1pm until now, which was very sweet. I dont know how Im going to keep up with work at this rate though?

Birdie wanted to say a big congrats to you in particular.... you must be so overjoyed after such a long wait..... well done for sticking with it, (I have a good friend who tried forever, and then gave up, and she got pregnant within two months. Female bodies are unpredictable I think).

greengoose · 18/10/2011 17:30

Oh, forgot to say, I ate half a jar of beetroot yesterday...... thinking this might be my obsession for a while. not sure of health implications, but got to be better than B&Js Cookiedough......

Kayzr · 18/10/2011 17:56

I bought some beetroot the other day Greengoose, not had any yet but I know its there. I cant wait to feel better and be able to eat.
