LadyGrace that sounds like what I had the other day. You could try ringing your local EPU or the maternity ward to see about an early scan but I think you have to be 6 weeks or more. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.

Kveta · 12/10/2011 14:01

LadyGrace - can you call your GP/midwife for advice? I had some similar sounding bleeding last week and thought it was the end, but so far, so good. However, had the same in August, and miscarried, so I guess it can go either way. fingers crossed for you.

thanks for the clothing advice. I did a google and found a company called BonPrix (I think?) which does maternity wear, it looks well priced and nice. I only really need a couple of pairs of jeans, and maybe a dress, as most of my tops will hide a multitude of sins for a few months yet! I do def. need a dress though as I'm going to the MN christmas bash in London! As I live in jeans and a t-shirt, dresses flummox me completely!

ceej - good luck wih the thesis! I would never have written up if there had been a baby on the horizon, I was distracted enough with other things ! have a great trip too! my bump started to show at around 20 weeks 1st time, but my trousers were unwearable after about 10 or 11 weeks - I just used the hair bobble trick to extend them until I managed to buy some mat clothes (at about 15 weeks). It was a fun few weeks Hmm

LadyGrace keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's just a bit of an infection, definitely call and see if you can get an early scan to check it out.

Kveta thanks, I'm on schedule for completing by Christmas so shouldn't be too obvious by then. I lost some weight before conceiving so have a bit of lee way in my current clothes before I have to consider maternity clothes, guessing people will assume I've just got a bit fat again!

MyMamaToldMe · 12/10/2011 14:48

LadyGrace fingers corssed for you. I had a bit of bleeding in my 1st pregnancy which scared me terribly. Turned out to be an implantation bleed thankfully. Stay positive! :)

ceeej I'm impressed! I really couldn't concentrate enough to be studying at the moment. Enjoy your trip to Singapore. I actually can't remember when my bump started to show the last time - I think it was around the 15 - 20 week mark. I certainly felt more pregnant than I looked - haven't forgotten that yet!! Grin

millyv · 12/10/2011 14:54

ladygrace hope you're ok, fingers crossed for you!

I went to Singapore in April on the first part of my honeymoon, totally loved it there- enjoy your trip!

Xx

Carty80 · 12/10/2011 15:40

ladygrace hope everything is ok xx

babysaurus · 12/10/2011 16:33

Hello....?
I am a hesitant newcomer. I found out on Friday that I am pg with number one (after a mmc at 13 weeks in July - hence the hesitation about joining an ante natal.)
No major symptoms as yet, which I am currently wishing was not the case, apart from being vaguely tired (at least more than usual.) Didn't have major symptoms with the pregnancy which mc'd either, which isn't helping my frame of mind, but am trying to keep postive all the same.

greengoose · 12/10/2011 17:09

Hi Babysaurus! Glad you have joined.... lots of us here are preg after MC... its all a bit terrifying isnt it? I guess the odds are that it will work out fine though, and at least here there is lots of support, and nobody worries that we are being a little obsessive! (Well, I think I must be as I have got through 16 cheap pee-sticks at the last count, and three CB digis, just to check the line is still getting darker)!

ceej I had to write my masters dis. while preg with no1, and I must say that it went down hill a bit once I found out I was pregnant! (didnt help it was on infant mother relationships)! Itll be good to finish before Christmas - all the more reason to celebrate!

Ladygrace How are you? I bled with both my boys... and panicked. Its horrible in these early weeks isnt it? Try not to worry, as your MW says, it happens alot (when I MCd I bled too, but it also really hurt, and I knew it was different). So many mums on these forums have early bleeds and its all fine...

Got my Ds2's birthday party on Monday (was Ds1's last week). Much as I enjoy it, Ill be relieved when its done this year!! Work's really busy too, and Im just knackered!

ReadySteadyDrink · 12/10/2011 18:12

Ceej good luck with the thesis.

Well, I am definately pregnant. I have just burnt myself by taking something out of the oven without oven gloves - what an idiot. I did exactly the same thing when I was pregnant the first time round - baby brain!!! sheesh!

thedogwalker · 12/10/2011 18:44

Hi all. Lady Glad everything has calmed down, hopefully that will be it and you can relax a bit now.
I've got my Dr appointment booked for next monday and then they will refer me to the Midwives, don't just self refer where I live. Having to get used to how they do it here, I lived in Germany for DS and had private health care, which included lots and lots of scans, all of which supplied photos of my DS, I understand here they don't do that many and you have to pay for the scan photo Shock. Also in Germany you have your own midwife and Doc at the birth and they followed my birthing plan to the letter, just a shame I tore quite badly and ended up with 30 stitches, Germany don't do gas and air, just a paracetamol drip and then straight to epidural, so I opted for NO pain relief and I'm going to do the same again, yes I know I am mad.
Well hello to all the newbies, this is getting to be a busy thread, take care all xx

Kayzr · 12/10/2011 20:30

Lady I am so glad its calmed down. I really hope it was nothing to worry about.

Thedogwalker You get 2 scans here usually. Occasionally 1 or 2 more if they need to check the position of the baby. Scan pictures were £3 with DS1 and £5 with DS2 so fully expecting them to be about £10 this time. I used to buy 1 or 2 and then scan into the computer. I only had a tens machine with DS2 at home as the gas and air the midwife brought with her was broken.

I am really hoping for a smaller baby this time round. DS2 was 10lb 5oz and although I prefered his birth to DS1, I wouldn't mind just a little bit smaller.

Rrrrayray · 12/10/2011 21:09

wow. its been busy in here.

Kayzr- Some people can experience MS from the day of conception. Everyone is Different, so it could be MS. Hope it passes soon.

Sparrow- amazing news to conceive naturally. you must be on cloud 9. Welcome!

Kveta- ASOS have a fab maternity range

MillyV- haven't been to a gym class since BFP... but is your gym instructor being sutble about it, or saying hey pregnant woman, you cant do this?! ;-)

millyv · 12/10/2011 21:30

Hey, hope everyone is ok- had a slight moment if panic earlier when I had a bit if spotting, went to the pharmacist to get another test and she assured me it happens to lots of people and my test said I was still ok- fingers crossed!

My gym lady was fab, spoke to her before I went in the class and she was very discreet. She basically said if you have been physically active pre pregnancy it's fine to keep exercising but nothing too strenuous and leave off abs work. Just been to my last netball and I'm gutted, really live playing but it's too much of a risk!

Just having a fish finger sandwich- my treat on a Wednesday night!

Hope everyone gets a good night sleep tonight!! Xx

Rrrrayray · 12/10/2011 21:51

Glad to hear she was discreet. When I am
Next at gym must tell instructor.

I had some spotting day before yesterday, but mine was otherwise related. I had an abnormal smear 6 months ago and so had to have a repeat colcoscopy yesterday. I was astonished they were happy to do while pregnant but consultant assured absolutely fine. I know im not alone but you can't help but worry. I really didn't even consider the idea of MC 1st time round, but my sister in law has had 3 in last year so are somewhat playing on my mind! Hmm

Wishing us all a restful nights sleep!

Thought it was time I added myself to the list. Anyone else spend most of the night trying to think of baby names, when you really should be sleeping!? X

birdofthenorth · 12/10/2011 22:29

Yes definitely to obsessing about baby names all night Anna!

Millyv v sorry to hear about the spotting, though I'm sure all is well. Don't panic Smile

Kayzr · 13/10/2011 06:26

Morning, I actually managed to get a full nights sleep except for about 5 minutes when I had to go to the toilet.

Millyv I hope the spotting has stopped today.

I'm not obsessing over names. But prams!

Hope everyone is well!

millyv · 13/10/2011 07:58

Morning ladies!

All seems fine at this end, spotting stopped not long after it started, not sure if I'd even call it spotting really- sorry if this is tmi but it was like a bit of brown slimy discharge- resembled nothing like a period- so hopefully it was nothing serious!

I fell asleep straight away last night and am just getting up now- although I feel like I have been sleeping for all of 5 minutes?!?

I haven't been thinking about names yet, probably will only think of boys when it comes to it as dh has 2 lovely sons and his sister has 3 boys- the odds of buying pink look slim!

Pram wise I am hoping that they will finally release the iCandy strawberry in time!

Hope everyone is feeling good and positive this morning!

Xx

Rrrrayray · 13/10/2011 08:00

Slept well here thankfully.

Won't give baby names too much thought until know what we're having. Will find out when the time comes?! Are most of you planning to find out or wait for surprises?

Off to see my Beautian lady who gave me reflexology last month & told me my body wasn't ready to conceive. Grin she'll laugh when I tell her!

MyMamaToldMe · 13/10/2011 08:41

Morning all - a good nights sleep for me too - looks like we are all sleeping better! Why oh why do I still feel tired then?!

We waited to find out the sex of DD and we'll do the same with this one, although I think it's a boy. Don't know why as that's what I thought DD would be too! Ha how wrong was I! It really was the most amazing surprise, and I look forward to having that surprise again! Rather strange for me as I am not normally the most patient person!

Names are on my mind all the time too. Struggling with boys names. Girls names are sorted - although my DH doesn't quite agree!

I have an iCandy Cherry - must investigate the Strawberry - never heard of it.

AnnaMariaWhiskers · 13/10/2011 09:17

Morning everyone. Glad there were some better night's sleep. We had both girls and boys names sorted years ago, but recently a family member 'stole' our boys name and now we can't agree on anything. I'm not that keen on finding out the sex beforehand, but my DH is, so I'm trying to bargain - we'll find out the sex if he lets me choose the name! It's not going down too well at the moment! Have a good day x
